It doesn't say we can buy it though - it just says: "to be distributed as a Car Ticket each month beginning late January"

The car ticket is for the people who buy the watch. Register and they'll get the ticket at the end of whatever month they do it.
Everyone else can just buy it from BC at the end of next month.

This is a 2-car update (I don't care what anyone says, the official release of the Bulgari VGT is in the February update. If that has 3 other cars then it's a 4-car update).
A 2-car update after a nearly 3 month wait.
Yes, it seems like they are no longer putting much work into GT7.
Different people mostly, and it's still pathetic to lock a fake car behind a $5,000 purchase. What was already looking like an update with 1 real car and 2 fake cars turned into an update with 1 of each, and a bonus early access for rich watch collectors.

To be clear I'm not taking this viewpoint, just explaining how you seem to be straw-manning an actual reasonable take:
"only three cars and two are VGTs" followed by "and you can't even get one of the VGTs until Feb, so the update is actually two cars, one being a VGT" is certainly a reasonable viewpoint for someone to have.
e: to be extra clear, i'm actually excited for both the Jimny and the Genesis VGT (as someone who came ~this close~ to buying a G70)

Not being that hostile or that disappointed myself I am still curious avout the reward range and racing conditions for the Jimny Cup.
Maybe it will be a blast if the grid is tight and competitive ? One can hope … ?

Not gonna lie, I wasn't interested in the VGTs anyway, but being met with this little content and this method of delivery for one of them, especially after three months of nothing, is quite funny in that "this is such a shame I can't help but laugh" kind of way.
The engine swaps that are coming should hopefully be a small silver lining in a rather dry update.

The Jimny should be nice in VR. Looking forward to it.
Still have a tiny tiny glimpse of hope for 1-2 nice changes or additions in the update. We will get to know it in the changelog tomorrow.
We got two pretty big updates in 2023 with the one in February with VR and so many other stuff and Spec 2 in November.
You can’t expect these big ones month after month and also the PD team needs a bit of rest over the holidays.
Otherwise: The game is getting two years old, yes probably it will end/slow down a bit with big additions.

Some customisation options on the Jimny at least...

The definiton of "overcompensating". Yet some other beloved cars, have a lot less customization options in the game.
If they were to make one of the VGTs with such limited availability, they should have added atleast one more car in the update. But then again, even if that wasn't the case, a 3 car update with 3 "controversial" choices, should always have a bit more.

I was actually looking forward to the Bulgari. However, I'm not in the habit of dropping 5 figures on novelty items so I have to wait.
