I think one way for updates to be less disappointing or less controversial, at least for most players, would be for PD to adopt a holistic and stable policy, every two month.

  • One road car (Brand Central and Used Cars)
  • One sports car (Brand Central and Used Cars)
  • One legendary car (Legend Cars)
  • One race car (Sport Mode).

As for the circuits, a circuit could be added every four months, alternating between an original one and a real one.

Of course, I'm speaking from an idealistic perspective. Perhaps, with some forethought, this would not be difficult to accomplish.

I think this would please greeks and trojans, street car lovers and race car lovers, single player lovers and sport mode lovers.
That would involve having a plan 😂, but your right if the structured updates along those lines, there would be less backlash,

What they need is a community manager from outside the PD bubble, a more open, dialogue with the press, from Kaz, who only seems to do structured interviews, God forbid someone asks him a difficult question.

The frustration for me as a League or online player, is the lack of newer race cars, I'm asked to use Gr3 or 4 every week online but stuck with alot of Cars that have been around since GTS,

Yup.

"BUT, why that model? Why that year? Aw, man! The other one would been way better"

"What good is this sports car? I wanted the racing version(I'm definitely guilty of this one)!"

"Is that car really worthy of legendary status? I can name a few hundred that are way more significant than that one. C'mon, PD! What a waste of resources..."

"Too many race cars. We can't even use it with other race cars(valid point)."

By the way, Server Maintenance Notice is on the website(obviously).
The GR10 is a classic case, to slow to use, against gr1, Cars, therefore useless in lobbies, leagues and daily races.

Apricots together strong!

I'm keen for a Vivaldi's Four Seasons of rings, but I thought the rings GT already had corresponded to Wagner's Ring cycle.

Das Rheingold (High Speed Ring)
Die Walküre (Autumn Ring)
Siegfried (Cape Ring)
Götterdämmerung (Nürburgring)

edit: Of course, we'll need two of those rings to be added back to the roster. The three additional antitracks would be very confusing, but probably still less confusing than if PD were to add 'Swiss Alps - Green Forest Roadway' to fit the current dirt track naming conventions.
You had me at Vivaldi!

This is the car we need, not some VGTs...

There's a Jimny Cup set of events according to the PS Blog.

I like that, it's the kind of thing that's missing from the event structure. Hopefully we get more of that kind of one-make or few-make event in future updates too.

The Bulgari VGT is only available if you buy the watch
I doubt that, maybe the buyers get the car sooner, but were surely able to buy it in game...

Update: yup, seem like early access to Bulgary buyers, the rest gets to buy it later. Thats fine, VGT, so care less...

Yes but he said ONLY available to those that buy the watch - which is wrong!
Context. They meant you can only drive it tomorrow if you've bought the watch. Otherwise, you'll have to wait, like 99.9% of the playerbase.

I find it odd how people keep questioning if this update is a sign that Polyphony is starting to focus on GT8 and pull their attention away from GT7. All because this update has 3 cars without a track.
The first content update for the game was exactly the same (Spa pit lane aside), and we've had countless updates with just 3 cars in. Seems people like jumping to conclusions really quickly.
