From those torque specs you posted, The base Fiat might be faster out of the hole than the Abarth.

Also, the only thing getting in the way of Thursday nights are homework now, rescheduled my availability to a different time. Sorry, I'm here to stay
Might be faster out of the hole, but remember you gotta put the power down :-)

Awesome being able to reschedule your availability :-)

Series Announcement -- TC1: it's really close to being a thing.

So I know we haven't even begun to race the Fiats yet, but the 500s are a place holder for the return of the Touring Car Series I ran this time last year! The only difference now is that there is more than one series using the 'Gran Turismo Touring Car Championship' or GTTCC name I used, so I've decided to make it a part of this series.

I am really, really, REALLY close getting the specs right, but tweaks are needed. Same theme of street cars converted to race cars, but with slower speed than the last set, with a mix of FF and FR cars. What I have thus far is in the Google doc here:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ssqwQNvGyTS13ZIkizX7qeNw5N2tyvn7LIcgXK2qp18/edit?usp=sharing

The specs are supposed to mimic the current FIA World Touring Car Championship TC1 specs (hence the name). Those specs call for 380 hp at 1150 kg minimum weight. But as you should all know by now, the specs in GT don't always follow the logic you think they should, so they're a little all over the place. But I think they should work.
There also will be no additional cars for this set, because that was a little bit of a pain to work with. If these 6 are okay, these will be the only 6 to choose from.

A pre - season calender is in there as well for April and May for these specs. I only have up to June, that may be a summer break. I would like to run a season 2 of another championship I ran last summer, but that will not be under this umbrella, it'll be its own thing.

Just something to get you guys thinking about. Of course, we still have a few weeks of city car racing to get through!

Hey Flip, just looking at those specs I can tell you those FF cars are not balanced one bit.

The Focus is the dog of the group. I ran with a crew that did something similar over the late summer early fall if I remember correctly. I'll try to get a link to it. It should give you a good idea of balance of the cars. I'll edit it into this post

Here it is

I do remember that, but we're going to have more power than that across the board. We have a month to get this stuff right, that's why I'm getting it out early.

My immediate memory of these cars is that the Honda and Ford were a bit slow, and VW needed to be reigned back a bit. I think the 86 was somewhere in between, and I forget the other two. But they're not miles off the planet from each other.

The Honda was actually ripping fast once tuned. The VW had the speed advantage. The Ford lost out on handling to both. The Ford was an underdog. I know it is different power levels but the handling is only going to get worse at that level.

Flip I checked the specifications that you have created and I think you forgot to add intace tuning to the specification list of scirocco

Wasn't the best night for myself either. Crashed twice. But the last 20 minutes something clicked and I found more speed. Tonight is going to be really fun though.

I wanted to say thank you for allowing me to race with you guys. Last night was some of the best racing I have even been involved with. The amount of car control and clean driving makes me proud to be a part of it. 3 wide racing in the turns with little to no contact and no damage if there were was awesome!

on another note I would like to file a formal protest with the stewards towards draqua_fresh's car. It did not meet the series requirements of having a number plate displayed.:mischievous:

:gtpflag:

Yes last night was an interesting race, if not for that dam chicane I would of had a better rythem, one thing is never give up I got damage early on and was last and managed to claw my way back to six. The first couple laps we were 3wide here and there and had no contact, this is clean group to race with.

Hey, should be on for a little while tonight working out the TC1 specs. If you are on, you can drop by.

Yep, you were correct. I've fixed this. Thanks for the heads up. 👍

Oh I wanna be testing with everyone... i am unable too though. Definitely can't wait until Thursday :-)

So since we're trying to work things out for the touring cars coming up, we need to have some larger test days with the cars. I'm thinking Monday nights this month, we definitely can do that, may also be able to do Fridays as well. You don't have to commit a car yet, but just to get some group running with them to see where we are.

Early days in BOP: The VW needs to have a small amount of power taken out of it.
The Honda and the Ford probably need a little extra juice added. It's not so bad for the Honda, because we could look at the Integra if the Civic doesn't hold out. If we can't get the Ford up and running, I'm not sure what to do after that. Last I checked, the Focus ST '13 does not have a flat floor option. I would like to replace a FWD car with another FWD, but I forget if there's another one we can replace the Ford with.

I believe the RWD cars are alright, just need smaller tweaks to get them balanced.

What about the Renault sport megane

FWD update: We may have two Honda entries, the Civic and the Integra (I think it's an '04), if we can't get the Ford working. All other FWD premium cars (and I'm pretty sure I've bought all of them by now) don't meet our criteria. Straight line for the Ford isn't bad, but it doesn't turn worth... [can't think of clean word to put here]. I'm not quite sure it's possible to tune it up to speed, I've been testing with no tunes on the cars (outside of equal downforce and gearing). So if someone is willing to give it a shot, go for it!

The Integra has yet to be properly spec'd, but I can get it in the ballpark quite easily.

I should be on tonight, so if we can get some people to get a group test going, that'd be great! If not, we can try later in the week.
