This might sound pessimistic, but don't expect any more than what you've seen up to this point. The GT games have always been behind on "neat touches" and I don't expect HD and 5 to be any different. Don't get me wrong I'm a fan of the series more than most and I don't own an Xbox of either sort yet want a PS3, mainly due to this game, but don't expect something we haven't seen proven. It probably won't happen.

HD looks amazing. hopefully they wont leave out stuff for the U.S. If they have ferrari they should definitly put in some older versions. the new ferraris just look to different. enzo tailights on every single one of their new cars (ugly) not to go off topic but how much are games gunna cost for the ps3

Yeah it's gonna be nasty.
Situation 1: GT HD classic content needs downloading, maximum net cost with new updates est. £850
Situation 2: GT HD classic content included, only updates needed. est. £600. And that's for people who already have an HDTV like me.

so you need an hdtv also? this is gunna REALLY stink for me. my families flat broke as it is. i was all excited and now im depressed. jk lol

i know i dont NEED it but like he said, its just gunna be like gt4 without it. i was saving up to buy a 1968 barracuda but ill just have to save up for the ps3 and some accesories then

GT-HD will still look better than GT4 on a standard television set. The cars will surely look smoother and such, you just won't be getting the full hd resolution as you would on a HDTV. I'd be willing to bet there will be various video output modes just as there was on GT4. (480i, 480p, 1080p)

I'm confused here; I haven't followed the PS3 trends (when it's available, then facts come forward)...

1) Will you be able to use a PS3 with any TV screen resolution?
2) Must it have a net connection?

I don't understand...But I do get the fact Ferrari's going to be in it!

I'm assuming the PS3 will have regular composite connections (1 video cable, 2 for stereo). But like someone said, I don't see the point in getting PS3 for GT Classic if you don't have a HDTV. Unlike other games, GT Classic will be GT4 with better res. I seriously doubt you'll notice more than 5-10% better on a SDTV. Remember, this isn't like comparing PGR2 vs PGR3 on a SDTV with Xbox360. It's more like comparing Halo 2 on a SDTV vs. Halo 2 enhanced at 720p on Xbox360 on a SDTV, which will really both look the same, or at least that's how it appears to be. Depending on where you live, you can get a Samsung HLS 56" DLP with full 1080p support for around $2700 in United States and Canada.

Hooray! checking them out!
The bottom line is that Classic will look the same as GT4 on an SD TV, Premium will look a bit better, but not fantastic.
Can I just ask something?
When people think "HDTV" why do they think TV?
What if you don't want/need a mahoosive TV?
I'm playing GT HD on my PC monitor, £640 it cost ($1200 or so) and in the US it's a lot less than that, under $1000 I think.

It's 1920x1200 so it can accept 1080p and has VGA, DVI, S-Video, Composite and Component and supports Picture in picture! True it doesn't have an inbuilt TV receiver, but you can easily attach a digital receiver box to it!

Cockpit view confirmed? Looks promising...

The three things I wanted in the next GT were: Support for 6 speed w/Clutch pedal, cockpit view, and online play. Things are looking good for GT-HD in my book.👍

Well It looks like at least two of those are in, I'm pretty certain all three will be. <rubs hands again> well, I'm not going to be buying the 6-speed clutch wheel, well not while it's still £200 anyway, but I probably will be buying a DFP now they're £55 to replace the GT Force (210 degree) that cost me the same lol.

I play GT4 on my PC monitor right now (Gateway 21" widescreen HD:) ), but wouldn't a monitor need an HDMI input to get 1080p out of the PS3? Does the PS3 even have a DVI output? I've never even thought about it other than the HDMI output. I'll have to look into this on the PS3 thread...

I'd offer to sell you my DFP for 50 bucks when the G25 is released but it would probably cost way too much to ship to the UK.:ouch:

You can have mine - used twice (less than an hours worth of play!), still with perfect box and all packaging and with the GT centre hub logo rather than the Logitec one that the new ones have. for £50.

Lol yes it would cost too much...:grumpy:
I heard that the HDMI was being axed from the 20GB Version of the PS3, so there must be another way of doing it. besides, doesn't the PS3 use the same ouptut connector as the PS2 for the analogue signals (composite, component, S-Video etc.) ? You could surely connect a component cable to that. I'd rather not buy an HDMI to Component converter because they cost an absurd amount of money, some places charge £60 just for a DVI to HDMI cable, let alone digital to analogue.

Lol, interesting offer mate, why has it only been used twice? Just curious... I'd quite like £50 all-in if delivery's included, if it isn't then I'd rather spend £5 more to get a new one lol.

HDMI on 20GB model was confirmed worldwide 3 days ago. Still, you can use component through standard A/V port. You can also go advanced by using HDMI-DVI converter.

What wonders me about the new movie is open-road where 599 is driving. Glitch of free-ride mode? Maybe that will be surprise for last moments prior to release.

Nah my PC's in the DVI, true I could move it to VGA for then, but I'm happy to "suffer" component unless DVI would make it a lot better. I'm after the best experience possible without being a millionaire (I'm a student for crying out loud!) so any little thing I can do to help the situation I'll do it.

Yeah I was wondering where the 599 is going... That'll prove interesting! Unless they used the wheelie trick to get out of the course ROFL.
