Sorry, but in my experience with it, it's just not that good, and 100% overrated.

Sophy drives in a train with no difference in driving style between them, and often sand-bag themselves down the straight for you to get an easy pass... also I've had some really bone-headed divebombs happen to me taking out me and some others others a hanful of times already in hairpins.

Honestly the non-sophy standard Ai with Boost set to weak is far better to race with than what Sophy has been dumbed-down to, it's disappointing. The great potential is there inside of it, yet they choose to seemingly give it brain-damage.

It did not feel like I was racing against people.
Not anjoyable to race with, sorry.👎🏻
Have you raced Sophy with boost set to weak? One of their issues is one-makes, but mixed grids can help with that.

I tried it with all the Gr.# classes and even some custom grids, but to be fair I cant remember if I set boost to weak or not for the Sophy races, will check in some days when I have time off work.
May get my feedback returned here.

Hoping SOPHY gets to tackle St.Croix real soon. Need another nice long circuit to run. Plus, it’s crazy wide for side by side racing just about everywhere. ;)

The objective is brilliant, I dont care how long it takes to refine this system. Just a shame that this level of attention was not lavished on the GT interface which is (after so many updates) a real scattergun mess overlaid on a decent game.
Then gotta wait long time for proper campaign.
Overall it is enjoyable and I like where it is going.

My hope is that this is the precursor of a challenging single player campaign for an upcoming major updates / GT8.

They also need to incorporate some personality to each individual Sophy racers. Have you try a one make professional sophy race? It looks like a procession, like a shoal of fish, Skynet controlling the herd. With different variant of cars, it is not an issue.
Apparently Sophy is memory hungry for PS5.

Imagine a PD-SONY AI-Honda Robotics collaboration.

I feel if SOPHY was added to ASIMO and a controller placed in hand, would SOPHY be as quick as it is? The time to calculate car physics, decision making and time to apply inputs to controller and reaction time there after, how close to or improved from human responses would SOPHYASIMO be?
I guess something like the NVIDIA robot might be better, but not sure how that could work.

I hope all tracks and layouts get Sophy soon! How unrealistic is that? :P

Anyone knows if they still plan to continue improving and supporting Sophy in gt7?

I would imagine that further developing Sophy is very high on their priority list. Especially with regards to GT8. Having a really well functioning insert AI marketing gobbledygook is probably quite interesting from a marketing point of view. And ultimately it is and has for quite some time only been about selling units.
