Odd.. lots of people keep saying you "have to be" in the online lobby to feel the difference between slicks and wets, but that wasn't my experience. I simply set up the Arcade > Custom Race with real grip and there was simply no way of getting around the track on slicks. Note, I was in the heavy rain, but it was impossible to stop, go or turn. The "Arcade" and online physics in past games were largely different, but I don't find that to be accurate anymore.

Good video by David Perel on the new wet weather conditions. Will be interesting to see how the game gets tweaked over the next few months to see if they introduce any of the things he mentions (wet weather lines, slippy kerbs, aquaplaning when you are on slick tyres, etc.)

This guy's video is very interesting, especialy

Thank you for saying this, but except to get ripped a new one by fan boys who cant handle someone having an honest opinion

You know what update they should come out with.....Making AI at least some what competitive .....

Better idea, how about they both make the AI competitive AND stop the Top 2 from pitting before the damn last lap in every single GT League endurance race?

Ironically, it was the AI that pushed me in to the daily races.

I also find it funny that we're getting JDM cars over sports/ supercars.

Either one works. It's just TT mode that is off.

Completely agree! As you say 'Custom Race' is the key here.

After they added stuff like the Tundra and the S800, i really do not trust what car choices they make at this point

On comfort tires in rain I find the low surface setting more convincing than the real setting. Maybe I'll change my opinion the more I play, only first impressions for now.

Just given the update a quick spin... Man the GTO is smooth as creamy butter.

The rain, yeah.. LOL, decided to try it out in a custom GT4 race... Only about 24 seconds off the pace after the first lap. Don't think I'll be bothering much with that.

;)

Don't get me wrong, I think the classic Impreza is the car to have. But, the 22B is very similar to the VI. I think one if the others up to the new model would have filled the gap better ie bug/blob/hawk eyes or hatch.
As for the Levin. No. Put ANY Celica in there.
GTO. Nice, always a favourite. Saw one on the road just the other day.
S2000 also good addition despite the tuned one existing.
Silvia. Ok, but preferred the later 200SX.
As for rain. I don't think I've ever owned a car where I can see out of side mirrors due to streams coming off the wipers

Looking at how rain looks in this game now makes me regret having played Driveclub on heavy weather more than other settings, because IMO the rain effects on this game are really subpar.

Meh, free content is free content so whatever, I'll take what I can get.

you cant say that, drive club runs at 30 fps and gt sport runs at 60fps, and also if you look at the detail that pd has put into the fans and track stwarts that all have rain suits and jackets it impressive, i have yet to play beause i am at work but so far from videos i saw i tip my hat to pd and pulling out all the power of the ps4 and ps4 pro. cant wait to see it in 4k and hdr

also look at this photo i found

I have a strange feeling with the G29 under rain at RBR. With the news japanese road cars i've tested there , when you start a drift , the front wheel are feeling very light , FFB torque fall imediately to almost 0 force. It do not hapen the same on dry circuit.
I have to check with others race cars but it seems very strange to me.
Does it feel like the rear tyres are more planted and the car is almost in a reverse Drift?

The first 2 slots are like holliday on ice with racing tires. The last one racing soft perform like inter and rain tires.

I blame the bait and switch with Spa. I think a lot of people are frustrated about that and are further taking it out on the update.

I agree. The cars are nice and well done, as always, and revived my GT2 feelings. It's probably the cheapest update to date (I already have back my credits, by only racing the Daily Mileage).
However, teasing Spa with funny videos about people asking for it on Instagram and Twitter, and later showing it during a live race in the World Tour, and then not adding it to the game in the already announced update 2 days later created a feeling of disappointment, unnecessarily. If the track wasn't ready yet, they should have hold it back for Austria then, and the sensation would be much more positive. Not a smart move for PD IMHO.
And finally, I'm sure that when it is released it will be very well done and a blast for us, the method that I disagree.

It is a good update, not according to you, but according to many others, and like all other updates it’s free.

Forza 7 had hundreds more cars at launch, 120 tracks & dynamic time/weather on 3/4 of the tracks.

2yrs after launch GTS still has hundreds of cars less, currently 58 tracks, no dynamic time & has only just now added non-dynamic wet weather... to 1 track. The updates are free for a reason. Because mugs like myself paid for a quarter made game. I'm not saying it should be Forza or even near to it. But only 1 wet weather track (after years of teasing it) & 5 old jdm cars isn't a 'good update'. It's lackluster.

A certain YouTuber did stoke up his followers with a rather childish video criticising the update. That was well before most people got their hands on it.

That said. Now people are driving the cars, and particularly experiencing the wet Red Bull Ring, attitudes seem to be changing. Seeing lots of good feedback from streamers and friends.

The rain really does offer something genuinely different. Once we finally get Spa and Silverstone I would be quite happy just to get rain updates for existing tracks.

Forza 7 has dated poorly and needs a major refresh next-gen. Particularly their car and track modelling. Those ‘old’ JDM cars are icons and deserve to be remade in such exquisite detail. We all have our favourites. But I do appreciate each car being built to such standards. There’s nothing worse than cars having wonky dimensions & detailing. Same goes for engine sound accuracy.
