Here's a better view...

So much for that based on all the activity over the last few weeks :sly:

Yes i see the strict agreement is still in place for phase2..👍

They ask you a lot more than the previous form though. What GT games have you played, which one is the best? They also ask you to post your opinions and hopes for GTS.

So who ever kisses the most butt and has a way with words might stand a better chance at getting in!

I applied and did my best! I wasn't lying when I said I've played all of the GT games they asked about. Also - GT4 is the best GT game.

*Ducks and runs*
I mean it stands to reason that they want more opinions (and love) to filter who gets the beta, because the fanbase for GT in Europe is a bit higher than in the States, and I'm certain that there are way more people who applied for Phase 2 than people in America who applied for Phase 1.

The fan base in Europe is actually multiples higher than the American fan base.

It's incredible how many people haven't set up their TVs properly, given all the screens and videos showing those black borders around the screen.

Especially because it takes 5 seconds to fix it:

First of all, go on the PS4 home screen > Settings > Audio and Screen > Display Area. Set the display area to match the borders of the screen.

If you have already done this and/or still see black borders, then your tv is overscanning - and your PS4 is effectively underscanning in order to line up the white markers.
This is bad because it doesn't give perfect pixel scaling, resulting in a worse picture quality. At least in menus and replays: actual gameplay might still look pixel-perfect, but the HUD might be shrinked towards the center, or the view might be cut a little.

To fix this, go in your TV settings and look for the option that gives you 1:1 pixel mapping; then fix the PS4 display area again. The name of this option can be different from model to model: Full Pixel, Widescreen Full, Just Scan...
Is "Screen Fit" the same as 1:1 pixel mapping?

These black bars you keep referring to are part of GTSports replay, they contain the menu for the video and can not be removed. I would love for you to provide proof they can though. Here is the menu pulled up and when the replay is playing.

No, I'm not talking about the letterboxing (top and bottom black bars, ala Order 1886), but the black frame all around the screen!

It's apparent in menus and replays, and it's effectively squeezing the pixels, worsening image quality because the pixels aren't being mapped 1:1 (or 4:1 if you have a 4K display).
And while actual gameplay might look okay, it's possible the HUD is being shrinked towards the center of the screen, or the view is getting cut a little.

It's happening even in @GTFan24 pics above. And to many many other people who didn't calibrate their TVs

It could be, sadly the name is different from manufacturer to manufacturer. Try and see

Ok, that pic helps alot. I can get the side bars to remove on one of my television's and the other two I can not.

@magawolaz I’m not entierly sure the issue is the result of TV overscanning. It looks to me like the black border could be part of PD’s design. Watching Marvin’s early streams it appears that while gameplay fills the screen fully, some parts of the game (mainly menus and replays) do feature the black border.

That's because the "safe zone" doesn't affect the gameplay itself, it mostly affects only HUD in games and in this case replays too (it shouldn't although)
