Why?...... don't they go round ovals very well?.....hehe :D
I don't know about that, but the only Gr. 4 cars I have are the Scirocco (which is alright), Renault Sport (not as good as Scirocco imo), and the Alfa Romeo 4C (very unstable for me). The game refuses to give me an FR/4WD Gr 4 car though. I also only have 3 N300 cars, none of which are FR either.

Yay more vacuum cleaner noises thanks PD 👍

Edit, Tried 4 cars all from cockpit view (All sounded pretty crap) Ford Focus ST, VW Scirocco Gr4, Renault Megane Gr4 and VW GTI VGT Gr3, Sure the cars don't sound too bad from chase cam but that's not how a simulator is supposed to be played.

Think I'll go back to playing all the better sounding racing games I have if this is the best PD can do after all this time 👍

Wow, did all three tracks and I'm rather disappointed. Except for the new HUD, it feels like GT6. I can't feel the car on my Wheel (T500), there is nearly no FFB at all, event when it is maxed in the Menu. For the Sounds, I'm totally with @ghostrider135 ...Just terrible. Won't say anything about the graphics, as I have neither a PS4 Pro nor an HDR TV, but that was never a weak spot of GT.

But to beat that horse again, the sounds are just horrible. Together with the bad FFB, this game just can't do it for me. There is not the usual immersion that comes from games like F1 2016, AC or Pcars...

After 60 minutes on standard ps4:
  • Very much like GT6 but with graphical improvement
  • No graphical masterpiece.
  • Handling is awkard sometimes (n300 ff).
  • New Dragon track looks very unfinished
  • Sounds are improved but fail to impress
  • Lots of jaggies
  • Pop-in
  • Sterile atmosphere
  • Missing feedback from car when playing with controller
  • Bland and boring to play
  • Cockpitview works great
  • Présentation is second to none
  • The menus are slick and fast
  • Loading and prerace screens are very nice
  • Runs stable and framerate holds up well

So far.

Good.
  • Looks
  • N300 Evora handles well
  • Tactile feedback is good (bass shaker)
  • UI
Not Good
  • Race cars feel more than a little blunt and dull
  • Sounds better but not great
  • Cockpits far too dark

Completed some laps at Brands and Dragon. Presently surprised by the handling of the Sirocco and WRX. Still a lot of testing to do before I'm convinced but good first impression. I'm a little underwhelmed by the graphics. Only have a 1080p tv on my rig so haven't tried it on 4K OLED yet but it doesn't look great IMO. Sounds are a bit meh. However, it'll be how it all comes together in the racing both with AI and online that makes the differencnce.

Using a Fanatec CSW V2 with cronusmax and the feedback is plenty strong enough. Need more time to see how good the ffb is however.

I'm a happy chap. Feels great with a DS4; it's not quite "PCARS or AC, but with actual controller optimisation", but it's certainly the closest the series has ever been. A certain level of care and finesse is needed now that wasn't necessary in previous GTs. In particular the GR.4 Sirocco had me bamboozled for a while! A surprising challenge.

I really lik the new tracks. They seem pretty well designed, look clean and are satisfying to tour round. They fit well with the series imo. Dragon Trail reminds me of Estoril for some reason, I'm not entirely sure why.

Above all else it just feels great, after the traditional slog of waiting, to be going round in circles in a GT game again. 👍
