You may read this as I am blabbering.

So we are totally close to release time. We are nearly there. How are you feeling? Happy? Excited? Angry?

Whatever it is, as players, lets make Gran Turismo great again. Depends on you, do you want to live Kaz's vision for driving for another 100 years of motorsport? Or you could just treat is as another video game? Your call

Enjoy the game guys. *floor the pedal*

I cannot play immediately because important stuff lol...maybe on day 2, I also prepare day offs dedicated to GTS.

I don't know if this is the case for everyone's store, but I am supriesed by th amount of posters and ads for Granturismo at my local GameStop. I've never seen anything like this for a GT game.

I agree 100% with this. PC2's system is better, even though a bit harsh sometimes. A problem GTS has (or had in the demo) is that you can be racing against someone for a position who has a penalty to serve. This can hurt you because you'll be racing against someone who shouldn't be in front or you or right on you tail and maybe block you from getting to a better position further in the field.

30-60 sec without serving a penalty should at least give you a DT. In case the player would ignore that, immediate DNF. This would force cleaner racing. A system that lets you go to the finish line accumulating unserved penalties doesn't make much sense.

What is PC2's system??

I was thinking of purchasing the digital deluxe copy, but are there any down sides to doing the digital copy vs the disc, besides the obvious memory space required, but I do have a brand new 4 plus with only the GTS demo on it currently, so space shouldn't be an issue.......Right?

Disk or digital will be the same amount of space required. The game installs itself into the HDD either way. The disk is used for authentication purpose afterwards.

@baldgye Project Cars 2 penalty system :)

Ah yeah my bad, having not played PCars2 it sounds pretty fair, but it would kind of destroy the online races that have been available so far in GTS as they are so short. I think the time penalties are a good half step for these short sprint cup type races with like 5 or less laps... but drive through's, stop-go's etc would be really cool to have in a proper race.

but idk in my time during the beta, the higher my SR got, the fewer bumps and knocks I got. This however, could just be because of the kinds of people in the beta and the fact that my DR was going up too, so I was going against more competent drivers generally...

The add-ons when you get your pre-order installs when the time's up? It still say "Waiting to install" on my end. Also....ONE HOUR TO GO
That's normal for pre-loads.

They will install as soon as you start GTS for the first time.

It doesn't really cause any issues in races as the driver still has the choice. You either slow down or you give the place back (depending on the penalty you get), you will only get a DT if you don't do so, or you blatantly ignore track limits repeatedly. And you're only going to get a DQ if you ignore that DT, as such even with short races its not an issue unless you (as a driver) make it one.

What it does do is strongly encourage clean racing in a much fairer way and with more realistic penalties, its easy enough to see the difference in PC2 when you compare the conduct in rooms that race with penalties off in comparison to those with them on.

Scaff, sorry if I'm being an idiot but when exactly is GTS going to become playable, or at least when is it supposed to become playable? Either in hours from now, or a time of day.

My pre-order is for a physical copy, however for digital ones the counter you have on your PS4 will be accurate as to when you can start it and play.

Its important to note that this will vary depending on the release date and time zone you are in.

In the UK for example it launches on the 18th, so the digital version will be active to start from the moment it strikes mid-night and is the 18th. In the US the release date is the 17th, so it will go live at midnight tonight, as the clock ticks over to the 17th (quite literally 1 second into the launch day the digital content is live).

That's the way its worked for me in regard to WRC7, Assetto Corsa, PC1, PC2 and a load of other titles. I only ordered GTS on disc so it can join the physical copies of every GT title I have.

The game is now unlocked on my side. Once I started the game, update 1.02 comes out. 12GB in size. The game does not save my progress when I force-load it without the update.

A couple of screenshots, if I may (with spoilers)

I closed the game once I got the update so I'm not sure, but I could move around in the menu, though settings you will make at the beginning of the game (brightness, saturation etc.) will not save.

Could anyone check the patch notes for 1.02? in the PS4 menu go to GTS, press the Options button and then Update History, it should be there.
Can't wait to see what 12GBs adds to the game's already big 11GB 1.01 patch :P
