I'm tired of VGT cars as prizes. I think I've received 4 in a row now. Can I have some real cars, please?
Could be worse; for me the carousel skips over any decent car and lands on either Citroen or Peugeot road cars. I think I’ve only received the car I want twice and I’ve completed a vast majority of the campaign events.

Im a controller player using button inputs. How can you compare the wheel users to controller users if we are not told what they are playing on.
Im consistently running 58-58.5 laps on Brands Hatch so wheel users are running 56 second laps consistently??? The fastest I have seen in qualies or race is a 57.8

It is very apparent when someone is using a wheel.

But that is not always true, a good controller player might be 1.5-2 seconds behind a good wheel player, but a good controller player is on par with a average wheel player.
How can you tell in that case if it is a good controller player or an average wheel player?

It's a sixth sense I have.

Edit: On another note. Just got my first win. Lots of fun.

Need help with Blue Moon Bay 15 minute endurance race this race what a pain in the back side this race is tried god knows how many times can't seem to find the right setup i'm using a G29 wheel and this is the only event left to gold

What car should I use?

When should I pit?

What tyres should I use?

What fuel map number should I go with?

Any help would be much appreciated

I agree that controller users should have own lobbies and wheel ones have there own.
By the way I am enjoying Gran Turismo sport after playing most of them over the years it I think it great it going a new way now.
Just need it a bit more offline races and tracks other then it awesome

I disagree as I wouldnt be able to play online with my friends. If they where to introduce this it would be a game breaker for sure for a lot of people, Unless PD make it an option in lobby setup,

I did it with WRX, Pit at end of lap 12, refuel 9 laps, start with front:soft, rear:medium, change to soft/soft, fuel map 1.

Needed five attempts to success.

Good luck,
D.

Haha, that’s exactly why I haven’t bought any cars yet. I’m just going to wait until I’ve completed the Campaign mode. My bank account is looking great thanks to this strategy.

Has anyonr tried setting a "real life" lap around Nordschleife? I did in a few cars that have official lap times and I can't match it at all. I'm always at least 10 seconds slower in the game, even with SS tyres. Speaking of Civic Type R, it has an official time 7:50 and I do around 8:20 and top speed in the official video is 270 I barely do 250 so either auto manufacturers lie like hell or PD did something horribly wrong.

I'm torn on what to buy as my first car. I only have 1.2 million. I'm looking at the Jaguar Gr4 and the Aston Martin Vintage. I like 'em both, but don't know what to do. I know I'll have to choose wisely because I won't be able to get back in the millions so quickly like most of y'all, haha

While that's true to some extent a review can be a good indicator if the reviewer in question is someone you have shared opinions with of past games they have reviewed. If you have agreed with what they have said about other games they have reviewed then there is a good chance that you will agree with them on future reviews. I guess it's about trust. So yeah, if you have never read a review from a particular reviewer is going to be impossible to know if their experience will be yours but if a review is from a reviewer you trust then chances are you will agree with them.

True, when I'm interested in games I didn't follow at all during development (for example Horizon Zero Dawn earlier this year) then I always watch multiple reviews to get as good informed as possible and not depend solely on the opinion of 1 guy. I always start with the commercial reviews (IGN, Eurogamer, Gamespot, ...) to get a general idea and then try to swap to unknown YouTube streamers who are just gamers who got a beta or preview copy (in case the game was not released yet, otherwise the full game).

But I fully agree that over time you start to get familiar with some reviewers. I really like the guys from Inside Sim Racing, think they did a realy honest review of GT:Sport. If you want to watch it :

Are you comparing BTG times ?

Man, the time penalties in this game are bull. I got a 5 second penalty for barely cutting the final corner in Sukuka Short in Online Play. Rubbish, it was an accident and I may have gained .2 of a second at best. All the time penalties have been crap so far.

So apparently we can't switch on the windscreen wipers anymore. All I see in the options for button controls are hazard lights, right and left indicator, flash lights and high and low beams. No wipers.

You could have the wipers turned on in GT6, even in dry conditions.
I miss this feature. Wonder why they removed it.

You can put the wipers on....Ive done it a few times..:)

edit* ive just looked now and you are right it has gone...:boggled:

I suggest to not buy any car at all. I had 3.5 million from the digital pre-order (2.5 mill) and demo (1 mill) and I'm now over 4.6 million from all things combined not too much playing time yet (working week & busy weekend). The game rewards you with gift cars a lot of times and it would be really annoying if you first buy a car and then later get the same one as a reward. Most expensive cars cost about 1 million (all VGT's) with 5 cars even costing more, the Veneno is the most expensive one with 3.6m , the Vulcan 3m, Veyron 16.4 2m, La Ferrari 1.67m , One-77 1.3m.

You can get free cars from any of the following :
* If you play daily and drive more than the daily mileage workout
* career mode - complete a row of mission challenges in both driver school and mission challenges
* career mode - get a gold star on all track challenges for each of the tracks
* your birthday :)

The best strategy is to just play the game with the cars the game gives to you. At the point you start to have more remaining credits than the cost of the cars you still lack in your garage, then start buying them. :)

As for the individual cars, within Gr.3 or Gr.4 the cars all pretty much feel the same to me. I'm sure if I go more into detail on setups I will find differences but from a "just hop in and go" they all pretty much sound and feel very similar to me, especially when using the road camera view with the speedometers.

Guess I'll get that a try and see where that nets me. I think I'm on lesson 18 of the "Beginners" Driving School. Hopefully it gives me that Martin as a gift, haha! So far I've been getting 'meh' cars from the daily mileage and the two 'all-gold' beginners challenge. But I guess you gotta crawl before you walk. Or drive in this matter. Thanks for the pro tip! Slowly but surely, I'm getting hip!

Also the qualifications are reset.

There seems to be something wrong? I'm in a race now on Suzuka against the usual Cayman and 4C's.. That's strange because I only had the 4 cars I mentioned above to choose from.
