Hmm well it states he is supposed to be appearing as informational videos. I haven’t checked out the “Lewis Hamilton” museum, but I’m wondering if this content is there?

Thanks for the references
The only videos that are in his little section are the ones posted online of them announcing it.

I honestly don't know what he should be mentoring though... it would be nice if they had gated Sport mode behind a proper playable tutorial, narrated by Lewis rather than two condescending stupid videos

Anyone else annoyed by how it ghosts any car that's sideways in Arcade Mode?

I don't want myself or AI cars to be constantly ghosting in the most politically correct let's-not-obstruct-those-on-car-sponsors-manner the moment they go past 90 degrees.

I want that tension you get when you're left hoping that none of the AI cars will pile into you at Bathurst when you get it wrong going down The Dipper or McPhillamy Park.

I want the capacity for a track-blocking pile-up to drastically change the dynamic of an endurance race.

Not a fan of this Days Of Thunder nonsense logic for just going flatout through the tyre smoke and coming out the other side unscathed, keep that for the SR A-E races.

I suspect it'll come at a later date in the firm of a YouTube video or two. I'd be very surprised if it was anything other than generalities about sim racing like "don't overdrive the car" and "ease into the throttle" etc.

All that will do is cause more whining from the masses.

Looks like PD are doing their best to make the game as playable for everyone as they can, and reduce the mass complaining about penalties.

Dont quote me on this but Sport races dont use pits. Most of the races are a few laps so no real need to pit however if you go into Lobby, there each player will make their own settings to the track including fuel consumption, tire wear etc or 30 lap race so you will be using the pits throughout. Dont get down because of Sports mode....its not really working as it should. I suggest go for the "campaign", its addicting and online lobbies. I jump in Sport race from time to time but would not be my main play area.
I know you said not to quote you but I just thought I would let you know Race C today at Brands in the daily races requires a pit stop.

Question for you all...

I've got the following 2 Trophies on my to-do list:

I am currently a B/S driver and while the racing is fun I am consistently getting matched up with people that are either A/S or capable of setting Top 10 Qualifying times.

Although I am a skilled and respectful driver (pace-wise I'm in the Top 1% of Forza Motorsport players) I know I'm not going to succeed against these higher-rated drivers, I don't have that level of raw talent.

So my question is:
  • Should I "tank my rating" down to D/E, go for those (theoretically) easy wins and poles, and then work my way back up to my natural level to get good racing again?

It is possible to drop your ratings in a non-destructive manner (quitting on warm-up, dropping out of Qualifying etc.) which means I won't be ruining the races of others.

I'd love to get these Trophies through natural skill but I know I've hit my skill ceiling and by the time I could theoretically be good enough to compete on that level the playerbase may have dropped off and only the "GT Academy level drivers" would remain.

Been a couple of days since I looked at this thread, I opened it and it got me right on your post so kinda late to the party here. I don't know if it really worth it to tank your ratings as there is really no way to know if it is not going to get harder in the future to raise them back up. What I'd suggest is if possible for you, try to race at different time of the day. You'll start to notice when the faster drivers are racing and when they are not. So your chances of getting matched against other people of the same caliber increase quite a bit and if you are faster than them, there's your opportunity. I work long hours so I can't really try it during weekdays but on a weekend for instance, when I log in, say at 4AM, the aliens in my region are nowhere in sight and it is a free for all (disclaimer: I did that twice before and that's exactly what happened. In 4-5 races, my time was good enough for P1 in 2 races which I won and I alternated P2 or P3 for the remaining ones)

Either way will complain when anything is changed.
Please let us know when we achieve the hive mind and all 250,000 of us on GTP have a single life experience and a single opinion about anything. It'll be an earth shattering day. There's almost as much whining on GTP about people having different opinions as there are different opinions.

Its happened to me and my friend multiple times in different lobbies, idk if it's only open lobbies and not the Sport mode but I guess some people are luckier than others,

I’ve still yet to enter any open lobbies tbh so I guess I’m not a good comparison. Zero issues for on sport mode though.

I noticed this couple days ago but at the rolling credits, i noticed "NASCAR", "Pikes Peak" and "Jay Leno" which's odd since i don't remember any of the three being in the game.
Speaking of, two other names that stand out to me are Lingenfelter and Prodrive. Could we be getting tuning companies added back or maybe special versions of regular cars like in GT1 GT2 and GT5?

BTW where is Lewis Hamilton in the game? Before release they promoted him as your mentor, giving you advice on driving etc. Well im 80 hours in and just remembered that fact and Im pretty sure i havent heard anybodies voice or tips on singleplayer etc.
I recall the announcement coming pretty close to the release of the game. We can assume the partnership deal was signed close to that date and the feature is coming, in the usual GT way: "soon".

Why is rally racing in GTS, or any GT for that matter? It is continually the lowest common denominator (aside from Nascar in GT5).

Seriously... What the ****. Am I taking crazy pills? No one is ever hosting rally lobbies... The games sport mode doesn't even stage rally races.

Trim the fat for ****s sake.

*Shakes fist at air*

Someone... Please... Explain it to me.

I seem to have the exact same problem.

Can anyone recommend me proper ffb settings for my t150? I‘m not really happy with it and I can‘t find the right settings after some fooling around.

I'm in a similar position, approaching A/S, and considering the same. The worries are that the wins might not be easy:
1. race wreckers presumably more common, and we'd be in their firing line
2. if too many are doing the same, even the poles might not be easy
3. could be harder to get the SR rating back up afterwards

I've seen the odd quit from warm-up, one player for sure did it two races in a row, so there are some doing this already.

I just got my 4th win, 3rd pole, and 2nd fastest lap last night, after over 100 races. 'Eventually' they might come, but it is very, very far away! Especially since I prefer the longer races.

As a person who wants to get platinum for GT Sport, those two trophies would be almost impossible for me even though i'm currently at D/S.

i'm not sure about you but i find it hard for me to justify dropping my ranking since it took a while before i "raised my ratings".

Quick update on this.

I've dropped down from B/S to B/B and managed to get some Pole Positions and a few wins last night. I likely won't need to drop to C/C if I'm already getting results, which means I can rank back up to B/S fairly easily once I've gotten these Trophies out of the way.

Racing is still pretty clean even in B/B.

I have set torque at 4 and sensitivity at 9 i got used to it and to me it is well balanced. The Ffb is not to strong and with the high sensitivity I get a good feeling what the car is doing. I would recommend you to get used to it and not change it too often otherwise you’ll never get used to a setting and end up always fiddling around and always adapting your driving style.

It's probably because the rally physics are so appalling that no one wants to run MP rally races...not even PD!

I've been considering doing this.

Currently DRA SRS, and whilst I am getting occasional wins/poles/FL's, I don't get much time to race, and competition is so strong at A/S that it would take me ages to get the 3 remaining trophies I need for platinum (races/wins/poles).

Thought about deliberately quitting a few races, killing my SR, and picking up some easy wins in the lower SR levels.

Thing is, the racing at A/S is so good I haven't been able to force myself to do it!

Sooo kind of a first world problem, I know people call PD perfectionists and suchlike but on the Alfa Romeo Mito the front numberplate isn't straight on the mounting bracket behind, That's gonna drive me nuts.
wonky numberplate.jpg

See? Even Liberace was straighter than that is.

Did your DR drop a lot from the quitting out? I mean, there's B with a full bar, and B with an empty bar!

After some disasters in the Gr4 on Monday, it gave me a pity race last night - just me and two other B-S, with the rest mostly D-S. It was close between two of us - I started pole but lost it early on. Then got the lead back shortly after pitting, and we charged on to lap half the field with only a couple of minor bumps. I got my 5th win, but didn't quite manage fastest lap as well. It was sch-weeeet :D

The new physics update makes the rally mode much more enjoyable. That said, I don't understand the use of rally tracks. Why not build a point to point special stage or hillclimb?

If they do want off-road tracks, they need to be shorter rallycross style.

The rally cars/tracks all just seems like wasted effort for something that i don't see being utilized by players. I would much rather have more road cars/tracks.
