I thought it was pretty obvious Jordan knew in October at least the month of reveal..i.e. May.

He stated quite clearly he thought the announcement in Paris was a bit early.

Any way...My bet for the blowout date will be next Wednesday if before the rumoured 18th-20th May Beta event in London. The day after Uncharted 4 release.

Getting a bit nervous now and just hope PD blow my socks off! If my Football team can deliver against the odds (Elvis making a return had much shorter odds!) then PD should deliver too. :)

He's certainly known a great deal since day one, sure, remember GTP was the only site allowed to reveal the three game modes, if others were told they weren't allowed to reveal it. Which is great recognition from PD/Sony for the site of course. Whether the launch date was planned as May back then is anyone's guess but certainly he's been constantly kept in the loop while we've been left waiting and guessing. As someone in a similar position in a totally different profession I know how frustrating that is but it seems he's very close to be being allowed to spill some beans.

If it's a private event it doesn't need promoting, we as fans will just need to know it exists and that news will come out of it. I can't remember how well known the Silverstone event was beforehand but I don't think it was that much.
 
I just had a look back, invitations to the Silverstone event leaked on May 8th and then Sony officially confirmed it that same day with this video

It was never directly stated as a GT6 launch event however, although of course it was very strongly suggested. Given that there is no other aspect to this event like the last time it's very possible it won't be publicly revealed although then again since the game itself is no secret this time it may be.

If we are going to be told about it officially that will probably happen next week although I doubt Facebook guy would consider that news you were asking for. Plus of course he wouldn't be able to tell you anyway, he doesn't know it's already leaked out in part.

Well to me everything suggests it's going to be extremely similar to GT6 and 2013, the event itself will be private in the sense that nobody can just turn up and there are no live streams or anything but lot's of public information will come out of it immediately afterwards.

I think the chances of this event happening in total private with no information coming out as if it never happened because of NDAs are extremely slim.

One might even say I'm 99% certain. :P

No, because that E3 was all about the then brand new PS4, it didn't make sense to dedicate much time to a PS3 game.

Well at the moment all we know about the event is some GTA guys will be beta testing GTS there. I'm pretty sure the staff know much more about what the event holds.

Although of course GTS will run across the two. Let's hope for big news, more footage at both events. Could be an exciting GT couple of months!

Well indeed, the Neo is still a PS4, all games they show will be for both and it seems highly likely GTS will be a key Neo title. I don't think having this event close to E3 is purely by chance, it makes logical sense to build the hype with this first event and release some information and then a full on presentation at E3, probably with a release date. Especially so when you've not said a word for 6 months.
 
I kinda hope but that could be the long lasting fanboy in me they surprise friend and foe with a beta announcement at e3 and then they'll say like you can play it right now after download for everyone worldwide,i really hope so cause right now in my opinion there being lapped multiple times by the competition with updated car lists case in point being the mclaren mp4/4 from senna himself being present in forza 6 ebay dlc,soundwise we still don't know if it is up to scratch or on par with other sims out there on the market eventhough they got that ed caviezel chap that did the sounds for the 1st five forza games,in short that beta/demo has to be pretty amazing and beyond to make a lasting impactfull impression to restore the console sim throne gt had for years cause right now the pie is divided to others that are still taking a chunk out of it for now.

  • I think it was. 15th of May it was I believe. I could imagine the beta test could be like the recent F1 2016 beta test - the invited people go there and get to play a certain build of the beta, which basically is close to be finished, just to maybe find some minor bugs. The players then play the beta and report if any bugs or glitches are still in the beta. If PD can, they maybe even fix these bugs and glitches right there in there in the UK, if not back in Japan, after the beta test, and provide the players with the new build the next day, and so on.

It's possible that we already have the news through the leak about the beta. Maybe the private beta is the news they were referring to.

Well it seems highly likely he had that event in mind when he said there would be news in May, we still don't know what this event will fully entail though. It surely isn't just an event for GTA people to test the beta, there is obviously more to it.
