A true beta is supposed to have all of the features but not necessarily all of the content. So it should have those three single player modes, all multiplayer modes but it probably will only have a fraction of the events. Plus of course if they don't plan for a feature to be in the game day one it won't be in the beta.
Not really

Beta is a specific term in software development that means you're at the feature complete stage. All features should be therefore be present in the full beta software.
Dont play with words, or you actually didnt participate to differents beta to know what features they incorporate in diffetent Beta

What? How am I playing with words by literally stating what beta means in software development? I'm aware that many free PUBLIC beta tests only incorporate the multiplayer aspects of the the game but generally speaking if you're given beta software it is feature complete. Obviously most single player games don't require public beta testing but they do exist, usually sold as such however, not free. Free ones as I say tend to have all features but not all the content.

Anyway as I say to my knowledge nowhere has it been advertised as only a multiplayer beta. In fact I vaguely recall Facebook guy tell someone that the beta would be free but may require PS+ for the online aspects which in turn would suggest the SP features will be included.

Today, a studio isn't obliged to include all the features in a beta. The very vast majority focus on online.

For GT Sport, we will probably know more in two weeks.

Somehow, after all, it feels like GT Sport will be a much bigger game than I originally thought. So in that sense the beta would absolutely include single player portions too.

I think the public "beta" is just going to be a thinly disguised demo with only 2-3 tracks, 4-5 single player races and most of everything else locked out until the full retail release.

Probably because the vast majority of "betas" are no such thing today, they're merely marketing tools. That is why I said a genuine beta piece of software is feature complete, even if some of it is locked out when given to testers.

If they gave us something like the GT6 demo plus a bit of online then no, that would not be a true beta. I don't expect that to be the case.

Well you replied by the meaning of this word, but that s mean nothing, especially in our conversation, everyone here ( i guess) already know it.
Why i initially quoted you, it s because nowadays developers tend to not offer the same model of 'beta', some is for online, some for experience of the game, some for debug etc it depend how they want our feedbacks
Yes basically it s at a complete stage of features, but like i said, i can be locked ( i talk about features, not contents ) so we can expect to have a beta with limited feature, or with full feature too
And no, Beta by word speaking, could be for multiplayer only too, like SFV
At this stage we dont know what kind of beta we will have

Noup, that would be true if it was like Divison (and many other games lately), released a month before the actual full game. This will be ready to play on that event in less than two weeks, and if it gets released to public this month that would give them approx. 6 months to deal with issues assuming the full game gets released this december (which is preety resonable assumption I think). This kind of online championship focused game really needs the proper testing in beta phase especially since they have dedicated servers now.

Oh you're not disappointing me at all my friend, but you are still confusing me by insisting you're taking a neutral stance here

Just to be clear, I don't care what stance you take. I only replied because you sarcastically paraphrased me, not because I care whether you're the glass half full or half empty guy...

Not sure what I said that gave you that impression but here are my thoughts about GTS and you can draw your own conclusion afterwards.

Although I'm a late comer to GT I bought a PS3 for the sole purpose of playing GT5 and I did until my eyeballs almost popped out (although it had its flaws). Pre-ordered GT6 and still play it from time to time (racked up 81,000+ miles so far). I felt that GT5/6 did not deliver as much as they promised so I decided to take the "wait and see" approach when it came to future GT titles. So far it has paid off because had I bought a PS4 I would've been upset if I got it following news that a GTS beta would be coming out early 2016 without knowing that a new console was in the works. So I will keep on waiting until the "next" console comes out and I read some good reliable reviews in here before making a purchasing decision.

So far all we know is there will be a beta "testing" happening in a few weeks and that is refreshing to hear because I personally thought the beta would be delayed (or perhaps even cancelled) due to what that French reporter (sorry I forgot his name) had said after he visited PD. But still, even if they give us a release date at E3 I won't be jumping to buy anything.

Yes I love GT as much as the next guy so obviously I don't want to see them fail. And although I can't prevent my mind from joining the hype train whenever a plausible one hits the station, I can assure you my wallet will not be following along that easily.
You say you don't care about my stance, but you still reply and tell me I'm not neutral. That's the problem with the internet, someone automatically knows you or your intent better than you. I wasn't being sarcastic by giving a winky face. Best save your time by not quoting me. I probably won't read it since I limit my time on here. Just giving you a heads up.

What is faster? A GT6 A.I. or a cat with T300RS?
Depends on which pussy is behind the wheel.
