Don't get carried away, the beta isn't going to be publicly released before this London event otherwise it's be pointless flying people in to test it there. It'll just be confirmation and full details on the e ent I'd guess.

Although people have been suggesting that there would be more to this event than merely testing the game, like some sort of competition. That would be something that could be organised, and would be worth organising, regardless of whether the beta was publicly available. Polyphony have organised these eSports events between real racing drivers before, using GT6. That being said, you're probably going to be correct, but it's just an interesting theory that people had been floating before.

Yep it would be pintless to release beta before the event...

I agree, but then again, the leaked invitation letter did call it "the final beta event", which can be speculated as meaning that there will be something taking place before May 19th.

Maybe there will be a time trial event like GT Academy, and then finalists compete against those invited to London (which appears to be racers and people closely affiliated with GT)?

Of course this is all speculation, but the usage of "final beta event" in the invite does open up possibilities.

Seems like way too short notice.

Also I can't see them just dropping the beta without a promo spree first, people aren't going to notice it.

Good point, but then again, this is PD, who just suddenly launched the course maker without prior notice, asides from a GTPlanet post a day before... with GTP staff members now cryptically building up hype (which they rarely do if I recall correctly), I think there's a high probability of something happening before 5/19...

In any case, we'll know for sure in a few hours!

Yeah but GT6 itself already existed, this would be a beta for a game we know nothing about, I can't see it just appearing for download and we have to find out what it is ourselves.

My bet is still just an official announcement of the event but as you say, we'll see.

I think that we should not pay attention to the word "final" ;)

I agree with Samus (yes, you don't dream), I think it will be a news for the event
