Well if you go on the simple notion of there being an early, mid and late part of the year then it is anything up to the end of April.

Expecting the motion sim to be identical to as before (Toyota SF-R + VGTs at Fuji, it seems) and the video to be the same trailer as before. I just get the feeling that a motor show won't be the right place for a brand new trailer. I know Gran Turismo has had a presence at the Tokyo Auto Salon in the past, but to what extent? Did they ever reveal new content or trailers there?

To introduce a car, I believe it's already happened

Hmm. We're not quite at the playable demo stage of GTS yet, it seems, so can't see that happening so I certainly at this stage of the game's life (when there are far more important details to be revealed than the addition of a new car, unless said car is so important and significant in its addition that it gets its own trailer).

"More in depth than a prologue" doesn't leave me with much faith that it's going to be a full game, assuming that $40 price tag is actually accurate. At this point, why even be so vague like that? It's just odd. If you ignore the price that is being thrown around, then the meaning can go both ways, really. I feel there's going to be some tension if it turns out as such.

I have to keep pointing this out, but they haven't said at any point, "more in depth than a prologue", they've very specifically said, "more in depth than a Prologue". Prologue with a capital P is specifically referencing the Prologue versions of GT games like GT5Prologue, not the small p prologue general category of game. In other words they aren't saying it's not a prologue type of game in the general sense, they are saying it's bigger than GT5P which was launched with 6 tracks and less than 40 cars. They are specifically saying GT Sport will have more than 6 tracks and more than 40 cars and will be heavily focused on online although not exclusively. So if the game was launched with 10 tracks and 100 cars, mainly race cars, they'd be fulfilling their promise. I think anyone expecting this game to be anything close to a full Gran Turismo game is going to be very disappointed.

I didn't think of it like that, and like you mentioned, was just thinking generally. That's a good point, and I think it's even the second time you brought it up to me  The vagueness just bothers me.

I know I've mentioned it more than once but I don't recall who it was to:sly:. It's a pretty fine point I know, but it seems to me they are going to great lengths to be pretty vague about a lot of stuff but at the same time, specifically always capitalizing that P:dopey:. Bear in mind, I'd be more than happy with 100 cars and 10 tracks as long as everything works, the game looks great, the physics are as good as they are claiming they will be and the racing (and netcode) is there. I can see a lot of people that have bought into the "it's not a real game if it doesn't have 1200 cars and I don't have all my standards" mindset being disappointed though:(.

I hate it when they set expectations too high (I mean obviously we all do). Absolutely no game is going to make us fully satisfied no matter how good the graphics/physics are. I don't care if PD is late on something or never makes it; it's a game that I enjoy playing, and as long as it's enjoyable, it's good enough for me.

While this may not be a main series game, I still don't think they'll limit us to where it feels like a demo, because it isn't supposed to be.

But here's to hoping that they release a second trailer/gameplay demo before beta comes around (but not expecting it entirely soon)

Less cars and tracks I guess :(

Hold on here guys...

1. I'm pretty skeptical when it comes to Facebook messages, so I'm really iffy on this

2. Less cars =/= no standards

Well who knows, we don't even know much about this game.

Kaz said he didn't want to toss the standards just yet, so it basically means they'll return in GT7, like @Ameer67 said. I just hope they bring back the most used standards / most "important" ones, like the Kenmeri etc. and upgrade them to premium and then ditch the rest.

I actually think this is a new model approach that will allow them to bring all of the standard cars and old tracks up to premium level. Release something that's like a full game experience but with less content, and then build up the content over the years. They're wiping the slate clean again like they did with GT3, except they aren't calling it a full game like they did with GT3 (which only had 180 cars compared to 6-700 in GT2).

Hopefully anyways.
