Progress in gameplay? There was nothing to say much of anything about, that is the point. There was nothing new or standout in gameplay, nothing to wow. No weather effects, no night, no damage of any kind, no tyre marbles etc, it just appeared to be GT6 with new HUD and overall better graphics.

Hence, disappointment. I'm not disappointed by what I saw, rather what I didn't. I expected to be wowed.

Flags are new. Could be a nice feature if done properly

As much effort they put into this event, I was expecting way more information than what we got. I have so many questions, all of which get progressively scarier.

The stream answered most of the questions I had, and I'm on the fence now. Reserving my judgements for the final game, though my first impressions of the event build were "meh..."

Yeah, with damage. Flags and safety cars are a bit pointless if all cars have rejoined the race within a few seconds because they're invincible. The start of the ring race was silly, no cars were blocking the track and with such a huge lap anyway a caution was totally unnecessary.

But I won't lie, I would like to drive a pace car.

You know, at this stage, I wouldn't be surprised if PD started phasing their games in to straight up photography simulators. Hey, at least its something that hasn't really been done, right?
They if anything, can teach about amazing photography.

Well, the photomode has always been my favourite part of the game since GT4, and I went crazy in the GT6 forum. This new camera is by far the best thing for me about the game.

Finally a game other than Tokyo Xtreme Racer that has the Tokyo highway system. I'm stoked just for this road alone! Wonder how much of it is in the game and if there is night/weather options.

Well, if they do include route 5 or R246, then that would be a nice amount of Tokyo for me.

I do maintain that not a single developer understands Photomodes as well as PD. Driveclub's is interesting, but not as fully-featured.

My one question is essentially answered even though it wasn't directly addressed. Still 16 cars in an online lobby. :(

The atrocity that I wasted hours watching just to see a few neat looking cars and the ability to say "yes, this is a lovely damn tree".
I'm sorry, but what exactly were you expecting? They announced a full livery editor for God's sake...
Edit: also @Samus would you not consider a liver editor "progress"? I'm sorry but this game to me is looking truly amazing and you guys will always try to find anything to be disappointed about. Maybe if you had more of a positive outlook you would actually enjoy this game...

Although Gran Turismo Sport looks great, all I really want is Gran Turismo 7 with the same old arcade mode, simulation, tune shop, car-wash, wheel shop etc. Unfortunately, it looks like Gran Turismo 7 probably won't come out until 2018. Hopefully Gran Turismo Sport will be able to quench my Gran Turismo needs.

That's probably what took this game three years to make, right?

Well that settles it, then. No one has a right to express displeasure in product they'd have to purchase with their money, and why? Because a livery editor has finally been announced.

Check your privilege, folks. You won't be told again.

I think sony should give the franchise and budget to another talented studio .. Then maybe gt can battle again against forza. Japan devs dont seem really technically in the game anymore

Apparently it's taken them way longer than that. Haven't they apparently been working on one since before GT5, according to that one image floating around

Wouldn't be surprised, given that it took them so long to develop GT6, which was basically just an improved GT5

When your main rival has had a very good livery editor for their past three games announcing your own livery editor is not really progress, it's catching up ;)

The real progress seemed to come in better car models and a truly amazing looking photomode.

@GTracerEHTeam
16 is good enough, I could hardly ever get 10 in GT6 or 5

Being on the management team of a club and odd time event host, even 1 more spot would be nice. Until about last fall we routinely filled up lobbies within the first hour and only the final race of a night would see a drop from max sometimes. We usually run for about 3 hours so the fewer people that need to be turned away the better.

Too late, the ones who could have done that are toast now. PD is sticking with the series for the rest of the lifespan, it's their baby.
