So the name above the car, Isn't enough?

Strictly speaking, a floating name above a car isn't as realistic as a custom livery. Y'know, if we want to focus on realism.

I guess I can be different. Can I?

Sure. Nobody's telling you you have to like it. The issue here is you suggesting it's wrong, and insulting others for having a different opinion.

Also, stop double posting.

I love driving my authentic looking Gran Turismo 1-2 race mods on F6, I recently found a very well done Opera S2000 replica and just had to have it.

What's so bad about that? I could make the same car an S2000 LM, GT logo proudly displayed.

The first time I saw the Harley Quinn Chevrolet SS I had to have that livery too.

Of course it is not necessary to race, we could play Night Driver with some physics tweaks and some would rave about it.

It adds another layer of enjoyment to the game. Something to do at your own pace, a labor of love...

I have never said that you must share what I'm talkin about. What I wanted to say was just I don't get the fame about the livery editor.

Actually I am like you too.And I would like to see,at least a good-basic guide,if GTS is anything close to a sim racing game (meaning having advanced set up options.)
Of course Pcars helped me a lot.Not because they have a guide, but because the game "forced" me to start learning a few things before getting into the actual racing. And the better you understand all these, the faster you get.
The only "bad" thing is that it takes a lot of time and a lot of efford to do that*.

*Only to realize that there are always faster guys out there,no matter how much better you get.
I think the physics can be super realistic even without the need to implement hundred of setup parametres, the important thing is that the physics feel right (gran turismo 6 i think is pretty good, and with gt sport from the things that we heard for now, is going to be alot better).
Sorry my english

Hatsune Miku liveries everywhere :)

Far from the boring liveries of F1 today. We can only hope the livery editor is as powerful as the Forza one. "Hope" because the latest features from Poly were lame : track path editor, base model or B-spec.

Poly better bring something new the next days! I don't want to see again the same 5 tracks.

Hatsune Miku is a really hardcore game and I like it but not at the livery.

Lets not forget the other famous anime liveried car:

How is this a bad feature?
Even more when GTSport will be a heavy online racing game, people on racing leagues will be happy to have a unique car, that's a good thing.

Advanced track editor (curse creator) would be much better than this.

Livery is just silly ego thing nothing else.

Do you know how long it would take PD to implement a course maker into GTS? I imagine at least two years and by that time, GT7 might be about ready to come out. I could care less about a livery editor, just as long as the game itself is good.

(curse creator)

First: you're wrong. It's been covered pretty thoroughly in the thread already.
Second: Tell that to every racing driver.

What is sexy is cars shapes not this heroin.

It doesn't seem like this is sinking in.

Are you actually comparing the ability for players to visually customize cars in a video game to a an addictive drug known to ruin lives?

That says a lot more about you than I imagine you intended.

Expecto petroleum!

What I like about the livery editor and liveries in general is that it makes every car unique, both on the grid and track. There's this special word called diversity, something me and many others truly love because it brings difference. Can you imagine how boring it would be to see only one livery on every car? It will make watching motorsports in real life and in racing games dull and tiresome, despite some drivers having incredible skill.

For a guy like myself who has a big (and I mean BIG) imagination, livery editor is certainly needed to not only make a car feel like it's yours, but also liven the car grid and watching replays enjoyable imo.

I'm not a fan of the livery editor or even the photomode! In fact I have taken zero pics in my gt6 career, and the only time I have ever painted a car was so that I could enter a race series that required it.
I will never use those features in gt7 and don't like the idea of having to pay for those features development, the game could have been sold for less if those features weren't included.
I would prefer that gt7 left the customization the way it is in gt6 and spent their time and development money on a FOV adjustability in cockpit mode, or a new track, or anything that has to do with driving rather than posing.

to be honest I don't care about motorsport at all I just love Gran Turismo entire of my life I just wrote what I think man.

Until I get to see the livery editor in action I will remain very skeptical of it. Not sure if it's much more than a set of deconstructed 'official' liveries that you can make a 'custom' livery with or rebuild the official one.
I certainly hope it's much more than that but I think the information and images we have are too vague really to definitively say otherwise... and then there's track record. :indiff:
For now I'll not get my hopes up and maybe will be pleasantly surprised.

False dichotomy.

I feel the exact same way: showing off 'building' the livery we've already seen on the R8 set off some alarm bells for me, but I won't make any decisions until the final release. In my head, there's no way PD would offer a "livery editor" that works as you've described, but then I think about the one-use paint DLC (or how painting was handled in GT5 in general, really), or the track creator for a game that isn't actually available in the game. That being said, I'm almost positive we'll be hearing more about the feature from PD themselves over the next few months.

Can I ask why my post was deleted? That was truth.

It had nothing to do with GT Sport.

Ok. I'm white and I really like black women. I'm a fan of GT since their beggining. I'm really looking forward to next GT. It's not happen very ofter when GT releases. Thank you guys, thank you GTP for news. It's another great time just like before GT6 was. Yeeeeeeah.
