Hatsune Miku liveries everywhere :)

Far from the boring liveries of F1 today. We can only hope the livery editor is as powerful as the Forza one. "Hope" because the latest features from Poly were lame : track path editor, base model or B-spec.

Poly better bring something new the next days! I don't want to see again the same 5 tracks.
I would totally rock this paintjob in an online race. It seems stupid I know, but it is very unique and I like that a lot. Which begs the question - how about a Pokemon themed car? Oh boy, now I'm being silly:P

Anyway, the Livery Editor will unlock so many more customisation possibilities for me and others who wish to use it. To say that you don't want one when soo many people have wanted it is ludicrous. It will be a major talking point throughout the game's life, and I will certainly have some fun with it. What I will come up with is yet to be seen, so look out.

What I like about the livery editor and liveries in general is that it makes every car unique, both on the grid and track. There's this special word called diversity, something me and many others truly love because it brings difference. Can you imagine how boring it would be to see only one livery on every car? It will make watching motorsports in real life and in racing games dull and tiresome, despite some drivers having incredible skill.

For a guy like myself who has a big (and I mean BIG) imagination, livery editor is certainly needed to not only make a car feel like it's yours, but also liven the car grid and watching replays enjoyable imo.

So,if I understand your points correctly, motorsport is exciting because cars have sponsor liveries and not because of the machine and the driver? And without sponsor liveries racing is dull?

Yeah, that group of silver SLS AMG GT3s in Marron's picture is exactly why I'm glad GTSport is getting a livery editor, it gets boring seeing the same livery on a race car so many times when racing in GT6. A livery editor gets rid of that issue.

If GT Sport gets a livery editor that similar custom applications to Forza's, it means more variety in the race grids and it goes from the repeat of silver SLS GT3s to this:

It's getting to the point where I can't really tell race photographs apart from game photos.

So awesome :D

I see so many comments about not being hyped etc and that's fair enough if it's your opinion. I however do not agree and am 'fully hyped' leading up to GTS despite still occasionally playing PCARS, DiRT Rally and having had my first go on AC.
Rest assured people, GTS will be amazing.

Aye, agreed with you on this.

Got good mileage out of PCars, Dirt Rally, Driveclub, but still hyped for this. Especially after playing it in London... :)

You played it? Damn, now I am jelly. The great thing about competition is that the consumer has all these awesome games to try out. I will probably end up with Dirt Rally, DriveClub, Project CARS, Assetto Corsa and GT Sport by the end of year. I think it's fantastic that so many games are available now.

Actually I am pretty confident that GTS will be a great game.At the same time,I am pretty sure it will not be as hardcore sim as other games (iracing,Pcars,Ac ext.)
In other words it will not be a true sim racing game. That does not mean it is going to be a bad one.It will be one of the best in its category (simcade).

Although this is only my opinion, but kinda yeah. Gonna speak for myself here, so here goes.

I like to watch track days and hillclimbs mostly for different machines and driver skills, but I also like seeing different colours and liveries as well. Cause you know, variety of designs that makes every car feel different. :embarrassed: @RandomCarGuy17's post above is a pretty good example of this. :)

I also sometimes like one make races mostly for driver skill, but it be somewhat difficult for me to watch one if every car were to look exactly the same (although number plates carrying different numbers would help, but nah). Therefore, making it dull for me.

Hopefully this clears things up on what I stated.

And me. But it's almost a burden now (not the game), so many uninformed requests for such things as drag strips that I've given up putting my two penneth in to adjust such expectations.

Livery editor? Great, if it's all powerful and doesn't pale in comparison to Kaz's explanation of it: create and share your own. He definitely said that.

I keep banging this drum but for me we really need to see how the matchmaking, sportsmanship, driver level, class parameters play out in what to me is the core of this game?!?!?

Also exciting? Not really but hopefully you get the picture.

Fair enough.

Sorry if I wasn't clear enough. :P

Oh also I edited my entire post haha. Apologies.

I got your point the first time mate.(before editing)
I dont agree with you but everyone can have their opinion

*The same cars with different liveries does not feel different. They look different.Livery variaty, like you said, helps in terms of "looks",on that we agree.

And so many more questions too. After that info splurge, came the weird takedown, and then nowt since.

Makes you wonder what gwon, as no-one probably says.

We're just in a typical PD silent period, they only really have two modes. Full on blast of PR and details or absolutely diddly squat for weeks. They don't do the slow burn, occasional tease/trickle of information as other companies do.

You know that this happens when you actually have nothing to show. But at this point,I only hope that GTS will not be a bug fest as similar titles are these days.

Fair enough, I guess I'm fairly new to their PR style.
I've played all GT games, but never tracked an imminent release before this one.

What I cannot grasp is the fact that you need to shell out a full high end price for this. I'd expect lesser price for a game that's not on main series main series like GT5 Prologue and even have lesser content in comparison.

How much would you charge then?

Let me see. The current price for a really barebones GTS is 60 Dollars (Correct if im wrong. Approximate price). For GT enthusiasts thats fine i guess. But for general players, the price is relatively excessive for what basically a side series.

$30-$40 is perhaps a much of a deal considering the content.

And how much content would you need for it to seem like 'normal' value, and not a 'side series' title?

I was arguing about the price, not the content. As a side series, GTS is actually fine on its own.

Not being sarcastic mate, just interested - it's a genuine question.
How much more content would it need to reach that 'normal' level, for you...?

Content has nothing to do with the price.
It is a PD game, with the GT logo (and FIA),so they want people to pay for a full game.
Actually I cant understand why people think this is a "side series".If fact,if they get top sales I cant see how they'll go back to what many describe as "main series" type of game(unless they want to have 2 main titles at the same time in the market).

They are only 3 months from going gold. Most of the tracks and cars should be complete or close to it at this point. There's nothing preventing them from doing teaser shots of tracks and/or cars to keep the fanbase excited and guessing. Assetto Corsa seems to be setting the current standard for teasing and keeping the fanbase engaged and anticipating and they are just a handful of guys and gals on a skimpy budget with nowhere near the marketing ability and clout of Sony and PD.

We know they want people to pay full price, some people are objecting to it on a value basis based on the content and features of previous versions of the game. They have a point. The last game had 8x the cars, many more tracks, an offline career, customization, online racing etc.

Thats true mate.Kunos does that. But on the other hand they are adding new content to their released product. They need to advertise it for old and potentially new (not only on concoles) customers.
PD has not yet released their product. They have showed the main features of their product and they are trying to finalize it.Do you really think they are keeping something secret in order to surprise everyone? And even if they do,why show it now and not 1 or 2 months before release?

GTS is in a bit of middle ground. It's obviously not bare-bones like a Prologue which is typically ~50 cars and ~6 tracks and not many core gameplay modes. It's also clearly not as limited as a game like MGS Ground Zeroes. Games like that you simply can't get away with charging $60 in this day and age even if technically nothing stops you. Games in the past used to be shorter/smaller but we're not in the past, expectations have changed.

On the other hand though it's not as full of content as is expected from main, 'full' GT games either. The numbers are just about big enough though and personally I think they can just about get away with it being full price, with the FIA competitions and leagues/championships online etc.

Obviously in the end it'll be the customers that decide it's true worth though, as with any product.

Yeah as I say, PD have just never taken that style, or the style of revealing the content with teasers/clues as T10 do. Just not their way of doing things and whilst it makes the run up to launch pretty quiet and dull any long term fan must be used to it by now.

Are they holding back a big, new, secret feature? Who knows? But they don't have to reveal any major secrets at this point, content would be enough. A cool livery or two made with the livery editor would send a large part of the fanbase into a tizzy. A little snippet of a tail light or car fender or mirror. An interior shot focused in on a seat or dial. T10 does it, Kunos does it, others do it. It keeps the fanbase engaged and interested over long periods. They tell their friends, their friends might get excited too and think about purchasing the game. Hype, it works, that's why so many companies in so many industries do it. It's a missed opportunity IMO.
