Okay bro... No one claimed they were bullet proof, but they're not easily going to be axed just because some people on a forum think it will be, considering PD has had delays since GT2 and they're still doing it, logic would be against you. Also you factor in the Japanese culture as well, and a mutual respect for what Kaz's group has brought Sony over time, it's not as simple as you'd like to see it.

Easy bro, no need to have a go. Just a casual observance to show that they may be in danger of being axed as everyone is these days yo, 1st party or no.

What's with the slang/text speak? Also having a go, with what? You seemed to have trouble understanding the reason I pointed out why PD have more padding then most companies these days who are first party devs. If you think a delay and ambiguous 2017 TBR/TBD is going to cause them to slip away into the shadows, then why not back during GT5 mass delays? Once again PD have done this since GT2 and each title after (bar GT6), with varying degrees of said delay.

And mostly using the same rhetoric of "well we feel that we want to give the fans a game that is 100% and somewhat late, rather than a game that is 85-90% and on time".

Weirdly, I understood your point. Crazy I know! It was super complex and everything.

The thing is, bro, I disagree, and stick by this:

This is the videogame business bro, no-one is bulletproof!

No one is bulletproof but Kaz is far more protected than others by being a corporate executive on the Sony board.

.Yamauchi's infatuation is genuine, and he's put himself in a position to indulge it. The success of Gran Turismo has allowed that, but so too does his seat on the board of Sony Interactive Entertainment. Yamauchi, it seems, answers to no-one but himself, resulting in his series taking its own curious path. What was once the poster child for PlayStation has mutated in recent years to become a bizarre passion project

Where is that quote from? And despite the boardroom seat, the videogame biznezz is way too fickle and fast-moving to accommodate someone no matter what, you know?

It's not like I'm even saying it will happen, just that it is possible, maybe.

It's from Eurogamer if I'm not wrong. Yep, before GT was something cool with rock/industrial music and "mysterious" cars from Japan when internet wasn't popular. Poster child :)

GT nowadays is something strange for a child with lounge music, "scapes" and a slow pace in general.

Yes I would agree with you generally speaking, I was just noting that Kaz is in about the strongest position possible for a developer to avoid the chopping block. He also still has his other trump card at the moment, big sales. If GT keeps it's high budget but suddenly starts selling only 2-4 million per game things definitely could change.

@queleuleu is correct, EG.

Ah cheers, also @queleuleu - I thought I recognised the quote.

And also, some people here are saying: "delays? so what, that's happened before, since GT2" or whatever, but that brings me back to what you said the other day @Samus - that the horrendous GT5 delay is still having a negative effect now.

At some point, they have to sort this mess out, right? And I can't see any evidence it's happening. In fact, quite the opposite.

Well, yeah. But if we're talking about anything that is theoretically possible no matter how unlikely then that seems a bit pointless. Polyphony could technically put out GTS tomorrow, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

At least if people restrict themselves to things that are reasonably feasible it cuts down on bollocks. Polyphony being shut down would be a massively unprecedented move. I would be less surprised by Sony letting Naughty Dog go, and Naughty Dog are probably one of the best developers out there.

The direction of GT Sport may have changed but very little seems to have done with PD. They may have grown, but their old habits will apparently never die.

I mean what happened to the Pit Stop blog? Predictably, it has been mostly forgotten. Last English post was for the launch event in May. Pathetic.

Something will swing in our attention.

Talking about the first party studios made me think. Naughty Dog is a first party studio, i don't know their size in numbers of employees, but ND is today one of or the most prestigous game studios in the world.
So i'll assume that the numbers of people working at ND and PD isn't that different.

On the PS4 we have The Last of Us Remasterd and Uncharted 4 from ND. Both brilliant games. And we have nothing from PD. Maybe(probably) the fact of Kazunori being in a high position seat in Sony is in fact harming GT games delevopment.

GTS will come out in 2017, when the next GT game will come out? I know it looks crazy to think about the next, next GT game but, i can see the PS3 era happening again, GT5 came too late, GT6 came waaaay too late, days before of the next gen console release so...
I think is time to someone give a "slap" in Kaz's face and make him wake up.

I don't want to buy a Xbox One but, they have their beloved Forza to play, while us... we have to be satisfied with only some Scapes shots and gameplay videos?

PS4 pro Announced, pre orders cancelled no show at TGS (So far) does anyone thing Kaz has seen the new Specs of the PS pro and went "We can make super duper premium cars guys lets delay!" no but seriously sony need games to sell their 4k tvs and also the playstion vr does GT sport not seem the perfect fit for the PS4 Pro ?

I'm pretty sure Kaz has known about the PS4 Pro long before it was announced. I'm not too convinced that's why the delay has happened.

I could be wrong but it seems a bit more substantial than that, the Pro is peripheral to the PS experience. All it takes is an update to add support if necessary.

Nope, poly must be one of the first studio in the know. Just mismanagement.

Kaz would have seen the specs for the PS Pro a year ago or more and yes, I think the initial plan was for GTS to be the big title to launch with PS4 Pro. It's surely no coincidence the release date was 15th November, five days after the Pro. Unfortunately for Sony it obviously wasn't ready.

I guess the silence after the delay is dued to something concrete during TGS.

Hopefully we'll have at least some infos like "We had to delay the game because XXX but we hope to release it in XXX"

I know the official new on the site was quite similar but i think they could say something more detailed

From the iffy google translation it looks like it'll just be another "pre-season" test event like those we've already seen at other locations, but this time with Super GT drivers. More than likely running on basically the same old demo. If the game really is more than 6 months away they're not going to be back into full on promotional mode again yet.

Cayman with 911 back??

911.jpg
Mazda 6/Atenza ?? :D

The video like many of here are saying, is just marketing for the PS4. The yellow car is an hybrid of a 911 and other thing in the front (MR2?). The cars in the back arent with badges.

All done to not angry the brands.

I hope to see something new like Super GT cars at Suzuka (let me dream please) Instead of showing the same old build, give us some answers about the delay. Thank you.

Again, I seriously doubt the appearance of SuperGT cars because GR.3 already kinda look like SuperGT and we haven't seen their dedicated group already.
