but sadly there aren't new tracks

Hopefully, there is/are feature/s to compensate for no new tracks...(aside from cosmetic changes on the "old" tracks if there is any)

Note my comments below are to the tracks...

I maybe too hasty to come to a conclusion, but tracks are the most noticeable/large feature from old build or whatever (besides new cars), so......

My interpretations from this news (no new tracks)
1. the game is coming out soon...so they are keeping some things up their sleeves, so as to surprise later...
2. They are having serious problems with the delay and they cannot be bother with coming up with new builds at all

My guess is the latter....pray my guess is wrong

Either way, i don't think that this reflects well on them......

I don't know what to say any more. I feel like every time I open my mouth or pull up to the keyboard where GT is concerned I only have bad things to say. It makes me sad. GT was the jewel in the gaming crown for so many years for me. Yet I'm sitting here in such anticipation of Horizon 3 believing it could be my favourite game of this gen and I feel almost the complete opposite about GT.

Very sad indeed.

I had high hopes for this after Copper Box. Now it's all just a bit depressing. Huge PR fail.

Personally I'm more optimistic about this game given the delay and the improvements I've seen after Copper Box event. Hopefully should have updated tyre model, better sounds and make better use of the Pro. Most excited I've been for a new GT game.

No new tracks? Since May?

What a bizarre and excruciatingly lengthy PR gaffe this is...

:(

Yeah I agree, I remember that the old GT5 builds we saw in every show are all differents for tracks and cars, here's only few new cars and different menu/ hud.

How did they ever think this game would be ready for November!

Game still look the same like copper box. And we never saw that "seattle" track (remember, it was displayed at copper box )

No change on the Tokyo track, Poly seems quite happy with this lifeless world. Based on what we have seen, I fear some bad reviews for GT...

I don't like this track. They could use old Special Stage.

Agree.

Another event, another round of the same content. Similar to @PzR Slim - I really don't know what to say. It's best if I say nothing at all, because I'll end up going on a mindless rant as par the course in GT discussion these days.

Very sad as it stands, that's all I can say.

Same for me. Hope Kaz will show new trailer and new things!!

Very sad indeed.

Is it too hard for Kaz and PD to make a decent game? I mean, I like GT6 and the idea for GT Sports, but they can do a better job.

Guys, thinking about how GTS was delayed, it co.es to my mind that it is really awkward.

PD and Sony kept silence for a long time a from then showed a trailer and right after gameplay, release date and started the PR for the game. Something really wrong must happened and what comes to my mind is;
Damage/weather not being stable e enough.
Some kind of problem with FIA.

Set a release date so close and after 3 years of delevopment and then change it, cancel the pre orders and don't say fhe reason. It just not right with the fans and consumers.

New video (along with others from this channel) on Gt sport at the TGS. Build is different because they change the loading screen , but sadly there aren't new tracks.

Jesus Christ the AI is soooooooooooo bad. Not only are they painfully slow (so much that you can crash, come to a halt and still overtake them 10 seconds later) but they're also constantly bumping into each other and the player. Absolute lack of spatial awareness, not that it makes any difference with those laughable collision physics and lack of damage.

Poly please, stop showing GT in this state... And don't be surprised if people are laughing at your game in 2016 when it looks like GT5 with HD (boring?) graphics.
It's like GT6 but on PS4 without dynamic TOD/weather. After three years of development.

I can't take GT seriously with this kind of collision. Not a matter of hardware because Toca on PS1 was far better than GT, just a game design decision.
Absolutely agree, before every corner i was literally terrified even touching the grass. (Croft was the worst)
quick reminder here at 9:30 and see how much afraid i was the next lap :D
also 14:35 is a good example how a mild touch of grass should work :

or here at 4:05

Just to not be entirely negative, the lighting on this video, and the road surface texture and detail is pretty great :D

Maybe it is, but it does not make the game a ''game''. Also shadows still works weird (look at the green's car wheel at 0:49 for example)

Back to the drawing board PD, you've nailed the visuals but go back and figure out what racing games fans actually want in a racing game.

The problem with all things that happen right now is because PD still think their game would sell in big numbers and still giving us the same content for over years with just minor changes. If this continue, than I can see the time when GT have to say goodbye because can't promises what people want. What we want is something different, even some fans can't feel the exact difference between the latest and the previous games. If I have to give some advice than please PD, move on. Being grown up and follow the trend, hear and listen to what people want and yes, we know GT considered as the pioneer of sim racing, but that day has gone and now it's time to move forward.

One more thing, if they have to end the journey, than I would likely appreciate it because they already give us some of the best memories in our entire lifetime.

They'll still sell in big numbers though, they live in their own bubble and it doesn't help that they don't have competition to eat into it's sales.

Everyone has to figure that out, not just PD. Looking by the game which GTS gets compared with more often (FH3), there is no real "Racing fans want this and that". Just a general idea of better physics, AI, etc, but the rest is still a mistery. A percentage wants tuning, while others think it has no place in a racing game. Some want road cars, others don't care for them and almost ask for them to be forgoten. Some want a good offline mode, with a good AI, and then there's some who don't care for offline (so they don't care about the AI). Some want more cars, some more tracks. Some think that it's the right number as it is right now. There are those who think the physics are great, others that want them perfected. There are casuals, players who play this games often and the hardcore sim racers. At the end of the day, no one can really tell what GT fans or racing fans or casual players want...

People pick and choose what they want based on the strengths of the game they've chosen and the weaknesses they choose to ignore.

Treating the fanbase of the racing genre as a single entity is pretty pointless, the day every racing game aims to be the same thing is the day the genre becomes stagnant. One could argue the unbearing trend to be the most realistic racing game is killing the genre slowly since everything becomes an indistinguishable mush.

Where's this generation's 'Blur'? Or this generation's 'Modnation Racers'? Where's the big money AAA releases that aren't just vested in realism? All I can hope is personally things become a bit more varied.

GT unique strength comes from its stellar visuals, excellent presentation, and relatively great music to listen to. The gameplay, even GT5 and GT6, is actually decent fun.

Its just they're slow, lack of new things like new cars and tracks. Not to mention good career mode. We expect a GT4 magic. GT4 is quite possibly what PD capable of at maximum potential.

Something must have happened at Poly. They are silent, no screenshots from Gamescom in the official website, no article in the Pitstop blog, no new direct feed video as promised, nothing on their social media tools (not even about the delay!) and now nothing special at TGS.

They had a lot of screenshots from Gamescom but like you said not on the official page and I don't see a problem with that.
Maybe they have something special at the TGS stage sep. 18.

If all goes good than I can finally test GTS next week:)

Perhaps after complaints of earlier builds of tracks looking poor they're only wanting to show the more completed tracks?

Perhaps the AI setting was on low, and they didn't look to me as if they were constantly bumping into each other, it does look as if they made mistakes though, which is realistic IMO.

They have the game playable at TGS. Saw some vids on Gamersyde of it. Mostly same stuff we've seen, though.

I have been saying this for months! In fact, I believe this is what killed the flight sim genre. These products are video games for the masses! May we never forget!

We have already seen that outside of GT and Forza, the sim racing venture either requires crowd funding (Project Cars) or is relegated to niche buyers (Assetto) when it comes to the current consoles. I just think the genre isn't healthy nor is it some mystical "golden age" of driving games.

No one is reinventing the wheel here (no pun intended).

I actually worry about losing Gran Turismo or Forza one day.

Exactly. Not everyone enjoys the game the same way.
Having "better off track physics" doesn't necessarily make the game "better". Maybe more complete as a Sim, but for the ordinary player it will make no difference if it is the way it is now or ultra realistic. Maybe for some, ultra realistic physics might make the game too difficult to enjoy, leading to frustration instead of joy. We can't forget, this is a mainstream title/series. GT and Forza are the Battlefield and FIFAs of racing games. They could aim for ultra realism, but this games wouldn't feel fun for the regular player. Imagine ultra realistic FIFA? Pretty much unplayable for 10 min. matches. Or Battlefield, where sand slows you down compared to tarmac/stiff ground, you bleed after get shot, etc. That wouldn't make the game better, instead it would restrict the player base.

Both GT and Forza should still be the middle ground between full on Sims and Arcade games. Somewhat realistic to an extent, but without loosing the fun factor. The moment people acknowledge this, the fuss wont be as big as it has been. After all, the biggest complaints about GT5 and 6 were the sounds and the standards, for the casual player.

Video on Brand Hatch, the driving is OK. It's really fun to watch :)
I did find me wanting to try the game with those cars. Driving with the top down and pushing the engine to the limit in a roadster. Perfect.

With GT force feedback, I think they should correct the left right swinging of the wheel with no hands. I really think its the reason it takes so much time getting used to a wheel on GT. Its not a sensation we have when driving real cars.
