At the beginning, they said that GT Sport will be on the PS4 Pro event @london this week. So we will see some PS4 Pro GT Sport gameplay

Oh yeah, I decided to whip out GT4 the other day just so I could relive those glory days that I desperately want to come back. 11 years on, this game is still top notch and when you have all this tech nowadays, how is it possible that PD have gone BACKWARDS? What the heck changed in that Tokyo studio? Kaz' ambitions got the better of him? So many questions arise when a game from 11 years ago gives you more pleasure than a game from 3 years ago. Or a game from this current gen for that matter. PD really are screwed if GT Sport is a major flop, I tell you.

Same thing can be said about NASCAR games.

Attend a replay at Nurburgring in the GT Sport and tell me: PD have gone backwards?

They haven't gone backwards it's just PD glory days are over
Fired GT6 up for the first time in a year on my new 48" non 4k tv and itstill looks top notch. GtS should lpok amazon but i am sure they could have ported gt6 over with even an extra 20-30% better scaled models and it would have been enough!
Just fix the octagon exhausts :yuck:

Yeah man... the 90 deegrees wheela rotation is awfull!
I never got why they GT and FH choose to do that. I believe that the handa animation in DriveClub are the best i've ever seen do far...

Tangent: why are the steering animations in GT and FM limited to 90 degrees? Like, is there a good reason for it because it's an odd design choice if there isn't.
Yes it is too small a range but I think it's because you're racing. Seen many races with 900 degree parallel parking steering?

I wouldn't agree that GT5 or GT6(especially) have gone 'backwards' compared to GT4 at all. I think they're almost objectively superior games. I would argue that PD might have gone backwards in relation to their competition though, which at the time of GT4, was pretty much nonexistent, which kind of makes even that a hard comparison.

I do think GT Sport has the potential to be a truly 'backwards-heading' Gran Turismo, though. I can see a lot of backlash at the lack of single player career and lack of upgrading, both from users but also professional reviews. These have always been HUGE parts of the series and what I imagine has helped sell it to the millions of 'less hardcore' racing fans out there over the years.

They haven't necessarily gone backwards overall, they just haven't (as of GT6) gone forward. GT6 was almost the same game as GT1 at the very core. You buy cars, pick random events from a list, do some licence tests and that's about it. Even a lot of the events were the same. That's fine in a game like F1 or FIFA where you're limited by the real event/sport you're emulating but for a fantasy game like GT they had so much more freedom they didn't take advantage of.

This may finally be happening with GTS but we'll have to see.

Not really non-existent. Forza Motorsport 1 and Enthusia released at almost exactly the same time.

Well since GTS is coming to my hometown, is there anything anyone wants to see gameplay wise?

If there's any new cars that weren't in previous builds, that would be nice. Some cockpit view gameplay of some of the lesser spotted vehicles would be great, such as the new WRX STi, the Gr. 1 Hyundai VGT, the Gr. 3 F-Type... no-one seems to have really driven these yet. Thanks, by the way. 👍

If possible, the onboard sound of Renault RS. 01.

Hahaha alright guys, I'll try to bring as much people with me as I can so we can try out all of those cars...
