GT SPORT supports PS VR, 4K and HDR on PS4 Pro.

this clearly shows how much of a liar Kaz is... the guy has been asked several times about GTS' support for PS4 Pro (Neo at the time) and he always answered that he doesnt know a thing about such console... he could have just not comment on the question instead but this just reflects on his personality which is a shame

When they asked him, PS4 Pro didn't officially exist. He had no right to reply....

clearly you dont know how business talk work... you dont lie to your customers if you cant answer the question...

the way to go is not commenting on the question or tell something interesting that will make the interviewers pay their attention to.

btw I highly doubt they mean native 4K, probably just an upscaled 2K resolution just like all the other Pro titles.

He couldn't talk about the new system (since it was a rumor back then, and was kept a secret), so obviously he had to lie. If he simply didn't answer, people would take has a "yes, there is such thing as a PS4 Neo, but he can't talk about it". It's the same with movies and products yet to be revealed. A simple "No" ends the speculation, not answering just feeds it even more.

No need to take this too seriously.

Im not taking it too seriously, just saying, Kaz is a liar in my eyes for many others things, not just this :)

still, I love GT series to death so... :D

4K native ?
Don't know, I guess we will find out soon™. Can see in picture, a 4K box.

Kaz is master of evasion. Obviously he knows and likely more than most (Can see by following quote from an AMA over 2 years ago), he was just being humorous.

So regarding the next generation PS4 and beyond, there's always ongoing research going forward at Polyphony Digital and Sony. There might be some technologies that may change the world and until recently I was thinking that video games might reach a saturation point but I found out that there's much more to come and much more to look forward to in terms of technology of the future -- not that I can discuss any details right now.

Well that is surprising to nobody except perhaps @Saidur_Ali

Also I note that slide doesn't specifically mention GT Sport, nor does it carry any of the branding. Interesting.....

I hope you're right and it's not just a graphic charter for every GT presentation.

No words so far for 1080p?

Hard to make out from picture but if that's the case then good choice, hoped they would go down that route and seems most logical option. Should allow better detail while keeping FPS high for the whole game. 👍

Hopefully we get a new trailer soon™.

Yes, it's blurred. But we can see "checkerboard" :) So I gather that they use the same method as Guerrilla Games on Horizon Zero Dawn.

And anyway, on AAA, PS4 Pro isn't powerful enough for native 4K.

The original PS4 was powerful enough if you ask Saidur.

Wow, actual news about GTS. Eonder if my TV support HDR.

Well technically it's news but it's nothing we didn't already basically know or expect.

If your TV isn't 4k it doesn't support HDR. If it is 4k, depends how old it is.

I think @queleuleu is saying the slide could be a general one pertaining to GT's future on PS4 Pro and beyond as a series, i.e. a roadmap for the future of GT games in general, including 4K and HDR as future technologies. What you were suggesting, however, was that it pertains directly to the next GT game (which, if the theory that it's undergoing a restructuring/rebranding is correct, may not be called GT Sport, hence the lack of specific branding).

It's a bit like that slide that was floating around in the early days of the PS3 pertaining to future GT features - no-one was really sure if it was a general statement of future ideas and technologies or a specific reference to what was coming in GT5.

Yeah but how old are those banners? Just something to throw up? I'm not saying it means anything but I certainly found it curious that the brand new slideshow presentation just has the GT logo and just says 'something something for Gran Turismo on PS4 (Pro)'. Especially when you consider it seems unlikely there will be multiple GT games on PS4.

I see, well It could be a roadmap for GT series on the PS4 Pro, sure, but as I say above are we likely to get more than one GT game on it when the first isn't releasing until 3-4 years into the console cycle?

What you were suggesting, however, was that it pertains directly to the next GT game (which, if the theory that it's undergoing a restructuring/rebranding is correct, may not be called GT Sport, hence the lack of specific branding).

That is what I was getting at, yeah. Either way I think it's interesting how they've presented those slides.

"Guys, we need to show off GT Sport on the most powerful, most advanced PlayStation in history. What visually stunning location should we use? An immersive Green Hell? Brands at sunset?"

"Sir, I recommend the endlessly gray corridor that is the Tokyo track."

"Brilliant, you get a raise!"

...

Joking aside, after seeing the difference between usual FH3 and FH3 with HDR, I will say it's quite the difference. I'm sure it'll be equally as stunning in GT Sport. Then again, graphics have been the one (and increasingly, only) area I haven't been concerned about with the new game.

Yeah but that is the difference here, sure it's the start of the PS4 Pro but it's not the early days of PS4 overall, we're three years in. It would seem curious to be talking in a general tone about the future when the console is 3 years old and a specific title has already been announced.

I suppose things will be a lot clearer when the press are allowed to tell us what he was actually saying.

GTSport at 4K at 60 FPS is something I need in my house, someone buy me a 4k TV.

Edit: does that massive PS button light up? that's seriously cool.

edit 2: did they mention the benefits for HDTV owners?

I totally agree. It's too late to be talking generally, and I don't think there will be another GT game on PS4. The chances of it being general are unlikely, therefore, which begs the question - if we're talking specifically about the next GT game, the one which we know to be Gran Turismo Sport, why are they being so coy about what that next game actually is in their slides? It would also explain why following that Copper Box presentation, there's been so little information - no trailers, no real new content (aside from a handful of cars and one track, Fisherman's Ranch), because we're now looking at a transitional period where GT Sport is becoming more like GT7.

When we consider the fact that GT Sport was first unveiled over a year ago, the big Copper Box info blowout was in May, and we're now mere weeks from the original launch date, and yet we saw barely any more of the game between GT Sport's unveil and Copper Box, and barely anything between Copper Box and now, that does seem odd. In the run-up to GT5 we got loads of trailers, demos, prologues, and screenshots, even though the gap between GT4 and GT5 was much larger than GT6 and now. We had GT HD Concept, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue in various "Specs", the GT5 Time Trial Demo, boatloads of trailers at E3 and other shows, interviews... and yet we've had precious little on GT Sport. Is that because Polyphony isn't considering launching the game we've seen thus far? Even though GT5 was delayed and delayed, they still showed us what was coming at every opportunity. Now, GT Sport seems almost taboo to actually discuss or show off. Is that because things have changed dramatically behind the scenes and they aren't ready to show us? Who knows. This could all just be the ravings of a conspiracy theorist... 💡

Same banners than Mass Effect Andromeda.

I think his point was that the banners could have been made up months ago, and used for various different events since then. When you look at Polyphony's "conspicuous in absence" references to "GT on PS4 Pro" rather than "GT Sport" specifically in their slides (and why wouldn't you take every opportunity you could to promote your latest game?), that does seem... odd.

Well even if they are brand new it may just be easier to use that name because it will also still be on the menus/demo and they're not ready to publicly reveal the name change yet. With the slides they haven't revealed any change but it's certainly curious they're no longer directly referring to one game in them. They always have done to now ever since GTS was revealed.

I/we could be completely wrong of course and GT Sport will launch as-is in 2017 but it piqued my curiosity. As I say, perhaps when we find out what Kaz was actually saying, things will be clearer.
