EDIT: Late to the party. Already spotted by queleuleu.

If you can see past the laughable compositions with the real AMG GT, another sign of Interlagos. This time from PlayStation Italy’s Twitter.

My first thought was coming out of the chicane onto the front straight at Suzuka.
I don't recall there being shrubs on the inside of the track there though.

We can see a race at Suzuka at 0:42

There's also video confirmation of the 24hr layout of Nurburgring at 2:00, not sure if we had that before; it seemed like an obvious inclusion but I only knew of exclusively GP and Nordschleife confirmation shots.

24hr layout was confirmed a while ago....

Could the answer to everyone's disappointment be in the title itself?

Since it's 'Gran Turismo Sport' & not the typical GT 5 or 6 (which would be a wholesome package of world circuits, cars etc.), wonder if PD have just kept limited tracks with all the fast racing cars only & no the typical hatchbacks, saloons etc. as this is a Sport version of the game.

Even tough in the prior GT versions, racing was the main ingredient but it feels as if in Sport, they just want to focus on the best racing cars on tracks which could induce the best racing possible.

No way I could buy that. There are 20 different locations just in a single Formula 1 season! With great variety- everything from from Monte Carlo to Monza. And that's Formula 1 with very strict FICA requirements. GTS we're talking sports cars. Dozens of locations in GT3. Dozens in German Touring. And so on through the various types of car in the car list. And as to "the best racing cars on tracks which could induce the best racing possible" how in the world can you have something like the "Tokyo Expressway" in and dozens of tracks brilliantly designed by the best track architects in the world over the last few decades left out.

There must be some technical limitation- or more likely cost-cutting one- that's giving us such a tiny number of tracks.

Or even more likely knowing PD, they've calculated a way to make us pay for a reasonable number of tracks. At two-four per "Game Pack" your cost for the game will have way more than doubled by the time there's anything comparable to other games on the market or GT5 or 6.

I think it likely somebody's gotten way too greedy. This is sure to be the first thing brought up by the competition.

Rick

BB Raceway better not be another freaking oval.

Both the car and track list are pretty disappointing. Journalist need to ask Kaz/PD what the DLC plans are, and whether or not it'll take another 2 years to release one track.

Hey Vspectra! IMHO trainspotting is a lot more fun than watching cars drive around an oval. And the career mode or whatever'll probably make us do it. In sports cars. I hope they have nice CD players.

I know Alonzo did the Indy 500 in some stunt for Honda, but the fact that he almost won in his first drive on that kind of track and in that kind of car kinda says something...

Cheers, -Rick

1. Please refrain from double posting, you can quote multiple posts in one reply.

2. Alonso nearly won Indy because he's a world class driver, and he was given one of the best pieces of equipment on the Indycar grid. Just because he was new to ovals doesn't say anything about the difficulty of an oval. It just shows that he's one of the best race car drivers on the face of the earth at the moment.

I guess it has to be said again, and this is a general statement for everyone in the thread:

THIS IS NOT A DISCUSSION THREAD!

Is this guy serious?
Since Kyle has forwarded us all here from the article he just posted, I will discuss tracks all day long here.

I'm sure Spa will be added at some point, and many thanks to Kyle for the great article.

To be fair, the "No Discussion" disclaimer was in the original thread, before the track list had been spun off into its own thing. But yeah — you is wrong, @GTRacer22. :P

That said, @redrick - double posting is frowned upon here. That's why we've got the Edit and +Quote buttons. 👍

The list should provide good racing but is a little disappointing in my opinion. While I greatly admire Polyphony's brave decision to take the series in a new direction it does feel odd to be playing a Gran Turismo title that doesn't include Trial Mountain, Grand Valley and High Speed Ring.

The racing is going to be good and everything looked and handled great in the Beta (even on a controller), but this is the one part of Gran Turismo history I am going to miss. I don't mind losing the traditional "zero to hero" career mode as I can get that in Forza, but those iconic tracks only had one home and for now it looks like they're gone.

I understand why Fujimi is not in Forza 7, a track that long with 4k textures is simply too expensive and don't worth it gameplay wise in Turn 10 eyes. But Trial Mountain, Grand Valley or Deep Forest? They're all seen like the epitome of GT, what is the best in a GT. And they are normal tracks in terms of length. I can't understand the "vision".

Track content appears to be very light this time around. In fact, it's missing my favorite of them all, Spa. Perhaps they will add in lots more down the line but might cash in on DLC. I hope it's all within reason though as GT6 had a fantastic selection of tracks right from the get go.

That track list is extremely disappointing and the nail in the coffin for me. Not interested in anything except Interlagos and maybe Willow Springs, all the other real world tracks are played out as hell, they have been in any other sim in the last 5 years and have been replicated well time and time again. Also I cant bring myself to be interested in fictional tracks anymore, sorry. Especially when those that I drove in the beta were all kinda boring to drive.

There are so many fantastic real life tracks that are still relatively uncommon in racing sims. Potrero de los funes, Bilster Berg, Pacific Raceway, etc etc etc. Why not replicate those for a change, instead of wasting your time on weak fictional tracks? There was a time when I was really looking forward to GTS but now... 👎

Agreed and thinking back to what information Kaz has given about future DLC.
We won't have to wait like GT5, after release we should see a "steady stream" of content "at some point"
I would imagine Spa wouldn't be an unreasonable assumption, along with Tsukuba.

I don't know man, I just don't know. I even preordered the Japanese version of GT5p because I was so excited, then bought three copies of the US version to race with family and friends.

I just......don't know. :(

I wonder if PD and SONY will feel the same sinking feeling that I have, after they see the first month's sales and amount of players not playing.

Adding insult to injury for me this guy celebrates that about a third of the "currently conformed tracks" are dirt tracks for rallying. I'm not into dirt track at all, though I'm all for everyone having something of what they're into, but really...

at about 2:30 in.

I expect DLC real soon after release. I have no evidence for this. But I think it may happen!
It's the key to GT Sport's success. It could add lots more content, which is good since the majority is underwhelmed by the quantity in GTS.

There's a big chance that most of the post launch tracks (if there will be any in the first place) will be FIA certified tracks like Spa, Monza, Red Bull Ring, Silverstone and many more. These tracks I just mentioned were tracks that were featured in GT5 and/or GT6. And there's no way that Grand Valley, Trial Mountain and Deep Forest won't be added post launch. Hell, even Midfield and Apricott should and could be added if (enough) tracks will be added.

And where's Laguna Seca?! It's the first bloody real world track to ever be featured in a GT game!
