Decided to enter on the backup/daily account as well, as I wanted to test out the Renault after the Bop & physics changes. That account has a higher DR currently so ended up in a faster lobby than my main AMG account.

Slower in qualification - car felt better through the bends but could only manage a 35.6, P12 in this lobby. I use the brake zones but for some reason it was missing at turn 1 - too late on the brakes, ran wide and dropped to last. Managed to get back up to P11 quite quickly but the pack ahead was already around 6 secs down the road. Took 10 laps to close that gap. Managed to pass a McLaren only to spin out on the same lap, at turn 11.

I use TC pretty much permanently so this hasn't happened in a long time. Was only running TC1 in this round, vs TC2 for the AMG, as the Renault felt a lot more stable out of the lowspeed corners. Took another 6 or 7 laps to recatch the McLaren, only to spin out again on the exact same corner. My fault - tyres were fine (and loads of fuel left - the Renault sips it).

Cruised home after that for P11 and about the same points as my P6 in the AMG. Did like the Renault, maybe a bit down on power but very consistent. It suits the way I drive, so may end up using it for the proper season.

Entered the first time slot in NA. @Gearbanger was in the same lobby. I was surprised to see 6 "A"s in the lobby which justified my 15th Q at 1:35.732. My Ford would have been 2 laps short on fuel so right from the start was fuel saving and trying to preserve my tires. It was clean racing at the back of the pack. Spun once on my own and fell to last. Afterwards just concentrated on my race, figuring tires would start to fall off towards the end. Made up 2 places from people pitting, the rest I overtook as their tires fell off. Finished 12th for 83 pts.

That was definitely work not play today. As I got my SR tanked this week in Daily Race C I started in a Field of B/C and B/B drivers.

Did 4 very similar races Qualified Mid-Pack P4 - P10, got pushed of and spun or drove sh** and spun.
Drove on from P-last and collected positions from other unlucky people and finished P8 to P10.

BUT all this boring driving brought me back to B/S.

PS: The McLaren felt very slow on straightline speed compared to cars like Porsche or Nissan GT-R.
Will probably skip Daytona or only do one race to see how bad itbreally is.

I haven't done any online racing yet since getting GT7. I noticed for today's race tuning is allowed. Is that only for adjusting your brakes or can you tune other things? Thanks.

Nice to meet you. Yeah it was a tougher lobby and nice job regaining some positions after the spin.
I didn’t realize anyone pitted LoL. I did one practice race in a lobby last night to see how tires and fuel would do and I ran as hard as possible all race long today because the practice race went well with tires and fuel to spare. If I hadn’t done the practice, I might have been trying to fuel save, not knowing what to expect.

congrats on the p12 and bringing home 85 points. The higher points available are the reward for a tougher lobby!

I’ll try and watch for you in dailies and the rest of this short season. 🍻

People pitted at Interlagos?!

I ran slots 2 and 4 in the Supra racing concept, GT2 high B/S. In both races I turned to fuel map 2 from around lap 4 to lap 23 and had fuel to spare.

Slot 2 - Q7 to P9 was a write off as I got shuffled down in the first lap melee and then was sideswiped off the back straightaway while trying to cleanly take 11th on lap 4 or 5. Had decent pace I felt, just too far back to recover.

Slot 4 - Q9 to P6 was a really fun and clean race! Pretty much a race-long battle in the midfield for 4th through 8th. Ran as high as 4th, but ran out of talent.

I’ll try and watch for you in dailies and the rest of this short season. 🍻
Thank you, you won't see me in the dailies as I avoid them. My online racing is primarily in the official type of series like GTWS, I am looking forward to the Toyota one coming. I hope to see you and more GTP compatriots in the future, at least I can anticipate a better race with people who care.

In my race 2 people pitted, the second one pitted possibly around lap 20 or so, I did see he only had 5% fuel left.
Both people who pitted never got close to me afterward.

1st GT1 A/S Americas lobby of the day went bad. I am with Hyundai and was expecting to be a second off the MR cars in qualy. What I wasn't expecting was a room with me, an Aston, a couple Supras and twelve 911s! So obviously my 1:44.2 had me down in 13th.

Got punted on lap one. In the second half of the race as people's tires started going away I started gaining. I was up to 9th with five laps to go and P5 only a few seconds up the road, everyone struggling. A P5 was certain until I got punted again. Finished 11th for 131 points.

This was the first time I've been punted in GTWS. It's tough not being at the sharp end of the grid because of the car. I don't want to go again but will have to. This is going to be an excruciating short season against the 911-fest.

GT1 A/S lobby

Had to do a bit of fuel conserving and brake bias all the way to the rear. I was braking sloppily the whole first 1/2 of the race and then had to clean it up to make sure I had enough front right left to finish....which was pretty close to being fried by the end.

Q'd 4th, faded to 7th as my front tires were pleading for mercy.

After the disappointing slot 1 Americas GT1 I took my Hyundai to slot 3. Similar-level A/S room as before. @Egghaus88 was there (and nearly put me into the wall on the front stretch)

Qualified 12th but the opening laps were chaotic again. On lap 2 I got sandwiched on the infield straight and punted. Didn't lose that much time but was last place now. A couple of laps later I had made up some positions but a tussle in front of me broke out and I got a 3s penalty for passing under yellow BECAUSE PD I CAN'T SEE THE YELLOW FLAG IN VR!!!

Back to last again and with the field more spread out, I began picking people off and crossed the line in 9th for 151 points. Better than last time but still leaving me frustrated.

Post with YouTube links has been updated.

Just out of curiosity, who else here is crazy enough to run all the slots without a break?

@Pfei I'm sorry I didn't realize how close we were, especially after I watched you be the meat in the sandwich on lap 2. I struggled to find any kind of pace around this track, after a poor P14 start I only gained 3 spots to finish P11.

I entered the warmup lobby yesterday and ran 3 laps then backed out. These 3 race "seasons" are just totally pointless and doesn't engage me at all.
It feels like, as a fellow team mate said, daily races with limited time.slots.
have to agree with you. For an individual race I can have some interest especially these 3 in Manu as they are all on circuits I like and proper long, but just 3 races is not a proper competion, even as an exhibition. Do hope that the actual season will be at least 10 races, although I would actually prefer much more races. Remember fondly the 40 race season a few years ago...

And in any case, also just noticed that the next race is already on coming Wednesday.
So can not do that one as I had been asked to attent the Port Defender exercise here in the Rotterdam port, so have no option to do the Daytone race, unfortunately....

Just throwing this out there, but as of a few minutes ago the two top times at Dayton RC are a pair of Ford GT LMs (one Test and one Race).

I just did a handful of laps on two of my accounts, one of which I picked Ford (#2) and the other Toyota (#1)... I am ~.350" faster in the Ford LM II. My time was like a 45.4 (I think). It was #16 on the overall - albeit very young - leaderboard.

Told you all this car was quick.

Pug VGT is very quick as well. Not an entire Supra fest - what a surprise, the moaning about it being OP wasn’t accurate.

LoL

Parking the RCZ for Daytona. Running a few laps in the vgt and already in 1:47’s.
Minor drawbacks in VR since I have no gages but shifting by sound is something that I tend to do a lot anywho.

I entered this race confident and hopeful. I felt I had solid pace in the Alfa 4C. 1st slot I was where I needed to be after qualy, Q3. But soon made a huge error and fell to p14. Spent the rest of the race playing catch up. I dont like driving desperate but thats what it was. Finished p7 but was unhappy with my race so I went again. I shouldn't have 🤣 Bah.

Looking forward to Daytona. I think 4C is a bit of a sleeper. Not Ford or supra fast but she can Boogie in the slip.

So I've been continuing to do tests with various Gr3 cars around the Nord End layout. Just checking out some speeds, lap times, and fuel usage (I'd like to do tire wear as well but can't really as there is nothing solid to quantify it).

I've already picked my Manus for #1 account (Toyota), #2 account (Ford), but yet to for the EMEA account. I just clipped into DR A and am debating doing some races from the back to try and get back down to B just for the extra time slots (one nice thing about the EMEA account is the time difference, so I'd be able to get a race or two in first thing in the morning before the day gets busy as the first GT2 time slot for US is at noon EST)... but that's another topic for another day.

I do one lap on RMs (again, tire/fuel are both on, 4x and 2x respectfully), so long as there are no big mistakes in the lap I run with it.

All that to say I did a lap in the Peugeot VGT and it is quite fast, top end wise. But, it is the most thirsty as well. At the end of a lap it showed 3.0 laps remaining; the Ford GT LM showed 3.2 and Vette showed 3.7 for comparison sake (The McLaren and Lexus both appear they won't need to refuel during the race, FWIW). Seems like it'll be a good car for qualifying but maybe not so much for the race. But, of course, that's not how it works for GTWS which makes things much more interesting!

My Ford LM II time on Daytona is now at #24, ahead of names like Surrano, Gallo, and Digit (which my Supra time is in front of Digit as well). It won't stay that way, but cool to see none-the-less. :D

I improved my time over the GT Race Car by a second with one of the GT LMs I had sitting in my collection earlier today. I was in the top 250 with my time, but it's still early like you said so I'll be down the list later in the week. I did a custom test race and realized I had the wrong tires on the car after seeing how long a splash and dash of fuel would take so that was a waste of time. But not really as I got more experience with the car.

Anyway, I was able to run a no stop race with .2 laps of fuel left in the tank with the proper tires on the car. I was short shifing and coasting from just past the start/finish line and at the 3 board before the bus stop to save some fuel. I don't know if it made a difference and I can see the coasting backfiring on me spectacularly come the actual race. But, please note that I'm a B rank driver and I drive like a barbarian that also didn't have the benefit of having a car to draft behind for additional fuel saving.

Just did a practice lobby with the Pug VGT and I went flat out to see how it would play out on fuel. Got to lap 17 and had to stop in for a gulp but and didn’t do tires. Finished the 21 laps in 38:25 but I think the high BOP might play out a bit differently than the lobby settings as my lap times were a little bit slower than practicing in the Manu practice mode.

Not sure how much fuel saving with other cars will hurt overall time.
I may need to compare the RCZ fuel usage vs over race time.

Thanks for your opinion, much appriciated! Here is how I see it: My intent was to be alongside him at the end of the straight, but because of the first contact when he blocked me midd straight I did not have enough momentum anymore , so at the last moment I decided to back off at the last moment. I stayed on the inside of the corner as much as possible and breaked a bit earlier. I did not expect him to turn in so tight as he should know I was there, but unfortunately he turned into the corner as he did and I could not dissapear and so there was contact.

At that moment I can still turn in the corner but not as tight as I want because of my attempt to avoid the McLaren and the contact. I make contact with his car again at I think the worst place possible. The contact is light but because he puts on the throttle at pretty much that same moment his car spins out of control.

Main issue to me was his earlier driving. What he did on the straight was not the first time, he blocked me several times, and each time I backed off to avoid an incident. Think in the end he was really defending a bit too hard and had a bit of an attitude like: "you back off as I will absolutey not and otherwise there will be contact". (sort of like a fellow countryman of mine used to do a bit in F1 )

But I do feel I am at least partially responsible for this incident, even though trying my best to avoid it. And maybe I should have been more decisive...

Yes, I feel like you should have backed off more. That or turn more into the left, you went quite a bit to the right. He was almost all the way to the right, didn't turn back in that badly. I'd actually say 65-35 on you, even if it is not intentional. But yeah that weaving is so bad, one could say the racing gods decided to punish him 😄

Reminds me off a league race I did yesterday. A driver I fought with for a lead in my class punted me off and I lost 5 seconds. They could have waited and let me back through but nope. Then I kept the gap constant at 5-6 secs. Then I manage to do a big undercut in the pits and got to a 1 sec. The twist was that he was on mediums again after the short medium stint, by accident. The optimal strat was soft-mediums a few laps, then softs again. I pass him and he pits again, for softs. And then some more insult to injury, his internet disconnects him from the race. Sometimes the game punishes you from bad actions 😈
