NATIONS CUP RACE - ROUND 3 - 2PM SLOT - EMEA Region - Lower C race lobs. 17 laps no pit needed. MONZA RACE!

So today this nations cup race was I'm sorry to say absolute dog****e for me. Started off ok in qualifying and then slowly had to make up my time to 10th after bashing around. Bit of a RANT to follow im afraid!

THREE incidents in one race dont amount to good racing in anyway and its really bad sportmanship!

It was downhill in the main Race, there is a one merged YT clip below of three seperate incidents of blantant bad racing and ramming taking place from a reckless south african driver and a horrible asswipe of a french driver who pitted me on the main straight, and I could not recover from it during my race.

It's a real shame that the penalty system lets me down and other stupid drivers dont get repromanded/penalised for their stupid behaviour or they just rage quit. I had tried my best to bring back position ranks, but this was a kind of race that required some strategy as fuel played in abit, tyre wear not so much and it was hard to bounce back. The tyres could last the 17 laps and they did but it was really bad to race with people who were intentially ramming your car, despite me trying to keep it clean and classy.

I won't say much more, it was just bad, onto Round 4, trying to stay optimistic. Videos below prove my disdain for sport racing.

My only race in the series was today. Missed the first 2, on holiday from Thurs.

Almost forgot, so had about 5 practice laps in the Audi and the Bugatti. Went for the Audi as its far more stable under braking so suits my style. Had no time to mess about with BB testing, braking markers or anything other than "I think this is what gear I should take the corner in". Couldn't really remember from the TT a few months back.

4pm, GT1

Qualified 14th wooo

Finished 12th even more woooo (140points, somehow)

Really uneventful race really. Kept it on track albeit on average 3 secs a lap slower than the leaders. Was pushing for 11th at one stage before the pits then I just focused on not being caught too much by the guys behind. Kept a 3s-ish gap in case of silly penalties, that was about it. Oh, my hands really hurt after 25 laps of that as well, still not used to this long race stuff 😂

Didn't get lapped either, result

Happy racing ladies and gents!

I was looking forward to running this in the R18. I set my wheel up and the pedals aren't working. The brakes are flickering and come fully on when you press the throttle. Opening them up and getting rid of any hair and fluff usually works but it just wouldn't work today, so happy racing everyone. I think I'm buying a G923 soon.

Wish I had time yesterday for another attempt.

After coming first in my race I got 15 points.

People in other races were given up to 50 points.

And because I can't do next weeks race my current rank will more than likely drop.
Keep plugging at it mate, this is just an exhibition season so enjoy the variety.

I would definitely recommend a circuit experience or 10 and some daily races to improve the lobbies you are in and help increase that pace and consistency a little.

You put in a good showing and nobody judges anyone. We just want you to be the best you can and that takes time and practice. Good result. In my lobby 3 people quit so they got zero points!

I enjoyed yesterday so much, I went again on my Canadian account. Only Hyundai in a sea of Bugattis. A+ lobby. Second split I think.

Q4 and then murdered at the first 2 chicanes. Dropped to p11.

Steadily picked up places and by lap 5 I was p6. 2 more laps and p3. The leader was 10 seconds up the road.

Got to p2 on lap 10 and then pitted on lap 16 7.2 secs behind the leader. Exited the pits 3 seconds behind. Those Bugs are thirsty.

Proceeded to reel in p1 little by little and on lap 22 he got the second chicane wrong and I got up the inside into the first Lesmo. At the second Lesmo he throws it into my side and puts me in the gravel. I drop 4 seconds.

Cue 3 laps of red mist and expletives as I come under pressure from p3.

Through Ascari for the last time and he’s 3 seconds in front of me and I’m constructing my angry after-race message in my head. But then, miracle of miracles, he stops on the line to let me past for the win.

I’m telling you, the Hyundai is a way better car for this race than the Bugatti.

Needless to say, one and done in North America.

First GT1 slot in the Americas. I was in door #2, driving the Audi R18 in an all-A lobby with 162 points up for grabs. It was mostly Bugattis, but there was another R18 or two, a McLaren VGT, a TS030, and GR010. I just needed to finish to improve my point total.

I qualified Q6 with a time of 1:35.321, just a tenth off by best time in Free Practice. Couldn't ask for more.

The race got off to a decent start. Everybody ghosted on T1 and I lost a couple spots as drivers decided to go right through the cars ahead of them. As the lap developed, I climbed back up to P6 from cars going off the track at the second chicane and Lesmo 1.

Then came Ascari. The trio drivers ahead of me decided to go into it 3-wide. Unsurprisingly, one went into the sand. Surprisingly -- at least to me -- that driver managed to turn the car back into the track just as I was coming by and went into my side. That sent me way left. I was still on the tarmac, but my angle was all off. I tried to adjust, but ended up pushing another car wide into the green stuff on the final left. They started to spin, going into my side, which settled their car back down, but sent me into the grass. I lost control, spun, and went into the barrier.

Dead last.

At least I had clean air. Time to get to work.

I managed to work my way back up the field. Mostly by passing cars that had crashed or taken penalties, but I managed to make a couple legitimate overtakes.

I pitted on lap 16. When all the pitting was done, I was back up to P8, between two Bugattis.

On lap 20, the Bugatti was right on my bump into Lesmo 2. He wasn't prepared for me to brake where I did and bumped me into the sand. To his credit, he waited for me to return to the track and followed me for the rest of the lap. Cheers to you, Diathon, wherever you are. Sadly we both dropped a position in the process. Down to P9 for me.

On lap 23, still in P9, I cut the corner on the first chicane for a 1-second penalty. I finally gave up P9 to the Bugatti who I had until then managed to keep ahead of. Down to P10.

But then it was my turn. The P9 Bugatti got a 1-second penalty on lap 25. I took back P9 for the finish, and 108 points.

All things considered, this was a decent result. I wish I could have avoided the lap-1 crash, of course, but I'm feeling pretty good about myself for climbing my way back up to where I finished.
