Best three from seven. How many valid rounds? I haven't found the info... Thanks!
That wet race at spa a few month back was a joke I agree. People quitting as they were P8 and wanted to the next slot. I’d rather PD just make the slots every 2 hours if the races are to be over 1 hour.I admit sometimes I've felt those races to be too long for my taste:
-I think raining Spa was too long because it prevented you to join next split
-I didn't enjoy the DTM Audi at Brands Hatch
-I decided during warm up not to race at Interlagos last time
But I usually enjoy them. Also, long races is the only way to have actual strategy and nearly decent weather.
Ah, "diet version" of races also lack grid starts with penalty. One of my few strengths.
Don’t think PD actually care apart from that top 1% of players who are trying to qualify. 99% of the player base then have suffer. If numbers did drop from these GT2 & GT3 leagues then I would assume they would look into it, but I suspect they would get enough numbers to still justify the change.Wow that’s a tight schedule but teams 😁 Oh, that's only for the top few at the finals 😮💨 Maybe, if I do well I can move up....half the laps. So, not even enough time to recover when someone spins me to get to the front because half the laps. 💩🤬s!
I would be perfectly happy with less slots with more realistic races. I will stop in if I have time or feel like it, maybe. Okay, probably not. The grind looks more attractive.
🤔 If non of us GT2/3 people run the race, will PD change the format for the Manufacturers Cup?
On strike!
I think the biggest issue with the GT2 & GT3 racers is most of them are casual players who don’t really care if they lose DR/SR by quitting. Someone quit on lap 1 in my race at Daytona last month as they spun out. It’s things like that, that have meant we are now stuck with half distance races.I mentioned before that I suspect PD has some data that makes them think that shorter races are preferred, but in typical PD operations, they won't say a word to explain their decisions. And I agree that the fewer slots can also be a problem. A case of...you can please everyone.
But I still think it is insulting.
Maybe they could have a 'fuzzy' area where you could choose your league? (But maybe not a C level in GT1, i'm already thinking of your counter arguments!) I hover around the A/B mark like a moth to a flame so it is not unrealistic for me to join GT1. I would take the fewer slots for a real 'meaty' long race. My strength, I feel, is consistency over pace, give me an hour long race and let me try to outlast you.
As for the DNFs, for example that spa race (which I loved!), where people likely DNFd to get into the next slot; make it so that if you DNF you get a 2-3 hour ban from joining another slot. Go ahead and DNF if you choose, but not so you can get into the next lobby.
Of course, this is an empty argument, PD will do what they do. But I don't have to like it, or even participate. (I'll likely participate.... but I can still be unhappy about it!)
Best three from seven.
Everyone gets seven online rounds. That determines the top 12 nations/manufacturers.But do you get 7 rounds, if you are part of a non TOP12 Nation? 🤔 Unless I misinterpret, me from Finland has a good chance of missing round 7.
I think Saturday’s race is going to feel like an extra round of the Gazoo, but I don’t like the Sup so taking the Ferrari for a spin.
Car feels pretty good, a bit slow at the end of the straights but easily flat through the fast bends. The mediums gave up on lap 8 in a practice race, so a 5H/7M is probably the way to go for GT2/GT3.
The EMEA time slots are posted in the news item in every single region, even the Americas and Oceania. I think that's probably incorrect. I would imagine they will be in the evening. So for NA GT1 slots. Do I have these race times correct? 12pm, 2pm, 4pm? Is that for both wednesday and saturday?
Wholeheartedly agree. There are so many different cars in the game, having so many Gr.1/2/3/4 races in such a short season instead of using some road/rally cars seems like a waste.Ah, that schedule has taken the wind out my sails immediately. All Gr. races? (bar an SF race).
Nations to me has always been about who is the best of the best in the huge array of cars that GT has to offer. Not just "drive the same Gr. cars you race everywhere else in Sport Mode."
The exhibitions going across the Honda Fit, the Citroen DS, the rally races, the Living Legend, etc. - that was way more in tune with what I want (and usually get) out of this series. Bit boring to just have it be a duplicate of the rest of Sport Mode, especially when Manu Cup is also only going to be Gr.3/Gr.4 anyway.
Too bad it wasn't 5 out of 7. That would have been a perfect score.Best three from seven.

as complete teams I can clearly recall just 4 by the moment🤔🤔I feel like I can name eight of the 12 finalist nations, and their full three-driver squad, right now without any hesitation...
Will Fraga even be competing? Seems like he'd be fairly occupied with GT300.as complete teams I can clearly recall just 4 by the moment🤔🤔
Brazil: Fraga, Carrazza and Bonelli
Spain: Lopez, Serrano and Rodriguez
France: Drumont, Beauvois and Medhi
Japan: Miyazono, Yamanaka and Kokubun
Wrong.I think the biggest issue with the GT2 & GT3 racers is most of them are casual players who don’t really care if they lose DR/SR by quitting
If I do that it's no different from a race C. The one thing the GTWS has going for it as of this format, is the screen shot of my standings after the races. Good races can be found outside of GTWS, especially not that they cut all our races in half. Why not just do the ones you want or can? It's not an all or nothing thing. I frequently skip races I am not interested in.
I'm in two minds because surely part of the point of these test series' they've been doing is to identify the race combos that work well in this format, so of course we'll see some return as they're likely the ones they were most pleased with.I agree that they could’ve mixed things up a bit more, but it does look like there will be some fun racing. Hopefully there will be some different strategies and not just 1 meta for each race.
I’m looking forward to it.
Me personally I do care when racing no matter what race I'm doing, whether it's Daily A, B or C, GTWS or even just racing with friends in lobbies. If I spin or get taken out, I'll get the car pointing the right way and carry on. Even if I finish last it's still good race practice to learn the tyres and fuel, rather than just going back to TT lobby and doing and doing what I'd call fake laps, as the conditions are classed as perfect due to the no tyre fade and fuel limits.Wrong.
Did you not care when you were GT2/3?
Is GT now so elitist that an imposed class structure based upon ranking will determine who is or isn’t worthy of the full racing experience?
Does this mean that I need only do half of the new time trial as I may get bored half way round and quit?
This is the thing. Realistically GT2 is my level, maybe could just squeeze into GT1 if the right combo pops up in the daily races and I DR grind, but then it won't be a true reflection of my skill. Been demoralised because I'm not good enough (in PDs eyes) is like you say make you feel like a second class citizen.Joking aside, I am a realist and know that I will never get to GT1. That doesn’t mean I don’t care nor does it mean I don’t try to do my best. PD have made me feel like a second class citizen.
Their 6 sprint races comprise a fading shadow of what true Championships should be. An extended exhibition series at best is what we have been given.
To say I am insulted by the schedule and it’s content would be an understatement.
I started testing/practice earlier. Did 30 minutes or so before I realised what a total and utter unrewarding waste of time and effort this game has become.
With any change you get people who welcome them and people who recent them. Good for you that the changes suit you!Am I just part of the silent minority who have welcomed these changes?
I mean, working nights has never given me the best opportunity to race 'serious', but at least the 11pm slot for EMEA means I can roll home after my early Saturday shift and maybe get in a little practice before the event.
Wednesdays are still out, but oh well it's an improvement.
What I do find unfortunate is that my determination to stay in DR A has the unwanted effect of reducing my opportunities even further in GT1.
Honestly that's not an issue. If people want to duck out of a race in a position with good points to enter the next race where they potentially get less points due to a DR drop after quitting then that's up to them. I'll take all the free positions, their points and DR.As for the DNFs, for example that spa race (which I loved!), where people likely DNFd to get into the next slot;
