Yeah, I was gonna keep going until I got bored but I flipped my taxi so that put an end to that. I might have another go later, I like the GTA3 taxi missions for some reason.

How did you manage to get your CR so high without killing tens of thousands of people?

AAAARRGGGHHH!

Purple Nines Glitch! Purple Nines Glitch!

I got to Shoreside Vale today and was hit by the Purple Nines glitch, now I can't finish D-Ice's missions. Is there any way around this glitch? It didn't happened to me when I was playing it on PC but it's happened me almost everytime I've played from start through to Shoreside Vale on PS2.

Also -
Diablo Destruction - 5 (Diablo Stallions are nowhere to be seen for some reason)
Casino Calamity - 9

KM.

Whats this glitch??

I don't think I got it (on PS@)-- I'm 73/73 on missions now--sitting at 99% now--paramedic is left--I tried it twice today-- ran over a patient on level 10-- rolled the ambulance on level 9 the 2nd time.:banghead: :banghead:

Anyway--I did try some jumps-- I got a 488 foot one :D --I'll post a screen shot when time permits--- I already have about 100 patients saved in ambulance---at a minimum I'll end up with 178.

As I mentioned earlier, the paramedic missions are a pain in the ass. It was the most frustrating part of the game for me. One time I ran over the person on level 11... :irked:

I think after I get godfather on vice city, I'll try for 100% on GTAIII. Right now I'm only about 60-70 percent done. Still need to do packages, rampages, jumps, taxi, firefighter, and some of the phone missions.

Anyone know of any good package, rampage and jump guides?

Sometimes when you get to Shoreside Vale, there's no Purple Nines. So when you get the mission to do a drive-by on them, there nowhere to be seen, only the Red Jacks are around, so you can't complete D-Ice's phone missions.

Anyway--I did try some jumps-- I got a 488 foot one :D --I'll post a screen shot when time permits--- I already have about 100 patients saved in ambulance---at a minimum I'll end up with 178.
Where are you doing your jumps? I bet there's some good spots in Shoreside Vale with the dam and cliffsides and stuff but I haven't found a really good place yet.

KM.

Depends on what I'm trying to do--

I've found a good rotation spot right behind the SSV safehouse--drive up the dead end street and hit the embankment--if you hit it right you get good spin--I had a triple insane jump there but I did not save it. I didn't look at my stats other then I know I did 2 flips-- and had good rotation--on that one I happened to land on the road over to your left down below (so I had good air time)--more often you land on the road infront of you (above you slightly). My 1075 was the same spot but I landed on the upper road.

My height record jump was on the road behind the casino heading south (another embankment)-- you end up landing on the southernmost road that curves around the south end of Staunton Island.

My distance record, I got on the unique jump on the east end of the Calahan bridge (the one on the bridge)--used a Rhino for that one--you have a good straight run up for that one-- the rhino gets sort of turned though. I did get a 350 foot jump off the cliff on the road that goes down the hill to the right of Catalina's house using a banshee--the ramp (embankment) for that one is kind of weak though---I got one nearly 400 feet at the airport with the Rhino also---the key with the Rhino is finding a good jump with a long run up.

I can't find a good one near the dam---I'm looking though.

Distance travelled on foot -
150.97 miles - Spuds725
Distance travelled by car -
1136.54 miles - Spuds725
Max insane distance
488.36 feet - Spuds725

here is my screenie

Got any hints as to how to fly the Dodo? I haven't managed more than 7 seconds or something. I haven't a clue how to keep it in the air.

The best way I have learned to get it up is to get on the end of the runway, push forward on the left analog stick and hold down the gas. Then when you see the nose of it almost scrapping the ground, completely let go of the stick and it will lift up. After you get up a ways, level it out. Then if you find you're losing speed push forward to dive down just a tad. Barely tap it forward. And it should gain speed and go higher at the same time. After that just practice some turning and keep it level.

OK, I am very very very pissed off right now, I had just typed ina ll the new records, I was about to press save changes, then MY COMPUTER FROZE! Don't expect updates untill tommorow!

Sorry for the large update from me, and then losing your work-- You would think I'd have organized mine better.

I went back through my posts and put stats in order, I also added my name after the stats so you can copy and paste them-- will be a little less tedious this time.

Also Mustangman,

You didn't need to post your stats with maximum values (packages, jumps, etc...) only ones in the recordbook are stats without maximums--and also any new #1 record requires a screenshot--- I don't know if Blake is gonna do like the VC book and use "unverified" stats

You also need to check your distance travelled stats--I'm thinking they are off a little--missing a decimal point maybe??

I also don' t know how you can possibly have a triple insane stunt with those stats-- I still don't know what the requirements are but I'm pretty sure you need at least 2 flips for a triple insane--I believe its a combination of flips and rotation--yours are both a little weak.

On my version of GTA3, the distance travelled stats aren't given in miles, they're given in metres. Also the distances for insane sunts are in metres, not feet. The PAL version might be different from the NTSC version. There were some differences in Vice City as well, my version never gives stunt distances in feet, just metres.

Anyhoo -
Passengers dropped off - 233
Money made in taxi - $1385858

I can post a pic if needed.

KM.

Are you doing it on Staunton Island?? How many in a row is that??

Its about 1,600 meters per mile--- thats about 1000 miles for him...alot more reasonable.

Is your jump stats in meters too?? I still stand by my assertation about the triple insane stunt-- those stats are too weak to give a triple (even in meters)-- please post a screenshot and prove me wrong.

The taxi missions? Yeah, I'm doing them on Staunton Island. I did 165 in a row today but got bored.

I think you're right about the triple insane stunt thing. I think that an insane stunt is when you don't get any flips. If you get one flip you get a double insane stunt and if you get 2 flips you get a triple insane stunt. I don't know if a quadruple exists or not. My best rotation is 719 which is 2 full rotations and it got me a perfect triple insane stunt.

KM.

My (2) 2 flip jumps have both been double insanes--one of them had next to no rotation, the other was maybe 300-400 degrees-- maybe its 2 flips and 2 spins minimum???

Yeah i was thinking about that as i was typing it - i was bored so just continued typing. :P

--and also any new #1 record requires a screenshot.
Yep. I asked blake in MSN last night to write a small list of what needed to be verified so that i could take pics (not that i have anything to gain by exaggerating records).

You also need to check your distance travelled stats--I'm thinking they are off a little--missing a decimal point maybe??
Nope. that's exactly how it is written in the game - like KM said, its in meters here. :)

I also don' t know how you can possibly have a triple insane stunt with those stats-- I still don't know what the requirements are but I'm pretty sure you need at least 2 flips for a triple insane--I believe its a combination of flips and rotation--yours are both a little weak.
Oh. Well i'm not sure how i got it either (a basically new gamesave) but the game doesn't lie to be blatantly honest with you. :/

I'm not a big GTA player (a looooooooooooong second after Gran Turismo) so my stats will no doubt be beaten easily. :P

Updated--

Mustang-man, I'm not going to post you distance records because they are in meters. I'm not sure if the game has accuratly made the distances or not, so try and convert them into feet/miles respectivly and I'll see if I think they sound resonable, if not I will post them in meters but you will not be in a top 5 spot, instead just a seperate spot.

I also need screenies from the 'stang-man, KM and Spuds.

Again Mustang-man, I see a discepancy in your records, you say you have 100% game, but you only have 78 ppl saved in an ambulance, I believe you must have 100ppl saved for 100%???

One very big update out of the way (Thanks Spuds *shakes fist*). And also thanks spuds for the degrees sybol;)

Sorry mate - but i have no clue whatsoever about coverting meters into feet.

*grumbles* Stupid American metric system thingy *grumbles*
