Grand Theft Auto V features for GT6

What could Gran Turismo 6 borrow from Grand Theft Auto V that would improve your experience?

I have a couple of suggestions - some more genuine than others ;)

1 - Visible damage and repair system and the effect damage has on driving.

2 - Online Rally co-driving game with one player reading out course /pace notes - idea from this thread

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/pace-notes-idea.290231/

3 - Tow trucks for members of the viewing audience to go and pick up totalled cars during the race (under safety car)

Any more?

The damage system in GTAV is not as good as it used to be in GTAIV in my humble opinion. However, it's still better than in GT.

I don't think I would want any feature from a GTA game into GT though. All are just little details that should be added after other missing things and problems are addressed.

GTA IV had a fantastic damage engine. One so great that any driving game short of BeamNG should actively aspire to have. It had real time deformation with notable damage points and weak areas for each specific car; plus modeled suspension and underbody damage that I haven't seen any "real" racing game tackle in a decade.

GTA V didn't, so I can't think of much of anything I'd want from the game in GT6 since the only main ace ups its sleeve (car customization) is something people already want anyway.

GTA could be incorporated into career mode, you start off as a member of the pit crew but carjack the driver and start your racing career in his car.

Driver animations in entering and exiting cars: For pitstops. While viewing cars in garage or dealerships, user avatars open doors and sit inside. While in "photo mode lobbies", users can interact in walking up and down pitlane taking photos of other users cars. Grid walk before qualifying.

Optional soundtrack changes on-the-fly in cruising rooms.

Tire deflation and blow outs

Really there is nothing in GTA V about driving that is better in GT, seriously it pisses me off what it could have been like if they kept the physics from IV, altered some of the parameters, removed the 'traction control' system, had accurate but simple tuning options and that would have been absolutely perfect. But they went with NFS arcade rubbish topped off with tuning and customization, that seems to have been thought out by somebody is either 12 or has the IQ of said 12 year old. Rest of the game was epic pretty much (could have done with a better track list). Visual damage was OK I guess, but I still preferred IV's

I agree totally, even about the soundtrack.

Are we even bothering with this thread? IMHO this thread is a bit.. Well. How do I put it nicely. Odd? Why would you want any feature of GTAV in GT6? Except for the free-roam ability we were promised in GT5, ofc. :scared:

There is always time for a 'future update'.

Indeed it is. Only thing that I hope for is free-roam. Other things from GTAV.. No thanks. Next thing people say "oh lets walk outta the car and punch someone, then shoot out his tires!" Ridiculous.

Well, I would prefer to do another thing with prostitutes...

Not in Gran Turismo, you're not. It's about driving cars, not prostitutes :lol:

Well it's supposed to be a bit.... odd. I only put it up because the thought tickled me (let's face it there are some things it does better than Gran Turismo 5 too)

I'll add another one

Online app to upgrade/tune your cars (although one that works better than the ifruit one)

I know, some things are better. But remember the graphics aren't that great yet (until the PS4 version). So maybe it has some good stuff, but it's another genre and always will be. Why the damage is better, well I can answer that one pretty easy. Kaz crashed his R32 Skyline just after graduating college, and knows what a car wreck looks like. And he doesn't want that in his games. And car companies wouldn't want that either, they don't want their cars smashed. Not even in a game. That's why GTA has better damage. Those cars isn't real, so they can do whatever they want, basically.

EDIT: That's my opinion, anyway. I didn't mean to sound rude or negative.

If there were certain corners on tracks like the Nurburgring where you could pick up a wh*re, then sure that would be a great feature from GTA V.

On a serious note though, shakotan exhausts would be fun to have on JDM cars.

Even more serious, if you could do the impromptu races, set a point on the map to race to after a short countdown, while in free run mode on a huge custom track. That would be swell.

Perhaps even win decided amounts of cash for it, but maybe that's too close to gambling for kaz, he likes to keep it straight.

We have a few weeks until GT6 drops, we're bored. Thats why people are responding to these type threads. Hey, I made a thread aboit which will be the most used tracks in GT6. Who knows? Just passing the time...

Well said, the GT6 forums are full of threads that are basically filler. We're all bored waiting and polls and stupid questions and wishlists just seem to pop up every day, while people continually conjecture over the cryptic screenshots about what the game will be like.

It's a madhouse, because we've all gone insane with the wait, and the lack of solid information about what to expect.

Bro, I'm not just bored. I'm dying with anticipation over here, much more than I was for GTA, I've been hooked to this series since I was a kid regardless of some of the bad points.

Not rude at all.

However there was very good damage in the game Shift 2 and that featured a lot of real cars. Same with Need For Speed Most Wanted.

Indeed it was, but as I said in my post, Kaz has reasons for not upgrading the damage to those degrees of damage. He only implemented it because the fans demanded it.
