PS4 closed beta? Does it have an NDA?
What's the general time frame for pre-downloads? I'm trying to think of notable games, and most of them do a few days before release. Not nearly a month out.
On the Xbox store, you can often pre-download months in advance, but the file is a ~100mb placeholder until the actual game is ready for release, usually a week or so before the street date.
In Gravel’s case, it appears to be ready already, unless 15 gigs is just a placeholder and the actual game is much larger.
Just how Milestone works. Haven't you seen Ride and Ride 2? You have free stuff (probably vehicles where the brand is literally paying the devs or things they couldn't polish before releasing the game) and paid stuff.Mention of DLC plans:
"Launching with over sixty cars and a surprisingly large number of tracks, Gravel will have a lot to keep you occupied with. Beyond the career, you can simply jump in and race any track you like. As expected, you can change the difficulty, weather and more to your liking in this mode. Always good is the fact that these modifiers aren’t placed in loot crates. One questionable move is that Milestone have already confirmed an 11 piece DLC plan. This includes the pre-order bonus and a mixture of free and paid for DLC’s with the other ten. This does, however, show that the company plans on supporting the game for a long period of time."
15 GB isn't really much for a game nowadays is it.
Well one gig is exceptionally strange.Spintires Mudrunner on Xbox One is a gigabyte. One gig.
So it certainly isn't strange.
Game's up on the PS Store
Standard Edition - 49.99$ (Includes pre-order bonuses and dynamic theme)
Special Edition - 69.99$ ("Full Game plus Season Pass with 5 premium expansions sets and a cool Gravel Theme")
For EU stores, they cost 69.99€ and 89.99€ (!) respectively.
Time to sign up for a US-based PSN account!
Bowler Bulldog, oh that makes me happy.Information about Season Pass and free DLCs

Looks decent enough but a bit skeptical being milestone.
Nothing wrong with Milestone these days, in my view they are one of the most underrated racing devs around.
it bugs me to see people repeat the notion that a game from milestone won't be good or whatever, when the issue with milestone has been polish. They make good games. I was actually happy to hear they were making a proper arcade game, but hope they make an SLRE2 too. I'm gonna have to assume that they will for sure make a Rally game as Rally and bikes have been their staple in the last 10 years iirc.Looking at YouTube comments it seems quite a few people are excited about Gravel. When I heard Milestone was moving to Unreal Engine I started hoping for SLRE 2. When Gravel was announced I honestly felt like vomiting. I don't like "arcade" racers.
But watching the development of the game over the last few months piqued my interest and yesterday I pre-ordered the standard edition. Why?
Milestone made one of my most played games on PS3, Superstars V8 racing. SLRE is another diamond in the rough. They aren't by any means a bad dev and most of their poor repution comes from poorly-optimized games (graphics/sound/fps/peripheral support).
- I want to support Milestone in the hopes of seeing a successor to SLRE
- While the general presentation looks arcadey, the latest builds seem to have some depth to the physics model (dare I use the word "simcade" here).
- Dynamically deteriorating road surfaces (ruts get deeper as the cars pass)
- Typically great car list (Milestone are the masters of licensing)
- Capture the Flag! It looks like we won't be seeing a Warhawk 2 or a Warhawk remastered, and boy do I miss Capture the Flag. Playing it online with cars should be loads of fun.
Gravel looks fun so I'm looking forward to giving it a try. And my fingers will be eternally crossed for a new Milestone rally sim using Unreal engine.
You should not shorten the name of the Acciona Ecopowered car since Acciona is only the name of the electric power company. You wouldn't call a G&E prototype just "G&E", right? This is the discussion thread for a recent post on GTPlanet:
This article was published by Kyle Patrick (@SlipZtrEm) on February 12th, 2018 in the Gravel category.
Looks promising but they state that there will be 50 plus cars. Excluding the Bulldog and Acciona I count 25. Are the rest DLC or just not revealed??
Well I guess I have now @ELmarcotuff
I spent too much time doing this...

Unsure which specification the 911 and Navara are, but hey they're there. A fair amount of carry-over from Seb Loeb Rally but also plenty of fresh metal. Sources = all trailers, gameplay etc. Tried to give each car its original official name because the in-game naming scheme is very unfinished; the R4 Subaru is named "2015 Subaru WRC" or something which isn't technically wrong but isn't exactly helpful either. The Hummer is listed as a Chevrolet in this game. Also, TIL that Suzuki Italy campaigns a team of Vitaras (both Grand and regular sizes) in national cross-country rallies! Good times
