Gravel: New Off-Road Racer Coming to PS4, XB1 & PC Early 2018

Well, at least they seem to care about the game, thought has been put into it. I kinda like how the game works like BAJA Edge of Control and some MX vs ATV games in a way: big environments (probably around 9 squared miles) with quite a few paths. I still dislike the superwide paths and the freeriding but the game looks enjoyable.

PS: There is no way they have licensed the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. On the track selection page you can see "Memorial Coliseum - Los Angeles" but, c'mon... I know the stadium was correctly replicated in MTX Mototrax, not sure about DiRT2.

@die996 ^^ They are on a budget but always seem to get quite a few official licences somehow. I also think the graphics look sharp. I think the new Unreal Engine4 is really helping them with the detail they were missing in previous games.
p.s Beat you to this video- already posted on (page 5) :P 👍

@Gr4ndy Yes I saw that as well on the previous video.

In Alaska there are loads of tracks (see below)

That insetik47 video tho. I know that dude.

On topic, I am fairly certain that in both DiRT 2 and 3, the facade of the stadium is well modelled, plus the parking lot around it.

I got a strong DiRT 2 vibe from that trailer.

Well that would be great. There hasn't been enough arcade style games out this generation imo. Whilst Im enjoying Dirt4 I recently played a session of D3 and found myself loving it, and I know how D2 was even better, again my opinion. :D

I loved the atmosphere DiRT 2 & 3 had. DiRT 4 is just as much fun to play as the aforementioned games, but I do miss the cheesy and over-the-top style the series used to have. Gravel does appear to have the lively atmosphere aspect covered though.

Exactly. This looks pretty cheesy and fun! I would have still preferred SLRE 2 but hopefully they will follow that up at a later date.

This could actually be pretty good. A blend of Dirt2 fun with just a dash of Motorstorm mental could be a winner. Nice to see a developer having fun with their product; Codemasters seem to be taking themselves quite seriously these days and Dirt4 lost a bit of charm because of it.

I think CM have lost their way during this generation, which considering how strong they were last Gen I find hard to understand.
Barring the F1 games which I'm not qualified to comment on they took ages to bring out a game, ie Dirt Rally which admittedly was great. But then Dirt 4, I like game but many don't as it was indicated as a follow on from DR which it clearly isn't but at the same time doesn't feel like a true successor to D2/3 either, imo. They also hurt themselves immeasurably with their radio silence after release.

With D4 I feel they should have released a game that was more like the previous games, (read in your face fun), and then also released DR2, then everyone would have been happy, all bases covered.

And where is the next Grid game ?

To me they were on top of the world but something is clearly wrong internally as they have let all their success slip away, which being a CM fan makes me feel equally frustrated and sad.

However back on topic! I'm very interested in what Gravel is like, looks appealing to me, cheese and all:D

I'm somewhat interested, but I'm wary of Milestone after Ride and SLRE, as much as I enjoyed SLRE...I guess it will depend on feedback about the handling from someone here I can trust.

On Facebook I asked them will the rally cars have more than the safari spec they are shown in, they answered with they'll all have multiple liveries.
Come to think of it, has anyone made as confirmed car list on here or no?

Unsure which specification the 911 and Navara are, but hey they're there. A fair amount of carry-over from Seb Loeb Rally but also plenty of fresh metal. Sources = all trailers, gameplay etc. Tried to give each car its original official name because the in-game naming scheme is very unfinished; the R4 Subaru is named "2015 Subaru WRC" or something which isn't technically wrong but isn't exactly helpful either. The Hummer is listed as a Chevrolet in this game. Also, TIL that Suzuki Italy campaigns a team of Vitaras (both Grand and regular sizes) in national cross-country rallies! Good times

Well, thank you my good sir

Thanks @Gr4ndy It looks to be shaping up to a nice fun arcade off roader. I am not worried about milestones handling or graphics as this will be on the new 4K unreal engine 4 so it should be nice and detailed and better than MXGP3. I will more than likely pre-order as Milestone do tend to take a while to drop pricing. But the way AAA games are halving in price so soon this year (within a few weeks) in sales we shall see:irked: 👍

That Namibia race looks like they're using a Mitsubishi outlander thing.
It's called a "Mitsubishi ASX" but it's actually just a rebranded Mitsubishi Racing Lancer. Some privateers have been using Mitsubishi Racing Lancers since Mitsubishi threw them in the trash after the combination of bad performance and the fact that Mitsubishi stopped having a factory racing team. These are some of the names that have been used for the Racing Lancer:
· Mitsubishi ASX
· Ford HRX (someone installed a Ford engine in a couple of them)
· Borgward BX7 (yes, they will appear once again in the 2018 Dakar Rally)

PS: I both love and hate that they are including the freaking Dacia Dusters T1 4x4s from Renault Argentina.

Looking good, presentation is comparable to Blizzard Mountain on Forza Horizon 3. 👍

If I had one criticism right now, it would be the soundtrack. It. Needs. To. Go. :yuck:

Soundtracks are the first thing I turn off, so I can live with them.
