Rice boy, I think it's slow because most cars that I regard as fast will beat the hell out of it in any distance. 0-60, quarter mile, half mile, mile, and top end. I have sat in some, numerous times. I also gotta say that NOS is not a big deal. First of all, the majority of people that use it are kids who don't know how to use it, don't know what it's actually for, and seriously damage their engine internals by misuse. People think NOS is a big boost in power to get the jump. I used to drag race quite a bit. I had a 300ZX TT. I've seen many many many hondas, acuras, what-have-you, and NONE beat the Fairlady at all. Some had NOS, most had engine work, but all were called 'fast' by the people that drove them. I've won a lot of money and two titles due to people's misconceptions. This goes to show you how much I repsect all that 4-bangin NOS garbage. When I won the first car, I had it completely stripped down, taken apart, and sold the parts. The second car I won, I wanted to make a greater impression. He signs the title in my name, I get a wooden bat out of the hatch of my car and I totally demolished it right in front of him. As I was urinating on the front right tire, I said, "god, i love these cars". That's all I have to say about that.

Nico is quite the hater!

Switch to decaf, Gunga Din!

OK, a little FF love here. Yes, I concede that for pure acceleration and handling, RWD is the balls. Even the Volvo 240s I've driven have that nice "balanced" feel despite being gutless POSs. The 2nd-gen N/A RX-7...that was sublime. It's the only car I've ever driven that just turns. No hesitation, no slop. Just rotation. It was beautiful. :) (BTW, we should have a little "in love" smiley).

On the other hand...I live in Maine. For those of you who don't live in this neck of the woods, let me explain. The weather is ****e 5-6 months a year. Much as I'd like a powerful RWD car, it's just not a viable option. My little FF cars have all gone like the devil in snow (so far...haven't had the 'Teg in snow yet). That's where the advantage is: the weight distribution imbalance. FF cars have always been popular in snow-bound areas of the world, and in rallies before AWD became common. The nice thing about FF vs. AWD is efficiency: AWD has very high power loss in the drivetrain. And speaking of drivetrain, any AWD will have much higher maintainance costs...you do have three diffs, do you not?

So, as much as I hate to pull the practicality card, I figure I'll play devil's advocate and see what y'all think. Jervinator, you must be able to appreciate some of what I'm saying. :)

No, I don't have anything else to do besides hang around GTPlanet today.

:fdevil: :Poke: I think Rice-boy needs to pull up his pants, get his seat-back out of the back seat, ditch his baby bottle o' laughing gas, and get a clue.

FYI - 0-60 times and drag ETs have only slightly more relevance to me than towing capacity. You want to impress me? Do a slalom...while plowing snow with your front fascia! Oh, wait, you ricers ain't got the ground clearance to be out past fall, and if you did, you'd crack your precious kombat-kit nose :( Let's see y'all nitrous yer way out of a big ol' slush puddle.

:D

Being a touch presumptuous, aren't we?

I do not have a body kit.

I do not have boost.

I do not use NOS.

Don't be a dick.

I don't think his post was intended for you, risingson.

*grumbles something about everyone calling it 'NOS', when it's not...*

oh, ok. sorry jerv.

sorry about the NOS thing. see, i'm a consumer whore just like any good American, so I refer to everything by a brand name. tissues are kleenex, soda is Coke, etc. :)

I work at a promotional products distributor.

I'm the co-network admin, Internet admin, email admin, and web developer. So, it's not unusual that I sit in front of my PC all day. :)

I know that i dont have a pic of my car, let alone my dads but not to brag, my dads 94 legend coupe with the version 2 engine (the 4 doors have the version 1 engine) stock his car has 240hp, but like i said before Rice I made mods to his car. i.e. K&N air filter, magnaflow exhaust, port polish, all the basic car mods. It has over 290hp and i dont know the exact 0-60mph times but its as fast as a bat out of hell!

btw, that is one fast a** legend...

I'm so glad that I can take comfort in my car's abilities and not have to try to gain respect by bragging about its speed/modifications.

My car (1991 Acura Legend 4 door) has no mods or anything just a few, when i say few i mean many, Georgia Tech stuff on it.

I was just repsonding to Rice's assumption that his 3.2 TL is better than my dad's 94 legend coupe!

Whatever...

I'm racing my WRX at an SCCA AutoX event this weekend. If you really want to see just how fast your car is, go to one of these. When you get your ass kicked (as will I) by a Neon, maybe you'll all learn some humility (not directed at anyone in particular).

:D

Sorry, ever since they changed all the cars names to letters i mistakenly call the cars by the different names.

Its a same that the TL came from the Vigor, poor little I-5!

I'm not doubting you or your car. I was one of the...unfortunate people who visited your Geocities website and saw your car. Attractive, but I rest comfortably in the knowledge that I earned my car. I worked my ass off for it. I've never had anything given to me, my first car I worked for months to buy, and it was the worst Cavalier ever created. Old telephone company car...it was yellow, kinda...
