Had my second playsession. This time on my 4k TV.

Graphics look good enough. The same as Grid 2019 I guess.

Made it to chapter 31 of the storymode.
Fun game overall.

But one negative and unacceptable thing. This game suffers from some serious performance issues in certain races on Xbox Series X.
It feels not even like it has to do with what is going on on screen. It just turns into a stuttering mess. and this for A whole lap.......

This really needs to be patched.

Spent an hour with its online races and it is really fun, the drop in into mid race is really convenient.

Also I notice DLC cars still spawn in career mode, GT4 races in career has a decent variety of cars. AI could be faster though, not having much trouble reaching podium even on "Legends" difficulty when starting at the last position.

Tried it out for a bit, and yeah, this game commits the worst crime possible, it's a boring arcade racer, cars don't really feel like anything, it's not outright terrible like The Crew, but not good either, just like driving a dead fish. No feedback or vibration in the controller, no skill required, it's just sleep inducing. Do yourself a favour and go play Dirt 2 to remind yourself of a time when Codemasters made great racing games.

Thank goodness the mistake i made in pre ordering pgarbage 3 has made me cautious when it comes to games like this.

How is progression / earning credits / buying and unlocking cars linked over the various modes? For example if I play story mode, do I earn credits and can that be used for career? Also which modes give cars as rewards?

Trying to figure out what is most efficient to start with: story or career.

It starts count down when you play the game. And it isn't 10 hours straight but 10 hours of your play time. So when you exit the game counter stops and resume when you come back and play.
Awesome and thank you. Considering the 10% discount & early access, this is clearly both the cheapest and best way to play test, then purchase (or decide not to purchase) the game.

That is…. simply aweful. What do they want to advertise? A car crashing simulator? That features trailer from earlier this year was WAY better.

Honestly one of the worse launch trailers I’ve ever seen for a game I think.
It's the most honest trailer of this game I've seen so far. I'd say its doing its job just fine.

Having played the game for a good few hours, it's far from honest. It makes it look as though the game is thrilling and that the AI will actually be fast enough to have an incident with you.

Neither are true in my experience so far.

Love how you can play the career and players from all platforms can jump into your race and take over the ai players. This is a brilliant addition

Progression looks quite similar to Grid 2019 with just some rearrangement.

Story mode gives you credits when you complete each chapter and objectives, I don’t think it unlock new cars for you.

You can also earn credits through career mode and I think most of the car unlocks are there. I think there is a good selection of cars are just unlocked and not bought. Credits earned seems to be mostly for vehicle upgrades, mechanic and teammate perk tree.

I was playing the GT4 career races last night and the starting car (free) is the Camaro GT4 and the 350z can be bought with credits. After finishing 2 events, I got the Porsche 997 GT4 unlocked and available to use.

I’ll try out more of it later tonight, is a pretty fun game but the AI is quite slow most of the time.

Nemesis system don’t seem to be as ridiculous as Grid 2019, the AI don’t rocket boost itself from last position all the way up just to bump you off the track anymore.

I don't think I've ever met an AI driver named "Player 2".

when your in multiplayer is your traction control settings etc based on your offline? and if so, what does everyone run on those settings?

If you think the cars feel numb and undifferentiated, go to settings and controller, and there you can adjust the vibration for suspension, tires, engine, and collisions. I have them at 120 (base is 100) and that improves the feeling of your controller (in my case, series S) and accentuates the differences of the cars.

My audio was horrible on the video so sorry in advanced, I didn't realize my mic sensitivity was that high.

I'm driver Level 30 already and about half way through the career mode, and partly through the My Team section and it's a solid 7/10 in my opinion.

I have my difficulty cranked to Legendary, assists turned off besides ABS, and the AI will give me a run for my money if I'm not running blistering laps.

It's essentially Grid 2019 with better everything overall but only marginally

3.9 GB patch on Xbox Series X (I already preloaded a while ago). I guess that’s the day 1 patch. :)

I saw some mention of frame rate drops in early access trial builds on Series X|S so I hope that fixes this.

The same patch just popped for the Series S and I'm still in the demo mode. I did not watch framerate drops in the S, but they were very noticeable in the One X.

Edit: It seems that after the patch, although I still have 4 hours left in the demo's counter, I cannot play past the midpoint of the career (but I can play past career events) unless I unlock the game.

You mean locked in story? I saw someone mention that the 10-hour trial was also locked to chapter 6, similar to that preview build the media got their hands on for a while.

Anyway, in less than 3 hours I’ll be able to give it a try myself (the full game then). I played so many GRID 2019 races the past few weeks to get all seasonal content done, I’ll be in excellent shape to compare the game to its predecesso. 😁

So excited about games lately: Horizon Zero Dawn revisited, Forbidden West afterward, then GRID Legends tonight, GT7 in a week, new FH5 season next week, probably DLC1 info soonish. Lots of great stuff to be excited about. But on the flip side of emotions also heartbroken to see what’s happening in Ukraine today. 😪

I'm finding the volume way to low on headphones ,car engine seams very muted even when on max volume , and master volume at ten ,will not buy it unless they fix this

An update popped up on my PS5 for Grid Legends. The update number was 1.005.000 and wondering if anyone knows what the update is for. I forgotten to view the details of the update before downloading. Still have to wait till later to play the game.

Sounds like a problem on your end. I had to turn everything down cause the defaults were too loud.
