Fellas I'm thinking about getting Grid legends for half-off, is it worth it?

1. It will be given away free to Amazon Prime members.

2. It has game progression breaking bugs (which I expect will be fixed with the new DLC, but this is EA so who knows.)

3. The vehicle handling is completely arcade.

4. The AI can be really aggressive.

5. The car list is kind of dodgy.

6. The track list could be better. The city tracks are really good though.

I've had fun with it, but these are really big points you need to consider before you drop money on this game.

As a Game Pass user I maybe buy 1 game at full price throughout the year (and any others at discount during any sales event.) Some purchases I have come to regret (Project Cars 3), but not Grid Legends, which I paid in full.

Don't believe that the handling is pure arcade. There is subtlety to be found in the tuning/upgrade system, and many cars can be improved there for the more difficult events.

Is the AI way too aggresive? It can be when rivals enter into the nemesis mode, however, all around they behave competitively against you and among themselves. These are no parades of shiny cars.

Drifting and stadium super truck racing events are quite fun (amazing it exists in real life!)

I fully recommend it at 50% off the regular price.

I respectfully disagree. Tuning options are incredibly limited and don't offer much impact, and the upgrade system borders on the nonsensical, such as removing weight from an already stripped out race car.

Some vehicles pivot weirdly and they all have unnatural levels of grip, that is until an AI driver taps your rear and sends you spinning. Cars like the 787B can literally drive through traffic, sending the other cars flying through the air.

The nemesis system is currently bugged in the game as well. You can end up with other drives and your teammate being a permanent nemesis if you're not careful and it doesn't go away after time like it should.

As for another poster commenting that the car list is awesome, I also respectfully disagree. There are too many fictional cars. You'd think a hybrid race would include the 918, P1, Sian, etc. but it has two completely made up cars.

Codemasters really cheaped out on licensing in this game and it shows.

But like I said, I have had fun. I hope there are some bug fixes with the new DLC. The biggest flaw right now lies with sponsors being locked and thus the end game of the Gauntlet is complete unaccessible.

@PJTierney hey! So there is still a progression bug it seems like. In the rookie touring cups, it says Unlock Clio Cup vehicle upgrade stage 2 to access this event which I did. I even paid for the vehicle upgrades. And yet, it’s still locked.

I know you’re a social community manager. Is there any way you can communicate that this game still has progression bugs? Has there been any word on an ETA on the release of the fix. I’m kind of finding it a bit ridiculous that this is still a thing…

You actually need to unlock stage 3 upgrades in order to unlock "Finale" events, despite it saying stage 2. You will need to do this even on cars that have no stage 3 parts, such as electric vehicles.

The fastest way to gain mileage is to run the Indy oval in custom race, but that is a bit of a grind and it doesn't pay out credits properly. (Most finales are also bugged and don't pay the proper rewards.)

So a good way to increase mileage and earn some credits at the same time is to run career elimination matches, but change the race length to x5 in the difficulty settings before you do. The race will pay a lot more and doesn't take any longer.

"The v3.1 Update will begin rolling out across all platforms as of 2pm UTC tomorrow Tuesday, June 21st."

@Pepperoncini hopefully this solves some of the issues you’re having 🙂

If not, that’s the best place to report them too.

Is that a bug? Lol. Because that doesn’t make sense. Anyway, maybe I’ll do this. Or I’ll just wait for the update below.

Thanks! I appreciate it. I hope I didn’t come off as not civil. Just got angry because I was grinding and it never popped up.

Apparently it was a bug introduced in the last patch, along bugs preventing the Distort and AVAX sponsorship challenges from being completed. It may be fixed in the new update, but if it isn't then you know how to fix it. And the tip about making more credits is hopefully helpful regardless. :)

Thank you! Yes it’s helpful. I think I’ve been okay with slowly playing this. I love logging in once in awhile to do events with the wheel. Having a wheel makes it so much fun.

Can't wait to try out the Fordzilla. Didn't know it made with assistance from gaming community
