Group 3 BoP Testing

Hey All,

The next car profile / BoP test is available to you and it's the Hyundai Genesis Gr3 car! Very interesting car, I also think the base is actually a GTR but no turbo and some tweaks? Could be wrong but it feels like it at least! It also feels better than the GTR and the times show it I guess :D!

In addition please can I have your opinion on Nurburgring GP being in this test? With the addition of tyres (Tyre walls) now in FIA races I feel that Nurburgring times are not relevant anymore as you used to be able to run wide which is what I've done but now you can no longer do this... and I've always had the worry in my mind the chicane can impact on the test results? In fact I believe that's probably the weakest part of the test currently apart from me of course haha! Question is does it stay in? Or do I stop running it for the test?

Enjoy the profile / test though :D!

I would definitely keep Nürburgring. Simply for the reason to have more tracks in the test. If there any "only" 4 left I don't think the result will be more balanced. And as long as you test them on the same base (without tires/walls) you will be fine. so in my opinion you loose more than you gain when taking out Nürburgring.
And who knows, currently they are FIA only, maybe they take them out again, maybe they add them on other tracks, maybe...too much speculation in my eyes. we don't know what they plan next...

And don't get me wrong. I put "only" on brackets as I can see the amount of time you put in here. Very nice thread here and I am following this for a while now.

Big thanks and loads of respect for this!
Keep on and be sure I will follow your channel, with our without Nürburgring!

Hey All,

Sorry forgot to post these yesterday but 2 videos out yesterday :D! First off I have taken Nurburgring out, but it will return... I did mention it in the video and looking at the Fors and Against I decided to take it out to then revisit it once we've done the initial BoP test and rerun all cars. That is explain in this video here;

Yes there could be more tyre walls at other tracks but the anticipation is that ALL initial BoP tests will be done by the 9th May.... Yes that is quite a schedule coming up as you can imagine as we have 14 cars still to do in essentially 8 days :P, but we will definitely try! In terms of the times at other tracks the only real significant one would be interlagos as I was thinking about this after releasing this and during the Lamborghini BoP test that turn 1 and turn 7 (I think) at the top of the hill potentially could have one... but lets see. We'll also be adding more tracks in the future, but that's all explain in the video!

Right 2nd of all and as I've just mentioned the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 BoP test is here! Another MR car which is a bit wild... ok I lie, it's very wild! It's also absolutely rapid! So do enjoy that one!

Also there was going to be one released today, but I'm very tired today and I didn't want it to impact the test so I'll continue tomorrow onwards with the BoP tests!

While I've taken it out for now it will definitely be returning :)! I'm going to rerun all cars back at Nurburgring once we've done the first 4 tracks. You're right with the time as it was 5 hours + at Nurburgring GP alone but we can revisit it and really delve deeper. Big thanks for your support though and opinion, I really do like seeing other peoples views and opinions!

Nice job on 2nd. Did you do a one or two stopper?

I felt I was losing more time compared to everyone else with the barriers than without. It's only natural as a competitive racer that I'll complain about anything that costs me time.

And yes, I would remove Nurburgring. Maybe have the long Kyoto reverse layout as a substitute?

Cheers mate, that was a 1 stopper as there's no way I could overtake any cars due to straight line speed :embarrassed:! The winner 2 stopped in the Ferrari but no way that car could do a 1 stopper with its tyre wear, so was an interesting race for sure!

@Tidgney first I love your work. But the spreadsheet can be a bit disorientating on mobile devices. I think using alternating colours could improve readability.
But most of all, keep up the good work!

I still love my BigMac, but I just can‘t resist a tasty Whopper

I hope you've spoken to your 458 about her feelings after this! I thought you were loyal... Unfriended

Bring your Lambo and I'll show you how fine the ass of that GR3 458 looks ;)

Lambo' ass >>>>> 458's boring basic ass
458's personality >>>>>>>>>>> Lambo being a basic 🤬

Lambo was designed with a ruler man. All angles.

Ferrari has flowing lines and sounds better to those who are behind you. Plus the overrun on downshift and backing off throttle sounds amazing on replay.

Blame @PirovacBoy for my Ferrari love in
But das ass has got a lot going on man  thicc wheel arches, big diffuser.... y'see what I mean?
The ferrari's got a sexy diffuser... but that's about it :P

Never said the Lambo's a singer  that Ferrari's sound is the reason I'm still alive

After doing this entire song and dance with the Group 4 cars I would recommend using Autodrome Lago Maggiore - GP. It pretty much has everything you need for a balanced track. Slow speed corners, mide speed corners, and high speed ss'.

Don’t blame me Mate, i just got weak. It’s in our Nature, we have a beautiful Wife and yet the temptation is lurking out there :P

Very twitchy though! I gained 5 positions in my Lexus from people in Supras spinning out :)
Probably also because it burned the tires in a zippy... after 10 laps the tires were already.. melting down...

To stabilize the car (with the burned down tires) I had to implement TCS=1 ....

Hey All :),

Sorry forgot to post the car profile yesterday which was the Jaguar F-Type Gr.3 car. I'm not a particular fan of this car as I found it pretty... err... boring? I can't explain it but it just felt boring and a car I certainly wouldn't be bothered in trying in the future. Also not sure what they can do to improve it!

Soooo tonight's video! GT by Citroen, and what a car this is! This video is worth checking out although some of you checking the spreadsheet regularly may have already seen the results ;)

Cheers for the feedback, unfortunately due to time before my holiday I'm not going to get chance to update it for mobile devices, I will however once I return look into that a little bit more for you :)!

Personally I didn't think they'd put track limits in at Nurburgring (Ignoring the chicane for now as I do think that's the weak part of the track in terms of consistency). I'm starting to like Maggiore a bit more but again that track can be tricky with track limits as some cars will benefit exactly like nurburgring on the exit running that bit further wide :S. I'll eventually do all the tracks but I'm going to keep track limits much more in mind on new tracks, and nurburgring I'm going to look at specifically once the initial test is done!

Great work on group 4 though Windfire as I think that class is far harder to do this with than the group 3's due to all the different drivetrains! Really is a great job you've done :D!

Could you add a percentage of the fastest time next to the total time as this would give a good scale

That's a good shout actually, leave that with me and I'll add it to the development list on the spreadsheet (Quite a bit on there now haha :D)

Hi @Tidgney, thanks for doing these!

Do you use stock brake balance?

Also, your 911 RSR lap on Interlagos was really good! In the daily race last week on Interlagos, two drivers did a 1:30.0 in the RSR with BoP. Is this possible to do legitimately? Curious because they both didn’t have replays. I’m struggling to see where in the lap that time could come off from.

Would be interesting to see a re-test of the NSX at some point. I think I'm right in saying the original test was before it got buffed in the April BoP update. I've been using it a lot lately and I think it's very competitive now.

It's still not the fastest in a straight line, but it can hold its own and seems very balanced in the corners. Main weaknesses for me are it needs to be revved hard to maintain speed (not so good for fuel saving) and it's not as stable over curbs as the 911. Probably not as good on the brakes, either. I swear the 911's main advantage is you can brake a yard or so later for every corner.

Anecdotally, it seems very easy on its tires, though that could just be my driving style.
