Group C Endurance League Starting Saturday January 4th, 2025, Open 7pm, Qualifying 8pm, Race 8:45pm Eastern USOpen

Hey guys may have run into an expected problem. My internet went out about 6:20pm Eastern. Right in the middle of me doing a race to get my daily mileage in. I have reset my router twice so far. Sadly the internet has not come be on yet. If it comes back on at a reasonable time tonight I will still host. If not I we unfortunately have to move around some stuff.

And for those curious I'm using my phone data to access PS App and GT Planet. Pay attention to one of these. I will announce if I'm hosting tonight still.

I have reset my router possibly for the 15th time now. Still no status change yet. If I'm able to still host tonight. I will likely cancel qualifying at this point. Procedure is to set the grid by points. Especially since we new to the series drivers and the Tokyo track are not everyone's favorite. It is more important to provide a reasonable amount of practice.

I logged off already, please post here if you get going, I may be able to make it

I had some good practice with Massi tonight, I hopped in the 787 with RS first then swapped to RM and ran a personal best of 1:42, a little slower than Massi who I think was on RH. I didn't tune the car at all so I think I could have found a little more time, probably not enough to keep up with Massi on RM or RS, but it was still fun.

Open now 9:30pm start. No qualifying. Sorry saves me some scheduling headaches to get it in tonight.

Our next venue is the real world Japanese circuit Autopolis International Racing Course. Yes that's the full name of the track. The 2.9 mile circuit was opened in November of 1990 as an international alternative to the aging Suzuka and Fuji. Making the track slightly younger than me.

Anyways while the track has hosted some international events. The track has never gained it's dreamed popularity. Both due to the track not providing the best racing, but also due to the track's location.

Being located in mountainous rural interior of the island of Kyushu. Japan's most Southern and 3rd largest of the main islands. While the location provides beautiful scenery. The rural road system needed to get to track is not necessary up to handling large volumes of traffic. You know like the kind you get for sporting events. Someone didn't think that through.

As for the track itself. Despite some financial troubles track has had. Autopolis' facilities and infrastructure are supposedly fairly high standard. So it's a nice place if you make too the track. I must point out the usual feature of the pit complex being on the exterior of the track. Rare to see for real life race tracks.

As for advice strategy wise is similar to the Horse Thief Mile. Track position vs grip vs tire wear. No tire requirements due to the possibility of rain. As I don't know if the tire penalty is void if the race is very wet. As of for setup. This is not a place I've fully figured out yet. While this should be good track for the 919. I myself will be spending the week experimenting with setups to improve my chances. Good luck guys.

Hey guys I this is something I've been thinking about for a bit. We have a 3 week break between the Blue Moon Oval race scheduled May 18th and our Le Mans scheduled June 8th. June 1st was left open as a possible postponement date. I have been thinking of filling this gap with a special exhibition round. My thought is make this an unrestricted round. Meaning no BOP or limits on HP and weight. You'll would finally be able to use the turbo / supercharger most race cars can get. Both classes would be involved either mixed or separate depending on track. Would you'll be interested in this exhibition round?

Being a non points paying race we could run any car we choose?

I decided to pitch the idea before doing any major work on it. Fine details still need to be worked out but, yes I'll probably remove car restrictions besides for classes. I'm also debating whether to allow a vote for the venue or use one of the tracks didn't make the cut for this season.

I've also already started looking into what I want to do for a late summer / fall league. We are starting to get a good reliable group again. So I want something to announce before end the season. To help keep players around. Last year's concept unfortunately wasn't well received. So I'm definitely not trying that again.

Only 3 days for until our next race. A reminder on race details.

Any way I could sign up for a specific race? Would love to do 2 Hours of Le Mans.

Yes one-off starts are still for now. We are finally starting to grow. Anyways lobbies are friends only. Send a friend request to TheColdWarriors and will go from there.

If you don’t mind me asking, what was last year concept?

I was in a short lived MX-5 cup series, that was very competitive but I think on the wrong day/time of year for it to continue. The league's only series on Friday evening for the EU.

For the one off race I’m intrigued but it would depend on the track because I can think of a few I just wouldn’t really want to race on.

Page 1 post 4 should more throughly answer your question. Simple answer I tried a mixed series of different stuff that wasn't popular including few no shows. I wasn't planning on the same concept every year for the summer fall series anyway but, that was a definitely a no go. I have something new in the works but, I will not announcing anything yet in case I decide against it.

The exhibition race would just be a special non scoring round with a special rule set or feature for this league. Similar to what Nascar does with the All-star race. I wish this to be my annual flagship series at least for GT7. And is my primary focus. Posts 2 and 3 solely dedicated this mixed class WEC / IMSA style series but, I'm a person of multiple interests racing and don't want to be stuck with the same concept all year. Plus I want some downtime so I can get stuff done in this GT7 and others. I still only completed the Master B License. I do intend to do the others eventually. Get paid and free cars is a great deal to me.

As for venue I could allow a vote but, there were more few tracks that didn't make the cut for this season or last season. So may just choose one of those. While I do have favorites. There are very few tracks I truly hate.

Though there is 1 or I guess 2 exceptions since it's bidirectional. And that track is Blue Moon Bay Infield B with reason. I've hated this layout even since it was added in GT Sport. I've raced a few sport mode races on the layout and hate yet to be impressed. To me it's an unnecessary waste of data. The Infield A layout is a good oval converter to a road course example. The Infield B is garbage. For starters it was just someone ruining the infield lake by building a bridge over it. The layout offers very little extra for drivers. There is 2 to maybe 4 braking zones at best. Anyways the B layout drives sort of like a weird flat oval more than a road course. Passing it opportunities are not great do to track features and barriers making passing risky. If Infield A is too hard just run the oval at that point. It provides great racing with almost anything.

And yet with my quest to host on every track at least once. I reluctantly may host on this layout in future. Why because somewhere out I'm sure fool with terrible taste likes Infield B. Whether I'll survive that day remains to be seen. "Cough Cough"

If I get a track pick again I now know what it will be.
Are you still short on in game cash and cars? I have 97 million and rarely fall below 90 million, when I get too close to 100 million I go to the legendary market and get seconds or even thirds on cars to use up cash.

Hey guys sorry for posting silence. Had a weird day. As long as my internet works properly this Saturday. We have less than 24 hours until our race this weekend at Autopolis. We then get a week off before High-Speed Ring on May 4th. The High-Speed Ring race is our 2nd 1 hour 30 minute races for this season. And is worth a moderately higher points payout.

High-Speed Ring is are next venue. This was 1 of the 11 original tracks from 1st Gran Turismo game. The track has appeared in every game except Gran Turismo 3 and Gran Turismo Sport. After both these games the track has returned longer and slightly modified from the previous version. Despite the fictional track is supposedly located in a remote area on Japan's most northern and second largest is Hokkaido. It is highly suspected the track's layout was based off of old Fuji. Why the track's forward layout is counterclockwise maybe a reference to an early event at Fuji.

A lap current version of High-Speed Ring is considered to 2.70 Miles (4.35 km) in length. The track still only has 6 counted corners. All with varying degrees of banking. This gives the track more of an oval like feel and a very high average speed. Oh and beware rain is possible here. The track's difficulty ramps up a lot in the wet.

Now a more surprising characteristics for High-Speed Ring is the very high tire wear. I guess this version of High-Speed Ring was paved with cheese graters. Tire wear is high enough I consider making a special tire setting specifically for this race but, I decided the high tire wear is apart of the track's character. By the way as a comparison. Note the fuel and tire multipliers are the same as what was use for Daytona Road Course, Spa, and Nurburgring races. Hard Racing Tires will likely be the primary choice for everyone. And you'll still have to short pit. Michelin would make great profit of this round. Good luck.

Why did you change the fuel and tire multipliers?

Why did you change the fuel and tire multipliers?
Because of fuel range with both the Nurburgring Endurance layout and Willow Springs Horse Thief Mile on the schedule forced my hand. To everyone to complete for the fastest lap bonus. I everyone to be able to at least 3 laps on fuel at the Nurburgring. Surprisingly Gr.3 cars have a shorter fuel range than Gr.1 cars. Running x4 fuel multipler at Nurburgring was too much for some Gr.3 cars so I dropped it to x3. However I felt x3 fuel multipler was too long for Gr.1. cars at the Horse Thief Mile. So no balancing the 2 classes wasn't easy. So all the 1 hour road course races we have been using x4 fuel and x8 tires. For the 90 mins and 2 hour races I dropped to x3 fuel and x6 tires. It is still the same consumption / wear ratio. Just with an increased range. Since the ovals are being raced single class. I made the fuel and tire multipliers more specifically for that class and track combination.
