Group C Endurance League Starting Saturday January 4th, 2025, Open 7pm, Qualifying 8pm, Race 8:45pm Eastern USOpen

I dont care about Points, I mentioned that many times. We are both going to watch the other GR1 cars leave us at BMB and LeMans, niether have top speed.
I planned to sacrifice the High-Speed Ring and Blue Moon Races. I'm not as a worried about Le Mans. We're running the with the chicanes at Le Mans this year. The additional heavy braking zones benefit the hybrids boosted cars greatly. And I think the hybrid boost will help at Watkins Glen Long Course as well.

The LM55 top speed should be better the 2011 R18. OCR_GUI_JOSA. Where you lost out at High-Speed Ring was high speed cornering. When I may or may not have tested competitors cars. I learned that at minimal downforce the R18 was still able run turn 6 over 185 mph without fine tuning to improve it farther. My car was around low 170s. Your Mazda was only slightly better than. Meaning OCR_GUI_JOSA was entering the front straightaway at least 10 mph higher than you.

The Audi was about 5mph faster down the straight than I was. Remember, having the ability to adjust downforce and suspension can have huge effect. I found over 3 seconds at BMB yesterday with tuning.

Special Event Announcement

I got to working finishing that special event. I decided to use one of the track that was cut from the 2024 season. The classes will be split into 2 separate lap races both about 30 minutes each.

The races are scheduled for Saturday June 1st. The venue will be Sainte-Croix A Forward layout for both races. Despite being the premier layout this track is generally ignored by even Gran Turismo. I have yet to host on myself in GTS or GT7. Making the layouts characteristics a mystery to many.

From testing to determine fuel and tire multipliers. I will say the A layout has a very stop go like feel to it. Besides that what kind of setup or pit strategy work for it I can't say. So I think it's perfect for an event that will act like an All-star event for us. I am still finalizing timing and how for to space the races apart. Besides that this event is set.

Hey guys I don't usually like to do last minute changes but, I've discovered tire wear for our race at the Blue Moon Bay Oval is higher than intend. One of the updates since testing in December must have increase it here. So I've decided to lower tire wear from x4 to x3. I may lower it farther if I feel it needs to be. Busy tonight I'll have to more testing later. Updated race details below.

I want tire wear as high as possible, I feel it gives me an advantage. 🙂 🙂

I thought you were switching cars? I want RH to last a fuel run for at least a majority of cars in the class. Unfortunately this tire wear change has made it that only some cars will require a pit stop for the Qualifier. So I might have to force a pit stop.

I will know after this weekend after some more testing. Only have a couple hours Sat and Sun mornings log on.

Hey guys reminder no race tonight. We race next Saturday at the Blue Moon Bay Oval. Even with the tire wear decrease. There are a few cars in the class that may not be able to run the 20 lap sprint without stopping even Hards. So to be fair. I've decided to mandate a tire change for the qualifier to force at pit stop. A set of Hards and Mediums must be used during qualifying. There is still no tire requirements for feature race. This is only for qualifying.

Hey guys with only 3 events left in this season is coming to end. This WEC / IMSA style sports car series will return in January 2025 should life allow it. I will likely take some time off before starting something this late summer fall seasons. I have a bunch of ideas I'm considering. I will like to hear what suggestions you guys would have. I willing to race just about everything. The biggest limitations would be how complicated an idea would be to organize. Please note I do not guarantee I would use your idea or anyone else's.

One make, cool cars, not Civics and Priuses and hopefully under used cars, different car/track every race, BOP, no tuning.

That's essentially what I tried last year and it was not very popular. I had to cancel 2 events do to lack of attendance. Hey don't knock Prius races until you try them. And I very much like the New 2022 Civic. Best FWD car I've driven so far in my Gran Turismo career. Much better than that FWD Nissan Prototype.

I have yet to drive a "good" FWD car. Race cars should be fast.

I have done a DTM event with the 88-90 190Evo, M3 and the ford. That produced good races and I might still have the lobby setup.

Also did do a Mazda cup event that was fun and had tight race but the day didn’t work well with that group.

Priuses are bad the 1 make race a couple weekends ago sucked in the Toyota cup event. That being said fwd can be fun but the cars need to be a decent handling car and not too underpowered because otherwise it is too hard to pass if you never have to brake.

No, but it certainly helps
As someone with a soft spot for slow car racing I disagree. Faster cars are more difficult to drive and make it more difficult to race in close proximity to other cars. Also the faster cars get the less passing opportunities are available. There are also techniques unique to racing underpowered cars that also require time and experience to learn.

If Gran Turismo gave us more than just the classic Alfa DTM car I would consider. Also classic cars being not regularly in the Used or Legend dealers makes doing classic events for specific class and eras problematic. I very much like to a Group C series but, not everyone owns these cars.

So if I do something like a one-make series. It will have something in Brand Central that is not a invitation car. That being said I tried a one-make series last fall like fastone371 suggested with a different car every event and it didn't seem draw much attention.

And I really wanted to do that Prius race but, wasn't available that night to make it. I find the Prius performance capables impressive how little HP it has.

I think the slow cars and close proximity racing is exactly what creates dirty tactics

Hey, as a slow car enthusiast I take offense to this claim. I raced plenty of clean slow car races. At the same time I had been hit by other players or I've accidentally hit someone else. If can't not hit people at 60 mph. You shouldn't be allowed on track.

You didn’t miss much it was basically pin the throttle and use the 1-2 cars outside of you to make the turn. Or just dive bomb your way into the car 3 seconds ahead of you. As a driver that prides myself on keeping my S SR rating it was complete hell I only did the 1 race instead of trying to improve my points in a later round.
