Group C Endurance League Starting Saturday January 4th, 2025, Open 7pm, Qualifying 8pm, Race 8:45pm Eastern USOpen

Just asking but instead of increasing the length of the season why not drop one of the Watkins Glen or LeMans races both of which are there twice??
Because I want on the both on the schedule. IMSA raced both layouts for Watkins Glen in the same season. Evidence of this from the fact that the lap record for the current Short track layout is still held by a Group C era Jaguar XJR-14 set in 1992.

As of for Le Mans. While the race is held once a year. The addition of the 2 chicanes on back straight occurred during the Group C era. The last race with the chicanes was 1989. The chicanes were added for the 1990 race. Because apparently the cars reaching 250 mph on the full straight was considered too fast. Both FIA WSC and the Japanese home series stopped running GT cars together with the Group C prototypes. So they were both the last cars to race full straight and the first cars to race it with the chicanes.

Also multiple races at the same venue and or layout is allowed.

It was more pertaining to the length of the season, now over 4 months if races are held every weekend, but I digress, I understand, I guess.

The season spans 6 months. I do plan in off weeks. I don't want to host a race every week all year. To the host that do good for them.

This is the schedule I looking at currently. Nothing is 100% set. I may still move some races around or adjust some race lengths.

Anyone who has something that may interfere with the races you picked out. Please inform me as soon as possible. And not the day before the race. I will not move around a races last minute.

I have made some changes to the schedule and race lengths. Suzuka was shorten as I'm disappointed with it's night setting. And I have lengthened Interlagos to a 90 minutes race and the Tokyo East race to a 2 hours races. I moved some of the moderate and long races to dates following a break to allow more time to be focused on preparing for them. Once again please alter me as soon as possible if you can't make the selected date of your track picks.

Oh one major thing I'm still heavily at work on is a tire wear setting. That big update really changed the wear differences between the 3 dry tires and the wets. While I did find a setting I liked for that worked with all 3 dry tires didn't work for the wets. I'm considering eliminating one of dry tires mostly hards as a choice. I may have found a setting that will work for softs and mediums. Currently still testing it.

Why eliminate one of the strategies that one can possibly use to win a race by dropping the choice of hard tires???
Because the wear setting I currently looking at Mediums would last too long. No one would need to use them. I still might go back to the that other setting anyways but, even I think the tire wear was too for softs and wets. And I'm big fan of high tire wear. Makes for better racing and more drama in my opinion.

Hey guys a heads-up to all 5 Group C cars are available in the Legends Dealer again. Likely for this week's limited time event. If you still need a car or wish to test out the others. Now is your chance. I recommend the Porsche or Mercedes-Benz for those who are unfamiliar with prototypes. Though be aware they do lack straightaway speed compared to the Jaguar, Mazda, and Nissan. Also remember this series will run without BOP.

I have the intentions to eventually post performance characteristics details for the 5 cars in the forum but, admittedly it's not my primary focus. So I don't know when I'll get around to it. Also I'm a controller driver. So my feel of their performance may not not translate to wheel drivers.

I know I said I probably won't host in December but, I free this Saturday. And I'm pretty much done with testing. Just finalizing a few things. So who would be interested if I host something last minute for fun?

How about stock one-makes for one of my personal favorites and a Gran Turismo classic the Gen 1 NSX. Open to both the '92 and '02 models which are close in performance. The '02 NSX can be purchased new if someone needs a car. I think for 500,000 cr. A little pricey but, not too bad I'm thinking 20 Minutes races. Probably run 1 or both Suzuka layouts to appease Honda. Then run through the classic Gran Turismo originals. Open standard time 7pm Eastern.

Does Interlagos have lights, never raced at night there before?
No It's not lit like Daytona. Sadly most of the lighting the track doesn't work. Nor does the lighting in the surrounding environment of Sao Paulo. Suzuka is kind of of similar with both the track and environment. They don't even have the ferris wheel light up which was really disappointing. Most lighting also doesn't work at Watkins Glen either. No even for the pit. Don't know if you noticed that last season. Not sure why they would allow night options at tracks with such poor detailing for it.

I do somewhat try take the track's environment into consideration when making the schedule. Which is why the warmer environment track's are at the beginning of the season. Being that we visiting Interlagos Which is in a tropical environment. At what would be mid summer from them. I decided to take a page from the 12 hours of Mount Panorama. And doing I believe are our 1st Night to Day. It won't be night long so I'm ignoring the poor detailing that makes the city of Sao Paulo look like the beginning of some disaster movie.

Is it possible to set the lobby to no BOP but restrict the settings?
As far as I tested, either is gonna be all free (and you rely on the honesty of the players) or BOP and no transmission setup (like we used on the last championship).
The BOP values for all the 5 cars are exactly 100% of power and weight except for the Jaguar that loses close to 60hp.

I wish to allow custom transmission setups and keep the natural feel the 33 to 37 years transmission. I'm most worried about the ban on the using modern Customizable Transmission: Racing Transmission. This will be a little hard to monitor and admitfully may rely on honesty.

Horsepower (HP) is restricted to no more than stock value. Please note you may run less HP if you find benefit to do so. The only way too increase HP is to add the turbo upgrades. Besides the excessive amounts of extra acceleration. This can be monitored pretty easily. Especially for the NA Jaguar and Mazda which should not have a turbo gauge at all. As for the Mercedes, Nissan, and Porsche. Turbo changes do reflect on the turbo gauge. I do own and drive these cars a lot and would get suspicious if the turbo gauge is reading incorrect levels.

Anyone who gets caught breaking regulations will be harshly penalized. And penalties will increase for multiple offenses.
If done by mistake and the player alerts me themselves to the regulations beach penalties may be slightly lessened. As DusanMandic9 did for the 1,600 Miles Series. Which he disqualified for the race.

Fortunately I can't use the paddle shifter on my wheel so it makes driving with that 35 year old custom transmission more realistic. How do you use an H pattern shifter when using a manual with the controller??

I press buttons. Using the older H pattern Transmission does effect the gap between gear changes.

Question show I enforce tire requirements at race tracks that don't have rain? Or do you want complete strategic freedom? I was going to do and I just realized I forgot about it. So what do you guys think?

On the left of the nitro settings there's the mandatory tire and above the nitro is the allowed tires settings.
If you dont want us to use the soft and want us to use for at least 1 lap the hard, you allow medium and hard, and on the mandatory set the hard.

On the last championship I saw you guys doing some crazy strategies but GT didnt had a good tire simulation. You had to go with the softest compound and it would be the best.
With the update that changed everything, there's more testing to do, as the soft is the fastest only in the very beginning of the tire. After that it already loses a lot of grip and the medium is faster.
