I think its an advantage for italian players that the GTacademy has started only today. They wont have so much time as all the other countries to improve their times. So it will be easier to stay in top 20...

unfortunately i dont have alot of time to set a new record these weeks..

maybe next year ill be in luck to have more free time..
 
Why didn'tI get the free car after registering (Italy) and running a few laps? What is the procedure?
 
Got my wheel yesterday, now just waiting on the internet which will arrive Tuesday, wonder what fake PSN name I'll create...

That WGP guy was at the top before but many have improved since then.

What do you think to the G27 wheel, are you as fast as with the GT wheel and what happened to it? How do you find the shifting, I might make the shift in the future to a G27 or a the T500RS if it gets a shifter and goes down slightly in price.


I had a go again on this again, first time I've attempted it since last week and went 6 tenths quicker. Used Active Steering Strong like EddSkill and also noticed you can take a different line for the 4th gear corner which is around the 1min 33 mark. I throwed the car in got on the power to get the tyres to slip enough to get on the inside line and managed to get a speed up to 94mph before downshifting to 3rd and turning left. I think this might be a quicker technique/line but not sure as I wasn't on a good lap. It is similar to the approach you use for Flugplatz on the Nordschelife or when you are trying to get the rear wheels to slip if you are forced to use SRF.

Right i'll start playing again now as I am now eligible :P. Focus on getting that time under 17 :D.

Nice article Maz - I wish you wrote it a day later so I could have got a mention :P

I've been finding it hard to improve recently as I've spent a lot of time away from the ps3 and the days that I did get to play ended with a time very close to my best but just not quite good enough.

I finally improved today for the first time in a long time and I'm back to 11th. At the rate things are going I'm guessing that a 17.0 or 17.1 will be needed to make the top 20. Does anyone else get that impression or am is it a bit much?
 
Unsure Dessy to be honest, I mean I have moved down only 2 spots in EU over the period I haven't played, I think anyone under 17.5 is going to begin to find it harder to improve. I mean I know what time I can get just getting that is an entirely different story :P.

Yeah, I find it's harder to improve but easier to get nearer your best each time.

I know exactly what time I am currently capable of too, but considering how much times have dropped in a little over 2 weeks, what's to say that by the end of the 6 weeks everyone won't be in the 16's? :crazy:
 
Absolutly gutted, just did a great lap ruined by the first and last corners, a .210 with losing approx 0.15 in first and 0.175 final corner, all sectors high .0s. Still i hope to be getting a wheel soon so that will be my last attempt until then.
Times have dropped more than i expected so yeah maybe a .2/.3 to qualify in UK.

I made a UK account in the name of AngstHammer which I thought was quite fitting. Haven't done a single lap though.
 
I made a nice jump last night too - 38th to 16th. I'm losing out .15 to .2 in the first sector to EDDSKILL and the rest on that damn back straight :)
Another 2/10's and i'll be happy(i hope :) )

i signed up to take part in the gt academy but ive not received an email saying i have successfully signed up...

i went online last night and i can play the track and i am currently ranked (though not very high), ive received a gtr car as a bonus?

is there someone i can contact, whats the deal? or am i ok?

Completely forgot you had your test today, SIIIIICKKK! So was I right, best feeling ever? When you getting your car sorted mate, lakeside cruise/brands hatch/absinthe 2011 👍
