Cheers Rutter200 :).

I wouldn't worry about your time :P, I'd bet my life that you've already qualified :P.

My last day on the pad, tomorrow I'll go back to the wheel so hoping I can get that 2:16 today otherwise might not end up having the fastest pad time but been good to have it for awhile :P.

yup checked spam/junk folder, managed to increase my rank and it is updating properly.....

Anyone got a contact email address i could send to?

Congrats to Tidgney & Superdan for passing your tests:tup:

Think I'm going to do a few laps tonight to get a feel for it again. Times are starting to close up and still ages to go:scared:
Thanks mate. I think your time will be safe though. :)

Completely forgot you had your test today, SIIIIICKKK! So was I right, best feeling ever? When you getting your car sorted mate, lakeside cruise/brands hatch/absinthe 2011 👍
Haha got to get my insurance first, anyone want to lend me £2500? :sly:
I've got motivation back to run GT Academy now aswell.

Well I didn't improve on my pad and will only be using it on the odd occasion while the wheel cools from now on.

Off to celebrate passing my test now!!

@ Dan, there was a news report on Granada reports (Local North West news) A lad got quoted £32k for a vauxhall Corsa lol (Insurance Quote).

Ran a few sessions at this one, took a while to get up to speed as I was trying to find a good setup, 2'17.006 is the best I could manage, but can see another 2 or 3 tenths left.

What do you mean by setup? Traction control, active sterring and sensitivity settings, or the wheel itself?

That, plus feedback strength, steering type, and power steering, not 100 per cent sure if the last 2 have any impact at all though.

Just improved my time from a 17.795 to 17.581, still slow compared to some . This moved me from 11th place to 4th in Holland :). Should be atleast 0.1sec left for me.

Once again another very nice article Maz!! Very interesting to see how other teams saw the competition and how they have changed on their views.

On an interesting note also just thought I'd say how interesting it is to see the difference between the pad and a wheel. Now currently my fastest wheel time is a 17.5 with my pad time being a 17.1.

From a wheel perspective it feels like some of the understeer has totally disappeared! It's quite a weird feeling actually when driving the car, specifically noticeable on the turn to the back straight. Might see about doing a detailed comparison some time :P depending on time available lol.

Another great read Maz:tup:

The corner out onto the back straight is doing me everytime. If I could get it right I think I could sneak a 16.6

Would some of you faster drivers be good enough to try a lap in AT mode and tell me what your best lap time is as I have no benchmark to aim for. Currently my best is 2:31.239 :)

Interesting PSN nickname choice Mr. Holland :sly:

Any particular reason why you chose the 19th element as your inspiration for it? :D

Lol, no particular reason, but get that potassium in ya all, good for the muscles;) Ran probably 4 or 5 sessions at this one but having issues with internet, my best time is 2'16.807 but that failed to register. Not using Active steering.

My best time so far, 4th overall:tup:

2'16.665

Settings:
Steering type- Simulation (makes a subtle but noticeable difference)
Feedback- 1
Aids- Only ABS 1

Thanks for pushing me down a place Dan!:grumpy:

Na joke brilliant stuff again! dont think i could beat a 16.7 even with a wheel.

The leaderboards seen to have almost come to a holt, suprised to still be in top 10 in UK.

Yeah I noticed that during my stints, but I'm sure it will pick up as the deadline approaches;) But I think your time will hold up regardless.

@Tidgney, Hilarous finish to your lap mate, and you're rubbing it in to G27 users like me who can't use the horn, haha!

haha, cheers :P, and congratulations on your time O.O pretty insane I must say! I think im still going to keep at it a bit on the pad while moving to the wheel :), but flashing lights and horn finish has to be done :D

edit: Not really played that much this weekend getting up at 5am to Watch the formula 1 kind of made me slightly tired :P, plus Uni and also creating a 1hr 30 minute racing programme from GT5 :embarrassed:.

Very productive lap there Holl0number1 :)

... saved the gardeners lots of time doing those grass verges  and fantastic control with the 1 wheel on tar incidents :scared:

Bravo! :sly:

OMG First pad under 1:17!!! :D So happy thought I'd go on for an hour and well I have PB'd every sector and 16.977 is by far no where near my best, I got a .780 on the first sector as one of my PB's. Oh I am so so happy! Might keep trying on the pad see how low I can go, while practicing wheel a bit!! :).

Congratulations mate! Stunning time with the pad, I'll be sure to watch the replay. My best T1 is a high .8xx lol, .780 is epic.

Cheers! I couldn't believe my .780 shame its not my fastest lap :( (Got rather excited when I saw it and messed up the long left lol), I just hope I can do it again. Main reason for it was the perfect angle going through the first corner.

@ Marky O nice, got something to really aim for now! :P. Is there a link to the Japanese leader boards wouldn't mind taking a gander at their times, see where I stack up there :embarrassed:

Within the event rules, and dubiously dirty anyway without proper (pointless) analysis.

First vid I saw of this event tbh, and if everyone is doing it due to sloppy rules by the event organizers I suppose it's only fair to join suit :indiff: just doesn't look as impressive as some of the replays you have posted in the past... so thought i would mention it in passing :dopey:

There's actually a compliment alongside the negative comment on this occasion! must be getting old :sly:

@MarkWebber Great car control in that vid - that's given me some pointers towards getting faster. I've only managed 2:21s, but find control very difficult on a pad and I need to adjust the lines I take quite drastically if your lap is anything to go by.

Hehe, loosing your touch at being an ass:sly:, given this TT a crack?

Maybe this is not worth posting, but the game keeps freezing when I'm running GT academy.:(
It's only when running gt academy. The problem turned out last thursday. I'm posting this because I thought maybe someone could help me.
