For this track im now amazed how competitive the pad is, if it was indy again like last year i dont think pad would be as competitive, with its slower more precise on the power and steering corners.
With the G25 i think ill have the put a lot of time in from scratch almost to even beat my own pad time, with the pad i could definatly see a 2'16.8 adding sectors up. Although trying on indy with the G25 i already seem to be up to a good pace, were as Eifel im 1 sec down on my own time after about a total of 20 laps.
Im now not to fussed on finishing top few, 20th is as good as 1st when it comes down to the finals....:sly: and if im seen as the worst one there thats probably an advantage.

I found that Eifel seems to take a lot longer to get up to pace with the wheel than any other, perhaps because of the cars stability. I prefer not to use the active steering as I like a bit of over steer I did try, and got a good lap time with it but didn't feel in control. Non the less this evenings 2 hours was very productive PB'd my wheel best sectors throughout all of them and was on for a 16.5 on 1 lap, of course I messed up the left hander after the 3rd split but I'm getting there with this wheel! :D.

I honestly think the perfect pad lap is about 16.6 also but since I haven't used the pad a lot since doubt I'll get to that now :(. Although I got an interesting transfer of feelings. When I first went to the wheel I struggled and thought I had hit my peak early on it, and felt I had huge capacities left on the Pad. That feelings switched now :D, with more feeling of capacity on the wheel and less on the pad when I went on the other day.

Yeah, i was just thinking that (16.7 pad limit-for me the best i think i could of had) unsure about wheel...., going through the replays and looking at live timings (sectors times). I noticed that mine and Tidgneys sectors were no joke within 0.010 each of the first 3 sectors and then i wasted the rest at the end. Then i realised the two french guys were getting .4 Sector 3 times! and Ti-Tech was over .1 slower to outburner in sector 2. So between there sectors atleast a 2'16.1 is possible... truely ALIEN!!

Hehe ye I have looked at Ti-techs and Outburners, you put there lap together and you do get a remarkable lap. :D.

My DS3 Consistent Lap times, Inconsistent Sector times :s (From when I first started the spreadsheet, last 4 all happened on the same day) it's amazing what 1 mistake in a sector can do to your lap really :S.

The Titech does it again, just running a few lazy laps during the last couple of days of the competition. I've met this guy aloing with his other 2 brothers, all 3 have non existent english skills lol, but they make a pretty formidable trio in online racing. Never got around to running any more laps of this one, would have like to have snatched a .4 or .5 as it is in me, but had an injury (fractured right clavical) so I might be out of action for a while. CHeers

Ahhhh Dan that's a shame, nevermind just don't injur yourself the next time you can enter a competition of this kind. :D

Correct me if Im wrong, but I think I have the 4th fastest time in the UK using a pad :)

Tidgney
Markyboy92
SpudSkills
Herbok9 - Me :)

Hope I can be another pad user at the finals, 3 days to go :nervous:

The revenge of the padders! XD
Tidgney (9,UK), Markyboy92 (13,UK), Pit4692 (8,IT), SpudSkills (22,UK) and Herbok9 (37,UK)
Go mates, we want the final! XD
In these days I'll try the 2.16.999 =)

O this gives me such an urge to try make the top 10 in EU on a pad lol. Aww decisions. I might just for the last 3 days do that as im pretty much there on my wheel :D.

edit: No resist pad resist the temptations :P.

Just put a video up of a practice lap I did earlier, had to wait until I was going fast enough before I called my misses to take a clip otherwise she'd have been stood their all night lol
Anyway, here's chasing outburner for a low 16.9 with token flunked last corner to boot.

It helps control the car if you don't like the rear sliding around, some people like to back it into corners though for better throttle steering mid-corner. If you like more full throttle and like to work the wheel a lot to keep control active helps. In looking back 6 weeks though it would've probably been more natural and just as productive to persevere with it off.

I notice its been quiet here the last few days :sly:

Is that because everybody is trying to go faster on GT Academy ? 👍👍

hehe that or people have died from exhaustion :P
I would bet on the second option lol

With times getting so close and competitive, it's getting harder to improve one single thousandth of second, i'll give my all today and tomorrow, hope it will be enough to make this stage, but i'm not so sure of achieving this, making a 2:16 isn't any easy.

I'm nowhere near fast enough :grumpy:
but i got a wheel and seat on tuesday and now i'm faster than i was with a DS3 so there has been an improvement 👍

anyone any idea whats happening? i loaded up my ps3 and loaded gt5 as usual, but when i clicked on seasonal events an error came up saying an error has ocurred andi must quit gtmode. so i did and now i cant log into the seasonal events as it now says unable to connect to the server!?! been trying allsorts to get on and been trying for hours. anything i can do? i wanna improve my time im currently about 55th! :s

:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

Im shizzle. End...

consistancy = piss poor

Keep at it Herbok, best way I found of improving consistency is to do the Time trial when your half asleep. Helps me anyway :P. Or think of something else while driving.

Try relogging into PSN should work then, but return to main menu then back in again.

1 and a Half days to go!, I want to get the time on my wheel now, I just matched Ti-tech to the corner just before the second split where i dropped a tenth, so hoping to at least up my time, but with my wheel now! :D.

Cheers Tidgney 👍, I agree with you about having better consistency when half asleep or after about 25 laps when I'm bored. Im hitting the 17s alot more now but still I dont think I can achieve <17.1 before tomorrow night, which I think is going to be needed to qualify.

I have been using your ghost because its the fasted pad, good luck beating it with your wheel.:)

EDIT BY MOD: Please refrain from use of "textspeak" such as "u, plz" etc 👍

Just looked and im down to 18th (net 17th) so i thought it would be borderline to finish top 20, risky to be stubborn and leave it so i had a go for the first time in about 2 weeks with the pad and very nearly improved, quite promising i thought i would have a few hours practice to get back up to pace. I think a few more sessions by tomorow night and i should be able to do a 2'16, its so close! 0.15 from 10th to 20th. Quite a few names ive never even heard of, maybe there not english or eligable but i dont really want to miss out for the sake of being stubborn, could so easily be people on different accounts or just new fast people coming through.

I actually can't believe how close this is, I mean this is the longest track so far for GT Academy yet its the closest I have seen I think. I thought with it being a longer track the gap should be larger as there are more corners to mess up on. Wow this is going to get quite interesting tomorrow.

Cheers Herbok for the luck, hopefully I can finally get the lap in now on my next 2 hour session.

The Barbecue that is happening tomorrow I wont be going to unless I get a .7 or under :S.

Done a 50 lap session earlier and finally got the time that I was aiming for, not bad considering I haven't run it properly over the last month (only maybe an hour a week). Still think I've got a few more tenths in the bag, but not sure if I'll have the time to get it. Hopefully that's me qualified, now I need to be able to run quicker than high 18's on the wheel....
