Tense! It was getting a bit tight there at the end!

I never thought id say it, but I'm going to miss driving that track.

pez

Well done Alex I knew you'd be fine you always respond well in the thick of it ! Congrats to my fellow Newportonian, 2 people yet again from our muddy rivered city :)

Edit: I nearly cracked up on the last lap then, 30 seconds to go and I'm only 2.5 tenths down on outburners ghost into the second to last corner, I think I laughed myself off the track in apprehension. :D

Ive spent all day on this and now have a massive blister on my thumb off the G25 lol. only managed to improve by .100 today currently 26th in uk so thats me out unless by a miracle 6 people drop out. Its been fun but god ive done so many laps i dont want to see that track ever again!!

Dont give up hope yet.... your net 23rd at worst, 3 above you are ineligable.

God that was to close for comfort lol, when i got passed in the last few mins by my3id_dave i was checking every minute knowing one more faster time could put me out, fortunatly no one did, made hard work of qualifying this time! and just watching that my3id's lap i think he might have done the fastest last sector in europe... a high .0 by T3 and then finished on a low .9.

Congrats to all qualifiers. Such close times! I've been struggling all day to beat my previous best of 17.145, which it seems would have just been good enough anyway for UK/IRE, but I wanted to be sure. Finally managed a 16 just before midnight, so super happy with that! Looking forward to the national finals. :)

Cheers! Great to see that the mighty 'Port is going to be well represented again! Great time there Davissi!

I wonder if we'll get the Tivyside Advertiser phoning up again? :D

Moose for sure and im pretty sure kronic isnt english-not 100% certain though, Nismo dave in 23rd is first on the standby list i believe.

Cool, hope Dave makes it in. Think I was talking to him at the Irish finals last year 👍

well, i spend 4h running the track today since 7pm, i was making some nice laps, but i always had to make a small mistake that was costing me a few tenths.
Now that this first round is over, i would like to start racing with you guys, so that i can improve my driving technics a bit more, and maybe next time(if there will be one) i can have a better shot on this opportunity.

(Sorry for off-topic)

Add my PSN, if we are ever online together I'll give you a race :dopey:

Well done to everyone who made it, Nice one Dessy:tup:, Nismoe will hopefully be joining you.

Did about 70 laps today, could only manage a 2:17.7, was just too out of touch with the track. Oh well. Was great fun anyway, love the TTs.

Well done to everyone who qualified not just in UK/IRE but all the countries:tup: Hadn't looked at the board in 2 or 3 weeks until this morning and man it really closed up.

We have finalists from Northern Ireland, Ireland, England & Wales. Is there any Scottish guys who made it?

Got a phone call last year the day after so same again? Can't wait too see were final is going to be.

@markyboy92 you may have given me hope just yet :nervous:
Congrats to all the top 20 in all euro regions 👍

@Dessy fantastic job well done fella!
@PR1VATEJ0KER good effort from you too, fair play to you for not letting this take priority over your college stuff, i'm sure you'll be a regular feature in future GT Academy's :)

As for the track - loved it and would deffo play it again despite my aching right knee and leather skinned thumbs

Regards the car - I think i've seen enough of the back of a Silver Z(Eddskill's) to last me a while thanks!

Congratz, to everyone how made the top20 cut.
I didnt have time to play after last wednesday, I was 6th on the board eventually dropped to 16th. Was holding my breath over the weekend .
Like Bart mentioned the Dutch top 20 is covered with three tenth of a second :scared:
Great display of GTP in the top 20 aswell, I am kind of slacking :P.

Regarding the phone I wouldn't know from last year. Neither do I know if I entered home number or mobielphone number :dunce:
I would imagine their will also be an e-mail?

Quick question off topic.. Did I win the GTPlanet Forum Competition? Guessed 2'17.517 and the 200th average lap time overall was 2'17.513. I see a lot of people posted times for their territory alone, but the original post says for all territories..?

Dunno if you are reading that right?

200th time posted by Region:
2:18.953 UK & IRL
2:18.671 FR & CH
2:19.331 IT
2:19.513 DE & AT
2:18.686 ES & PT
2:21.285 NL

I would average that as 2:19.4065

Ah I get ya. I thought it was just the 200th time overall. My bad

Well done to everyone who got into the top 20, can't wait to see you all at the finals.

It got seriously close towards the end and there with some very impressive times. I have to say though, having been as high as 12th when I stopped, I was definately expecting to drop down the order a lot more bearing in mind I haven't bothered setting any times since the 18th March. I ended up finishing 36th overall, which just goes to show how quickly it got competetive this year.

Anyway, like I said, well done all, see you in a few weeks :)

Just got the email there.

The UK & Ireland National Finals will take place on 9th & 10th of May in Brands Hatch

My last exam in college is on the 10th of May. Lucky me. One way or the other I'm not missing this chance so I will repeat it in August.

Anyway I'm really looking forward to heading over there, hopefully it will be a fun few days!

I haven't got email yet, hopefully come soon! Brands Hatch again, hopefully we get whipped around in the 370 race car again! Or maybe drive a stock one ourselves

Just that I can bring a guest. No actual details about the competition itself yet. The forms will be sent out soon.

any hitmen on here who can track down and get rid of 3 of the top 20 before the national finals inbox me, money waiting lol

On a serious note. Has anyone on here ever been put on standby for the finals in previous academys? How quickly do you hear if you are to be put on standby?

Cheers lads

Congratulations to the European top ten GT Academy 2011 classifieds (ineligible or eligible) in the online stage.

Good luck as well to all the finalists in their respective countries, personally I won't go to the finals in my country as there's no guarantee of fair play plus I have to pay the hotel accommodation and travel bills like in the other two last GTA editions.

Once this GTA 2011 online stage party is over I think I won't play to GT5 so much, there's not much incentive for me in GT5 right now.
My incentive are official online races and time trials but there aren't official online races and time trials are absolutely random, usually I don't like the ones Polyphony Digital choose every week.

I don't augure a good future for GT5 or Polyphony Digital if they don't put official races or championships as for example iRacing are doing since years ago.

With this kind of cadenza, GT5 will seem as exciting as Bagdad Cafe. (great movie BTW)

Good luck everyone and have a nice day.

(I'm sorry for my damn english)
