I would be interested to know what the competitors on the show thought of him?

Because the show is for the competitors not the viewing audience?

Personally I have no idea who this cat is so I'll pass judgement on him later... The random hottie last year was my complaint.

I've seen here on G4 shows a bunch of times. That's where I knew her from.

I don't understand what you mean. I'm interested to know what the competitors thought about him? Is he as cool as he seems on tv or did he not interact with them much? That's all I meant.

eh... almost everything on G4 is pretty unwatchable (as it's aimed at the mind of a 12 yr old); that could explain my immediate distaste for her.

Why don't you do a little research instead of writing something like that?
As pointed out Dhani Jones is an American football player. Dhani hosted an excellent show on the Travel Channel called Dhani Tackles the Globe and it was an excellent show. He went to different cultures and learned their sports in a week or less the competed in it at a very high level. The guy has a very good tv personality, is funny and seems very open and down to earth, very likeable. I don't know his gaming or racing credentials but why don't you learn something about the guy, watch the show and then base your opinion on that rather than forming it beforehand and going off on a mindless rant?

Because I shouldn't have to research the snot out of a TV show's host to validate the host. He's not from the gaming nor auto racing industry, period. Frankly, I don't care enough to research something like this. The guy is a nobody to the industries. This is what's expected from Spike I guess.

The only show on Travel Channel worth it's salt is "Man vs Food". Everything else is crap, "In my opinion". Why not get Alton Brown to host it, he's likable and incredibly detail minded. Mike Row from Discovery Channel's Dirt Jobs? Or Mikey from American Chopper?

At less they didn't get the ditz cue card reader from The Tester.

Watch the show, that's how you validate the host.

The fact that you think 'No Reservations' is crap but like 'Man vs Food' tells me everything I need to know about you.;):)

Lol! My exact thoughts when I read his posts, and yes I do like MVF but NR is just in a whole'nother league.

Actually it tells you nothing. I haven't watched Man vs Food since Summer 2011. Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Touch, Dexter, 24, The Office, Hell's Kitchen, Game of Thrones, Survivor, O'Reilly Factor, Vampire Diaries, Family Guy, Doctor Who, South Park, Spartacus (on Starz), Simpsons, Homeland, Good Eats, Burn Notice, Top Gear UK & US, Fifth Gear (on Velocity), Red Eye, Clone Wars, Overhaulin', Shark Tank, Once Upon A Time, BBQ Pit Masters, Inside NASCAR, F1 Debrief, Modern Marvels, Mythbusters, Hell on Wheels, Big Bang Theory, TVU Music Videos, Spongebob, Wipeout, Falling Skies, Amazing Race, Gold Rush, Great American Bible Challenge, and Sons of Anarchy will tell you more about me than some food show I lost interest in more than a year ago, on a channel that is about as interesting to me as OWN.

Even Kevin Perrera would be better than some no named college football player with no gaming or racing "cred".

I'm still watching the show anyway. Even if Anderson Cooper was hosting, I'd watch because its Gran Turismo related.

The point is No Reservations > Man vs Food because Anthony Bourdain is a BAMF. How about we quit being hyprercritical of the host and just watch the show, eh?

Dave the dig about Man vs Food was a joke.

Looking forward to tonight. Anyone know what to search for to find to companion app on the app store?

I'm not taking anything personal at all. This is adult Internet banter.

Is there not a download link for the app on Spike's site? I don't have a tablet so I didn't bother looking.

Dr_Watson
wtf is that doing in there? Commedy? :P

Not too get off topic or anything. Is everything ok with you and yours where you are at in NY?

A new addition for season two is a second-screen experience, Pit Pass, which puts the viewer at the center of the action, making them feel more like a participant than a spectator. Building on the concept of "Victory Is Anyone's," viewers can visit GTAcademy.us via their smartphone or tablet devices while watching the show and enjoy access to exclusive segment-specific content while the show is playing on SPIKE TV, all via the browser and without needing to download an app. Each episode will have unique companion content, including video, interactive maps, polls, tutorials and fun facts, to drive deeper viewer engagement and inspire social media sharing. In addition, using Facebook Connect, the fan becomes the hero, enjoying the ability to create his/her own custom, adrenaline-charged GT Academy hot lap video, as well as immersing themselves in a rich, panoramic first person experience on the GT Academy website, optimized for the iPad and iPhone gyroscope technology.

So much for watching it DVR'd.

Less than 11 minutes!!!

WTF is "Gran Tureezmo"?

What is a "Nurburg ring"???

Nothing like a noob to interrupt your last meal!!!

What is "Racer X" real name???

Now watching Hannity, the east coast is suffering horribly!!! $4,000,000,000 for Katrina and only $11,000,000 for Sandy. Something is very wrong with this picture

Episode was very good. Well done by everyone on there.

What was the question of the episode?

@Dave: I'm pretty sure he pronounced Gran Turismo the correct way if you are referring to Dhani.

He did say Tureezmo the first time. I've ripped on G4 people for doing the same thing. If you listen without looking at your screen, your ears will pick up things your eyes don't.

I liked the episode as well. Very disappointed they didn't let them finish their last meal!!!! It seems to me like they are rushing through this season.

Who is Racer X?

Lol, I'm saying the way he said it is correct. It's not Tur is mo. Listen to the way KY says it.

Patrick Crider was Racer X.

Is you're name pronounced McFeezell? Turismo is an Italian word, not a Japanese term right? (I may be very wrong and about to chew on toe jam). I'd bet Italians pronounce it Tur-is-mo.

I need to watch it again. Using the web browser was pretty distracting and not quote as interactive as I would've liked. Some head mounted camera video would've been cool.

Patrick Crider got DQed before he got to Silverstone. Think TRC_Hunk got his slot. Some legal issue he had back home, iirc the thread trying to get him back in.

Italians likely pronounce it Turrr ees mo. Gotta roll that r. And iirc my time in Italy and what little Italian the USAF fed us, i is pronounced ee in italian. But I might misremember. Any Italians around want to help out?

Bummed to see Eddie left that early. Jett looks strong. Kinda expected a little more than 30 minutes on Spike however.

Us west coast guys are still waiting :/

What are some of your guys' predictions? I already know a few in final six but I'll keep to myself not to spoil anything :)...Still have yet to know who wins though. I've got my money on Jeff Stuart based on how good he is in the game and his AutoX skills aren't too shabby either.

Beyond the Apex feature from Gran Turismo 5 Prologue just to show you how it's said here.

I wish the episode was 1 hour like it was last season. They crammed too much into a half-hour. An hour would have been perfect.

Dhani Jones is an improvement on the host from last year. Not for appearance, haha, but by the way he hosted the show and carried herself. Whatever her name was, the host from last year made annoying and repetitive comments that were hard to sit through.

I don't like how the competitors' dinners were interrupted for the elimination part. They showed a lot more respect to the competitors last season by collecting everyone in a briefing room. I was a little worried one of the eliminated competitors might get angry and fling a plate full of food to one of the judges' face!

Dhani did a good job, but the show as a whole was a disappointment for me. So much potential washed a way in a mad rush of eliminations. We never even saw the bio of a few of the guys that got eliminated. There was more drama in the coverage of the US finals in San Diego.

Granted this isn't going to get the treatment (or interest) of a show like Survivor, but given Spike's line up (or lack of) you'd think they'd try to extend this a little longer even if it has a niche audience. It's almost as if Nissan paid for this to air and they could only afford 30 minutes for a few weeks.

Hopefully as they get down to the final 8 they'll slow it down and let it play out a little. I have no idea who is going to win, but a couple of my favorites (and guys I race with) have already been eliminated. :(

That said... I won't miss an episode, but they could have shot it with VHS and produced it in a trailer at the track and I'd still say that given the subject.

yeah the edit down to a 1/2 hour was pretty terrible.
after the show you're left with a big "wtf did I just watch?" feeling.
pretty big fail from the production and editing stand point, if i didn't know people in it they would have had a pretty hard time getting me interested with their erratic steamroller of editing hatchet wielding.

Yep! SONY is getting hosed in this. Speed had a lot more coverage and attention focused on the drivers.

Dhani did ok. Not great, not bad, just neutral and not trying to have the camera on him and his boobs & butt.
