First attempt at Tokyo and I promptly found movable tires at the end of the straight against the wall and watch them go flying. First thought, that was sweet, they should incorporate that into GT5. Second though, damn I slid a long long way.

What about the people who made it to Orlando? Are they eligible?

As far as I know, yes. It only says in the fine print that the "16 Silverstone finalists" are not eligible. (technically that should say 15 since Bryan doesn't need to compete again)

Well its understandable that the people who made it the first time wouldnt go the second time only because it would be the same show again with probably a few new faces mixed in.

However, it would be cool to see the same faces come back for another shot, I could see it both ways as being good TV.

All I know is this time is going to be 10x tougher than last time just to make it to the finals because everyone and their mom is trying now after the TV show aired. They finally see how serious this competition is.

 I always turn the ghost off.

I allways drive without any information on the screen (except gold/silver/bronze because i cant take them out xD).

I think its the most effective way to concentrate in what your doing and left pressure of clock / ghosts behind. :)

I did 5th yesterday with DS3 :)

ps: I did this lap playing like the 1st (bumping on the red Silvia) but before of that i was doing 39.3xx passing him around.

So I've looked around some Nissan websites and germany is the only country which got a special site for the (Nissan-)GT-Academy.
If you want to see the facts of germanys GT-A look here: http://www.nissan-sportscars.de/gt-academy.html
you can see a tuned 370Z (GT-graphics) and if you klick an "Qualifikation" there is also a tuned GT-R '12
it's probaply car #5 and #6 for the GT-A

According to GT Academy Facebook post, all Special Items, and cars won will be collected AFTER GT Academy is FINISHED. So post and spam to all the 100s of threads asking this same question.

Following is right from them: By the time you read this, we would have reached 600,000 Gold Trophies won by GT Academy gamers! Congratulations to all of you who have gained a clean sweep! You will receive a car that you can use within the Gran Turismo 5 game. If you clear all rounds in Bronze or better, you'll receive a special race wear set that can be worn by your avatar in Gran Turismo 5. These will be accessible following the conclusion of the online qualification process!

There was a month long Forza 4 tournament that ended a couple months ago sponsored by Hyundai. It was winner take all, and the grand prize was a brand new 2012 Hyundai Veloster and a check for $8,900. The total prize package was worth over $27,000. I won it, but Jersey was on my heels almost the entire time. He ended up finishing in 2nd place. Also, a couple years ago Hyundai sponsored another Forza tourney with a $2,000 cash prize. I won that one too, with Jersey a close 2nd.

I say we put our rivalry aside for now and focus on getting to the National finals first. Hopefully we a chance to go head to head in real life. =) Best of luck to ya man.

Can't forget AXF. weren't you on team 1? I am definitely gonna push myself hard for this comp but I am not positive that I can run with the top 32. It is always possible though.

all that fitness advice I gotta say, you need to know what you're capable of:P
It's better to be there and get carried by a Royal Marine then to be nursing an ankle injury:P

Hey guys, trying to figure out where I can watch the ghost for the fast times, can you only do it while on your ps3, or can I watch them from a computer somewhere? Gotta pass the time at work somehow... lol

More on topic post who is using a CSR? And what settings are you using if you don't mind sharing. I was way better last time with a DFGT. Maybe it's just getting used to the physics again since i haven't played since the last academy.

Sounds like a plan. Top 32 i dare to say shouldn't be that much of a problem not to sound to cocky being a newb and all. Good luck AJ aka Hunk.

Friendly word of advice: don't triple post. Use the Edit button. :)
Also, the little speech bubbles at the bottom right of each post allow "multi-quote". 👍

Most injuries happen due to lack of strength in the muscles and poor muscle memory in general from lack of training. Hope that helps.

I didn't know about the multi quote. Learn something new every day. Wouldn't wanna get in trouble for posting to many times in a row on a forum.

you have to build it up is what i'm saying. If you havent worked out for the last 2 years starting with p90x or running 5 miles a day will prolly do you more harm then good:P

Then, we're both sayin the same thing.💡

I'd thought that Id spend the rest of the week working on my leaf times, but posting better times in the leaf is like pulling teeth got damn.

I'm stuck at 30.430 (EDIT on Round 1-1). I've plateaued on skill and Ayrton is ashamed of me. BTW, a gentlemen from Japan named himself Ayrton Senna on PSN and he's been directly below me on the leaderboards the whole time. I feel like Ayrton is pushing us all.

I think the chances of the challenges at Silverstone being the same as last year are pretty slim.

All I know is this time is going to be 10x tougher than last time just to make it to the finals because everyone and their mom is trying now after the TV show aired. They finally see how serious this competition is.

And that's the thing. With so many people competing this year, the chances of us making it again are almost impossible. However, I believe we should be given the chance to try. And due to his situation last year during the competition, I think Connor Clifford should get an automatic entry to Silverstone this year.

haha, there was a guy from the UK named "Lewis_Hamilton_" and he was below me on the leaderboards. :dopey:

^^ LOL, I saw that, I wonder if the man plays him some GT5? Having said that, I wonder why the boys didnt try their hand at the mugello tests

Seems to be a slight delay in times updating on the leaderboards. Twice now I've improved times and thought the game didn't update it on the board. It did eventually update about 2 minutes later.

Alright, I've read through this entire thread and something that R1600Turbo said was that these first seven rounds don't really matter that much. Is this entirely true? If so, I'm going to say screw the leaderboards and just get gold until Event 8. Also, what's up with the cornering on these events? Seems like PD does this a lot ("three tyres in the grass").
