have you tried the AMG acadamy in the " special section? It takes you step by step through the nurburgring. I couldnt drive that track well but trying to get the golds in the acadamy will get you quite better at it. I assumed that the final test would be nurburgring so i spend most of my time trying to get all the golds on the amg acadamy. its helped me with that track tremendously. now i almost feel comfortable on the ring.

They most definitely do not have the same feel. In the liscenses pre-5 a noob driver could actually feel like they were learning something. GT5 feels more like tests than instructions.

I can't remember which GT it was (1or 2?), but there was a license test where one of your tires deflated as you entered a corner.

They're also supposed to appeal to new GT players. Probably gives them an instructional feel.

I know it started 9 days ago, but in one of the front page stories (https://www.gtplanet.net/gt-academy-2012-launches-today-in-15-countries/) it states you can join at any time between May 1st and June 26th and play catch up. My PS3 died months ago, so I can't exactly log on and find out for myself. Luckily, a generous friend is willing to let me borrow her PS3 for GT Academy, so if I can still join, I need to pick up the PS3 and get started. I'd really appreciate if anyone can confirm whether or not I am eligible to compete if I start this week.

I'm going to miss rounds 6 and 7 due to a trip but I assume I'll be able to play those and 8 when I get back June 16, considering Round 1 is over and is still playable. I assume PD will leave the rounds open, but I'm only hoping.

They really thought this years Academy through as a brilliant marketing plan. They are going to post some incredible "participation" numbers based on downloads even if people only play 1 time on round 1. It's also nice they are allowing everyone to participate through until the end.
