I can see one area of contention already, reading the rules. The first person to hit the winning time wins. So if two people have the same time, the first one wins. Not good for people who work, and can't start at the very opening of the event.

Yeah it says this too:

In the event of a tie, the contestant with the fastest race time with the fewest attempts will be deemed the winner.

The way it reads that's total attempts on 8-5 but realistically it's going to be a longer event so there will be less chance of a tie. Doesn't sound like a big deal to me. You can always go faster right?

Edit: it also says this:

All contestants will compete using the same vehicles and tracks, which will be announced at the start of race.

Skill is the main factor in that. For instance, two people score the winning times.

player 1 scores 1:42.345 first and makes 650 attempts
player 2 scores 1:42.345 second but makes 625 attempts(let's say he came in late to the event)

player 2 wins based on the rules set forth. Praise Jebus. Amen.

Guess I should finish rounds 5 and 6 so I don't have to waste time I could be spending on 8-5. Just been kinda going through the motions on all of them except 4-3 ( I liked that one) time to hunker down and get serious.

I've got a dodgy psn account (wrong age etc.) so don't want to get DQ'd from this event so going to make a new one. How do i join as a GTP_.... member on here so i can take part in the leagues and official TT's. Cheers!

I believe all you have to do is put "GTP_" in front of your name.

Go to the forums>Gran Turismo 5>GT5 Online Competitions. You should find what you're looking for there.

Finally got into the top 1000 in all open rounds! Now the problem is that I am ranked 999th on round 1-5

Edit: Nevermind about 1-5 now I'm in 550th.

Stop wasting your time on round 1 and get practicing for round 7-1 to 8-4 which you are going to dominate

Yes.... I have read that.

Past rounds have been released earlier in the day, plus they have the dates off on the sites. Sunday is 6/10, not 6/11 as described as the release.

Does anyone know if PD put a special scoring system/leader board in place for round 8-5 so that we may distinguish between those who are officially entered and those who are doing it for fun? I would expect a leader board, at least for myself, which only displays Americans from the North East (The top eight of which will be moving on if I remember correctly)

There are no regions this time. It's top 32 in the country and that's it.
