GT Academy July 2013!!

So there's no registry page or anything this year? I know Wardez found something in the US T&Cs or something that you need to have a correct email, DOB etc but also address and phone number. I've updated my SEN details on the SEN website but found no place to enter my address or phone number. What's up?

I got an email from nissan in June:

nissan
Your chance to become the next GT Academy champion starts today. GT
Academy takes people who are good at video games and, in a matter of
months, turns one lucky winner into a pro driver for the Nissan Team.
Pre-register now for season 3 and get a head start on the competition before
full registration opens 7/2. Make your racing dreams a reality today.

The Pre-register had a link that went to a site I could enter my info, but now redirects to spike.

The SEN website login page to your account is here. On Account details (here, have to be logged in), you can update your name, email, and address but not your phone number. Seeing as they contacted us by phone first last year (at least for the UK), surely there needs to be somewhere where you can insert your phone number like when there was a registry page last year? Unless of course they're only contacting us by email this time round but it says this for the US and mentions phone number:

Contest Registration.
Contest registration begins on July 2, 2013 8:00PM and ends on July 28, 2013 10:59 PM EST. Each contestant must provide required contact information upon registering to participate in this Contest. Failure to provide complete and accurate information may result in disqualification of entry in Sponsor’s sole discretion. To register, Contestants must download the GT Academy 2013 demo. Contestants will be required to update their SEN account information with accurate name, age, home address, phone number and an e-mail address so that Sponsor can notify them of their standings. Contest entry requirements will be verified by an Affidavit of Eligibility and Release, to be completed by contestants before the Prize is awarded. Contestants may only register once. If a contestant registers more than once, Sponsor may disqualify some or all of that contestant’s entries.

Edit: just found this in the T&Cs. Must have missed it first time round. :dunce:

6. The Territory Final
6.1.All Qualifying Entrants will be contacted by the Promoter via email as soon as practicable after the end of the Entry Period (it is intended that this will be within five (5) days of the end of the Entry Period but the Promoter does not guarantee this) and invited to take part in the Territory Final. Each Qualifying Entrant must claim their place in the Territory Final within three (3) days of the date the notification is sent by the Promoter, or they will cease to be a Qualifying Entrant.

.379 for 11th, good enough, uk seemed to be easier to qualify this year, some names not up there this time, some ineligable from top 6 last year and also Ireland was split seperatly this year?
France 2"16.1 to get through, that's what I'd have imagined uk would be like, normally one of the tougher nations to make it, this time seemed to be one of the easier ones?!

well in the german description, it says the email which is connected to the SEN-Account must be valid

so i think they sending out emails
or do they handle it different for each country?

Finished on a 2:16.858, with 5 minutes to go I was on for a 16.5 then I messed up chapel annoyingly! lol :P! Still happy I improved a tiny bit more!! Now to wait for that email, congratulations to all qualifiers 👍

Congrats all :) bit disappointed I couldn't improve in tonight session, still nearly 100 places better than last year :D

Good job on improving 👍 I was hovering around improving all evening but couldn't get the last sector hooked up :)

Also the cut off just dropped into the 2:17.4s for the UK.

I know what you mean with that, I nailed every sector at one point just not together :P! Congratulations on the UK #1 though Spurgy :)!

I'm slightly gutted my prediction wasn't correct with the cut off .006 off the estimated time :(!

P.s. Marky that's some pressure you gave yourself lol! Congrats though :)!

Haha thanks, yeah, didn't have much spare time for most of it, so I just left it and left it and left it till a couple of days to go,
Haha but more exciting than banging a good time early and having no pressure last week which is what I normally do,
Wasn't funny at the time though, this evening, a hour to go and I was relying on drop outs,

To be honest I was thinking to myself if I can't cut it under abit of pressure last day then I don't deserve to make it, after all, on the pods there's a lot more pressure!

Gtp_rpm, improved with 3 mins left! for 18th, mayyyyy just be ok to make it?! Well done

Disappointed I didn't get close to my theoretical best of 2:16.2 but anyway, I finished 9th worldwide and qualified for the nationals so I guess I should be happy! :)

Congrats to all who have qualified! 👍

Thanks! Bandit was worrying me after he set his 2:16.702

Wish I hadn't been away for 2 weeks 👎 .. would have qualified for sure. Won't sleep tonight after messing up a 17.3 with 15 minutes to go  🤬

Well done to those who qualified though! 👍

Wow now that is timing! Saidur isn't going this year he has said, so it's whether anybody else from 1st - 17th isn't eligible, maybe GT5Messenger isn't?? Not sure as he appeared right at the end from no where on the leaderboard but I hope RPM does make it as that was one steller effort to get that lap in at that time!

MTT1 might be too young to register, don't know about anyone else :)

Yea I personally only know about 6 names from the top 17, so I don't know if people are using different accounts? Or are just relatively new to it, then again last time I played GT was at the last finals, say what, maybe 15 months ago? So new names were bound to come through when others are no longer competing

Congrats to all that made it. My times were horrible, but I didn't get the demo to participate in the GT Academy competiton, I got it to see what the new physics were like.

Isn't there supposed to be a special event wasn't available until today?

Hahaha! Well I almost had an easy 16.5 a few times but I kept messing up Stowe on the crucial laps haha! Well done 👍

I suppose it doesn't matter anyway, until race camp it's just about passing the barriers :)

Cheers, it was very stressful! I had done several 2'17.7's and with 6 minutes to go my wife came into the room and for whatever reason, I managed to crack Sector 2 - I couldn't have done a quicker lap, so really happy with my time.

Ideally would've done it with more time to go though - that counting down timer didn't help one bit :scared:

Well done to everyone who made it through and thanks to Tidgney for the guides, they really did help. Now I've just got to hold my breath...

Even Ti-tech85 wouldn't get through if you need a 2:16.1 to qualify in France :P.

General competitive order has gone down in most countries considering a lot of fast people are now ineligible. Only likes of Spain and Poland it is tough to get through because of less places.

Well done everyone!!!
Excellent job bandit spurgy and Tidgney for your lap times :)
I just couldn't play today because I was far away from home and with a huge hangover lol.
Good luck to all finalists ;)

"Chilean drunkest driver"

Good job to the fastest guys out there. And to Spurgy, Bandit and Tidgney, you guys lay down the rules with the fastest time in the EU/UK TT. 👍

Lets have a GTP guy take it right to the wire. Actually talking about guys, anyone know of any females qualifying?

Those are some crazy times, well done Ti-tech an outstanding lap. I managed to get a 2.17.779, I might of been able to shave of some more time but couldn't see myself being quicker than over a second.

I was running 2.19's for ages until I managed to get into 18's.

And well done to all the guys from UK that have qualified to the next round. Gonna be some intense action from here on out.

Good luck to you all.

hi, just out of interest, how many drivers from each region now continue to the next stage? also what is the next stage for them? more online time trials?

my best was a 2:20.4, using the standard ps3 controller, 659th in the uk, well chuffed with that

well done looks like I got dumped gutted could see a 17.5/high 4 so many times but that was the limit for me with the t500rs was having to use high abs for some reason . Very disappointed not to get my shot this year looks like I am gonna have to get a logic wheel to qualify :ouch:

mann they could have taken 32 instead of 24 have fun guys top 6 looks wide open this year
