GT Academy Prize Car Seasonal

Ridox2JZGTE
Just tried the TT with fully stock R32 300hp/1500kg/453pp, no aids, no ABS, BB 9/7, managed 2:04.007 on 3rd lap, with some slow sections, definitely 2:03 or high 2:02.xxx possible with bone stock R32.

And abs

Is this GT Academy Event possible (to be competitive) without irreversibly upgrading the car?

Competitive as being in top 10 ? I don't think so, most fast driver use any means possible to get fastest times, weight reduction is common.

The 456pp TT for R32 GTR might be a different case, the base PP unmodified is 453pp, 3 PP difference ... maybe weight + power limiter and usual tuning for a competitive time.

For me, I'd just try my best with an unmodified car, more rewarding and now I'm ranked within 1000 with only BB changes.

I found that the TT caused me to make some significant adjustments to my driving style. I do normally drive fairly aggressively, hard in, hard out. The ghost made a heck of a difference in seeing the difference at certain turns when I changed how I approached those parts of the course.

I got the same driving style but I have to drive smooth in the time trial because the roads is so narrow

This tune works for me:

I found one significant difference through the square'ish double left hander after you've gone through the long sweeping right hander at the end of the straight. My usual method of drive hard into it, brake late then accelerate out was ok, but at one point I braked lightly and earlier before I had entered the first part of the turn and accelerated through, modulating the throttle (DS3). This instantly gained me a couple car lengths on the ghost. Made a big difference to how I approached this event.

With a completely stock GT-R, not even an oil change, I got gold by 3 tenths on the second lap. And beat the GV race by several seconds on the first try. So no tuning or mods necessary.

My stock (painted yellow) GT-R is on share.

I am far from being an expert tuner, infact, I am a total amateur. Nor am I the fastest guy out there by a long shot, but this set up got me to number 1 - for now.

You might not be an expert tuner but this setup is OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!!! I went from a 2:01.9 to a 1:59.0 in 7th place in 3 laps!!! Congrats on P1

Edit: 3 more laps in and I'm 5th with a 1:58.893. I was 0.3 seconds (I can get faster than that) behind after sector 2 and I still can't perfect the last sector. I'm loosing all of my time there.

Oh my god... I was 1 tenth ahead of Lewis Hamilton after the first 2 sectors and then the power goes out and then it comes back on :banghead::ouch:. I guess I can finally go to sleep now .

Also I'm down 2 more tenths to a 1:58.58x but still in 5th place.

That's sod's law right there :ouch:

My lap has one of my slowest 1st and 2nd sectors, mainly the 2nd one. I've been 3 tenths faster than my current lap. There's also a little room for improvement on the last corner too. I think I should be able to get into the 1:57's. Might tweak the set up a bit, such as reducing the weight, but then again, I like the feel and grip of the car with it's current weight distribution.

I wonder if anyone can explain the newest seasonal - the one that requires you use a Silvia that apparently, as far as i can make out, you can only get by ... completing the race and winning gold - or is this just what it appears , a glitch, or have i missed something?

Better my time with 2:03.557 with unmodified R32 minus BB changes, with slow 1st sector at 0:40.xxx, I've done 0:39.xxx before, add with some slow last few corners, another second or more might be possible ...this TT feels so much better and challenging without using any aids.

The cars are gifts for Golding the rounds in GT Academy ( look it up some day)

Gt Academy is closed so if you haven't played it there is no more change of getting the cars.
You can however borrow them
Around here there are several threads where people offer to share the cars.

Good luck 👍

God, I love this car, after few more laps of TT with R32 GTR, I got into 2:02.xxx. Now I ranked 8xx something, with a completely stock GTR - BB 8/4. I could almost outbrake and passed P1 car on the 1st continuous right corners, but I could not keep up as the car was slower :(. Gotta go for 2:01.xxx now, hope I can make it :)

Its you! I saw your replay lol.

Anyway I barely got gold with on of the tunes on this thread I got something like 2:06:273 I am really not as good as pros like you lol I got 5kth in the silvia event and I am proud of that it was my best.

Bit of a painful eventthis.

Had a dash cold stock but I couldn't get the layout of the track, and the car felt pretty shabby too. 2'12 with an armco ding thrown in.

Obviously once you know the trakc you can get loads of time, but I was unsure all over the lap - which seemed pretty misty and overcast too!

Plugged in Priaino (sic) set up (But no weight loss just the Suspension Diff (But I forgot to alter the Brakes (5/5 but with no ABS - so the car felt pretty truck like and the 35/65 Torque SPlit made it very 4WD - yuck.

Anyhow altered the brakes to 3/2 and took it steady and learnt the layout. time just fell away. From thinking it was impossibru - it became far too easy - just learning the layout after about 5 laps... And 2m04 has loads of time left in it - but all inside the white lines.

The GVS event was tricky as "ANY PP made me think the cars would be overpower monsters... I plugged in a Turbo 3 and discovered the AI cars are not riced up. Ho hum.

Car felt pretty bad. Not fun to drive at all. 370Z looks nice though.

Sorry to bother you, can you help me ?
I tried to set my transmition like yours but for some reason I cant. I tried setting the max speed, then the final gear and then the gears ratios but the 2nd and 3rd wont match. If I set the final gear then max speed then gears ratios 1st, 4th, 5th and 6th wont match.

Should I flip the transmition ?

me too.... peace of cake...

PD, please let us have back an improved "event generator" from GT2!

wouldn't say it was a piece of cake, It took me a serious amount of tries.
But I had fun 👍

Trying to get into 2:01.xxx with a fully stock R32 GTR is very much challenging and more fun than just go for gold.
