GT Academy Prize Car Seasonal

I really do enjoy this version of the GT-R. Quite nice to drive. Took me a few tries to get a clean lap on the time trial, but it was surprising how much speed I could carry through many of the sweepers. Car changes directions quite willingly, not really any understeer to worry about.

Now I'd better get busy driving the 370Z Tuned to get ready for next week!

Thanks my friend. I believe it is Praiano's tune I slapped on it as I didn't want to take the time to tune it myself so credit him for the tune. It could probably be done without a tune, but I put it on there for other people so they wouldn't have to go searching for a tune if they wanted one.

Ah yes, Praiano's my favourite tuner, kudos for giving him credit.

Yep. I have two tuners I go to if I need help or otherwise don't wanna take time to tune myself. Praiano and Motor City Hamilton. Hami drives Miata race cars in real life and is an excellent tuner himself. He races in the area where I live. He is the one that got me started in tuning and has taught me alot over the past year and a half. He also has an excellent write up on the LSD. You should check it out sometime if you haven't already.
Sorry for off topic, just giving some shout outs.

I like alot of priano,s tunes but this one was worse than lldantell,s tune his worked better for me, infact I like the sports suspension better than priano,s setup but its all a matter of preference I suppose

The latest TT for the GTR Tuned car actually has the most fun track ever. The first long right double curve then the left climb are so much fun, the blind corners, the last 3 corners with deep braking from high speed, they scream perfection. I am sure ordinary driver would able to gold it even with SM tires. I had few laps with per usual bone stock Tuned GTR and no aids, just set the BB 9/7, fit CS tires, yes comfort tires. After 4 laps, I have 2:01.4xx, that would be Bronze time, but the surprise is in the joy of driving the car with the said tires. Very predictable understeer and smooth oversteer, I almost can't believe how fast this car even with low grip tires like CS.
By the way my time with SS tires is 1:53.xxx and I left it there then decided to stick with CS for further hot lapping, it's sheer joy.

Have anyone tried to run the GTR Tuned car TT with CS tires ? I am having so much joy hotlapping the TT track, it has quite a flow to it. My previous best with a stock Tuned GTR no oil change yet, was 2:01.4xx, the only change is BB. After several laps more to find that perfect run, I better my own time with 2:00.9xx, I felt there's at least half a second to be had.

Edit : Another few laps, got me 2:00.2xx, maybe 1:59.xxx ...

Like I said, credit goes to Praiano for the tune. I just put it on there so people that borrowed the car wouldn't have to go searching for a tune.

I oil changed my car.maybe that's why the gearbox is not working but glad you like it.

Man I Love This tune!!!!!
The gearbox setting was my mistake. 1st gear was I missed(not that your in it a lot).
Messed with several tunes with this car and came back to yours. I set up your original tune and your updates. Went to another account and tried it without updates(engine updates or window weight reduced). Added removable parts and got a 1.54 and landed in 964(soon to be replaced I'm sure). This was Great for me.
I've really enjoyed these seasonal.
Thank You!!!!

I only could do that on my computer,my iPad can't multi quote

Actually you can do it from the iPad and the app. It's a little klunky but you hit the quote for the first post, copy it, hit back and find the next post hit quote then paste, insert your comments and post.
If you want quote more than 2 posts, you just have to daisy chain the copy/paste part.

Heres the tune I used for the GTR tuned TT.

I only fitted reversible upgrades.(as with all these TT's)

I think its mostly L.Hamiltons but with altered gearing(You might want to shorten the final ratio).

Good enough for a 50s after a few laps.

As I said give the credit to Lewis Hamilton for this set-up,hope it helps.

EDIT:I inputted the front ride height wrong on my car :)
Its still good for the times but if you like your car more pointy raise it to +20.👍

Yeah, I must say, this car is really fantastic. It was a joy to drive, even when the TT was giving me some trouble. The car is very solid and goes where you want it to at good speeds.

The reason for the great handling is the sport soft tires. All the other Academy cars (except the Leaf) use sport hard tires.
I used a stock car (no oil change) and won the race by 30+ seconds and got gold (just barely) in the TT on the second lap.
I tried the sport hard tires in the race and was 3-4 seconds slower per lap and won by just 12 seconds. The soft tires make a big difference.

On the current TT, with modified GTR and SS tires, the best time right now at the leaderboard is around 1:48.xxx. The best I could muster with stock GTR, CS tires is 2:00.2xxx, could easily go into 1:59.xxx with tuning ( silver worthy ). That is around 11-12 seconds slower, I think SH tires on stock GTR would be good enough to gold the TT. Finding 3 seconds for SH against CS tires is very much possible.

I'm going to throw my tune on here for the 580pp Black Edition Tuned.

Tires: SS
Brakes: F=10/R=5
Suspension:
Ride Height F=-2/R=-2
Spring Rate F=14.5/R=10.8
Dampers Extesion F=5/R=5
Dampers Compression F=5/R=5
Roll bars F=3/R=3
Camber F=2.0/R=1.0
Toe F=-0.05/R=-0.05
All Drivetrain mods but leave at factory settings
Transmission change top speed to 168, leave everything else untouched
No power mods
Ballast 41
Position 50

This was a borrowed car so I don't know if oil was changed or not, and I couldn't do any weight reduction to it. It ended up at 1521kg with 552hp. First lap out with the DS3 ran a 1:57 and some change, got gold which is all I cared about, lots of room for improvement on the driving also. Maybe it will help out the DS3 drivers out there, as I tried a couple of full tunes on here and just kept running wide every time on those over the hill turns. My setup nailed the turn both times with no drama.

Gave these a shot last night. Just left the car bone stock everything default. SS's on Spa is overkill and was way too easy. AI is slow. Was surprised as Motegi was pretty challenging for me with default settings. Put SH's on for Spa and that was much more fun. Just drove some laps cruising w/o pushing hard like at a track day. This car drives great w/o tuning-don't really see the point for the race.

Agreed, Spa was way too easy even with the car stock, but then Spa is one of my favorites and I know it well. It would have been nice to have some better competition there.

I must say that I have found the current TT to be absolutely tedious. Far too many adverse camber corners. I have silver but don't really know if I can be bothered to try for gold as I don't need the credits and I gave my last level 15 ticket away as I have all level 15 cars with under 1000 miles on them.

Totally agree with you. The SPA event is the easiest by far, but I love SPA :sly:

After Motegi, I expected Spa to be more difficilt than it was, found myself in the lead on lap 3 and thinking this was way too easy.

With a tuned car im nearly leading after 1 lap lol the race is far too easy, you must run it bone stock and then its still too easy makes a change to race at spa though as I dont have the dlc

PLugged in the Clueless set up - well some of it, the Gears, LSD and the suspension - I also used a 3/4 brake bias as a concession to the set up and not using ABS... Would the car be a tail happy dog as the rears locked up first?

Nope, even under my podgy skills the car felt pretty safe under heavy brakes. Maybe I was driving safe... Maybe not I did 6 laps and I made armco thumping mistakes on three of them. No Map and some identikit corners made a high speed grin turn intoa frantic brake stabbing... this is going to chaff moment as the corner ahead suddenly becomes much more serious and tighter than you first thought.

Still I was thinking it wasn'g going to happen but as soon as I put a half commited clean lap Gold was vanquished. - With an annoying pop up window - "Yeah you've won Gold."

Spa was easy, much fun with no dials maps and timers to distract... And it was dry all race, amazing for Belgium.

^^^thanks for trying the tune. It's not the fastest one around, but should make it easier to drive :dopey:

I tried the Clueless tune as well, found it suited me better than the previous one I was using. Thanks krenkme. Still find the TT tedious though.
