Hopefully we can see him in F1 one day, granted since it's Red Bull he'll just sit at Toro Rosso until they find a new driver or Nissan/Renault stops paying them.

Let's just wait and see how he gets on in GP3 before we start talking about F1. Red Bull is known for being ruthless with its junior driver programme, and if JM doesn't get results then he'll be straight out again.

Here's hoping he can impress Dr Marko et al.

Edited title so we can keep using this thread for 2014. Cleared out the OP as it wasn't correct and I don't have the time to update it. :)

Just to correct something in the news post: Mardenborough finished 21st in the F3 Euroseries last year, not 13th.

An Arden seat is a great seat in GP3, good luck to him.

Thanks Sagaris. In that case, Autosport's also got the wrong information on their article.

Nissan PR team and the Nismo global driver exchange riding on Jann's GP3 drive announcement. #Synergy hehe. Sebring will be his 2nd race in an LMP2 right?

I don't know if it's taboo to talk about it here but all of this sportscar talk made me wonder why they dropped Jordan Tresson from the program. The marketing student in me says it's got something to do with how he didn't fit in with the marketing strategy and budget Nissan had for the upcoming GT Academy graduates coupled with results that didn't impress the head honchos enough to retain him. Just my two cents anyway, maybe someone else who has a bit more info could clarify if they're allowed to do so?

Same goes for Bryan. They seem to use him once, maybe twice a year but we rarely ever hear about it. The guy proved he can drive in the Continental series.

I think Nissan USA has something planned for him this year - http://nasportscar.com/10-questions-w-bryan-heitkotter/ - fingers crossed. I hope GT Academy doesn't become a mirror image of the Red Bull driver stable but I've got a feeling it will eventually have to be after a few years if the program goes completely global *sigh*

Some of the 60 cars competing in this weekend’s Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge race at Sebring International Raceway have different pairings than they had at Daytona.

***Johnny Kanavas replaces Jarrett Freeman Jr. alongside Jim Jonsin in Rebel Rock Racing’s No. 88 Porsche Cayman (ST class). Kanavas raced the No. 34 Skullcandy Team Nissan Nissan Altima at Daytona.

***Former Nissan GT Academy winners Bryan Heitkotter and Steve Doherty take over the aforementioned No. 34 Nissan Altima in ST. Heitkotter switches from the Skullcandy team’s No. 33, which will be driven this week by Vesko Kozarov and Derek Jones.

Mardenborough has been having a decent weekend in GP3, he's been top 10 in practice and has qualified 5th for race 1 (which I think is a few hours after F1 qualifying).

Watched qualifying yesterday and race one this morning.

[Alex] Lynn somehow managed to get in his way in both of the sessions so far this weekend :/

Jann was having a pretty decent run in Austria two weeks ago before he lost the car in coming out of 6/going into 7 with 9 laps left.

Jann Mardenborough won his first GP3 race this morning, the reverse grid obviously helped but he managed to pull away from the cars behind and finish almost 4 seconds clear.

Great to hear Jann won đź‘Ť, he looked competitive yesterday when he managed to overtake up to 8th for reverse grid pole. Missed the race today so will watch the rerun on at 12.15AM.

Surprised seeing Jann's name come up in GP2 qualifying today, good to see him getting the opportunity to drive one of them cars.

Is there anywhere I can watch the GP2 race 1 and 2 for this weekend?? I want to get involved in watching GP3 & GP2 but I can never found out where to watch it...

Set your DVR. NBCSN @ 1am Central Tuesday 9/8 for the GP2 feature race.

GP2 gets highlights on NBCSN at some point but the schedule of when they air it is never consistent, and it's either the feature race or the sprint race, not both like SPEED use to show. GP3 gets no coverage.
