lol not happening
I'm sure that there has come a time when we all have wanted a car, but didn't have the money to get it. So, to prevent these problems from happening, I was thinking of a GT Bank. You would get a loan to buy a car, and pay that back over time. But there are rules, you have a limit of how much you can take at a time, and that number would probably increase when you get further in the game, and there will be intrest, about 20%. This idea is still in the concept stage and I really don't think this would be able to fit in GT properly, so I doubt that it will make it. What do you think?

I wanted to say yes, but I cannot. Half the reward of Gran Turismo games is achieving great things (cars) through much sacrifice and pain. People might be tempted to get the fastest car in the game too early and, I feel that'd be lame. Good idea, though. It may work with more thought and whatnot, but not just yet. I like what this COULD become.

I dont know, this may take away from some of the fun that is saving up money for new cars

I know we live in a now now society but working hard for something and the wait and anticipation is part of the fun

Allow me to make a correction. This will work properly nly if GT5 is going to make you have to win races to unlock the next class of cars. And by the way, i already said that this idea is just in the concept stage and has a lot more things needed for it to work. And this is GT5, the real driving simulator, if you want to buy a fast car early, then go ahead, but that will be at your expense.

Like the insurance idea which is in an other thread, its pointless. Gran Turismo is the real driving simulator not the real financial managing simulator. Let's keep it simple. Race, win money or a car that you can sell for money. If you need more cash race again its that simple.

So, a little insurance and a bank will make it a game of finance and not a racing game?

First I read Insurance, now a Bank in GT5?

Please no!!!
This is a game about driver and a car, not about Pit Crew mini game, not about being a manager, and not about running a cafe place at a track.

So please no.

Don't you all want to have more to do with your GT life? Being a race driver isn't just about just buying a car and racing ,you have to do alot of other stuff.

That is true man, sure it would be nice additions.. But they first need to deliver with solid SIM. in 10 years making car simulations it would be so much easier, so maybe by then they would have to add such features in to make themselves different game.

This sums up my feelings too. I posted a fantasy story about my concept of Career Mode, and that to have a car for the first race in the series, I had to go to the bank to afford the car I wanted, a 240SX, and the league entry fees. I like the idea, in GT Mode anyway, of having to earn every credit, other than a money boost like was offered in GT4 from a GT3 save. I wanted several cars in the used lots, and let many pass me by, but I grabbed five nice ones I wanted badly.

Now, if by some stretch, we get some form of Career Mode and involving a race team manager, it might be fun to have financial situations to deal with. In that case, yes.

Man you got to work for the money to get your cars. You wouldn't get a loan from a bank to get a race car. So hell no

I'd rather have them implement a sponsorship system where you can get offers from Mobil and Bridgestone if you achieve a high performance level, and you can get extra dough after winning races.

believe it or not madden NFL has sponsorships you can aquire, and you can even get bonuses from them for winning a certain amount of games.

now if a football game can have sponsors why not a racing game where sponsors are EVERYTHING?

and the poll is right, the more I think about a bank idea the more it seems like a cheap way to try and get an expensive car you haven't earned the money for yet

I'm pretty sure that there will be ways to make "easy money". In GT4, whenever I need money I just do 3 races in special conditions and I get 3 cars worth lot of money. Sell them and I have the money

I'd like to earn the money, in fact make it harder to earn money and (hopefully, with damage) have repairs to do to slow my progress so I end up playing Sim mode for more than 2 months like GT4.

forget the bank. I would rather have a excel type spreadsheet to login all my carsetups according to pp's and best laptimes so that when I enter an online race I can access my database and figure out what car and setup would be best to compete in with the best lap time's that I have. Maybe GT5 can do this automatically when I go into time trials and play around with the settings.

actually being a professional race driver is about showing up on time to race getting a massage from the chicks in the trailer and going to autograph sessions and being available for the media to interview. buying the car and transporting the car (OMG I can see the nest thread headline "Do you think we should have to pay to bring are cars to different tracks like shipping the car to France for the 'Le Mans 24'") all the other stuff is for the owner to deal with. me personally i would rather be the driver then the owner.

and the bank thing i dont want to deal with. i already got to deal with a car loan in real life i dont want to have to worry about winning enough money to pay off the 1.5Million dollar loan i just took out for my Audi R10.

No, it doesn't take long once you get into the game to bild a large amount of money.

It's an interesting idea, but what if you don't pay up the loan in time? You have to sell some of your other cars to make up for it? Or go bankrupt and have to start all over again? :sly:

Some not so friendly characters will come and break your legs.

I voted "no". I'd rather leave the complicated Bank business out in the not so pleasing Real life and just focus on racing and car collecting in the game as I have since GT1.

What's with the suggestions of minigames that have nothing to do with actually driving the car? We even have someone suggesting insurance? XD

no, it's a racing sim not a life sim. no banks, no loans, no insurance. i just want driving. i drive/play gt to get away from all that garbage, why would i want it in the game?

I think it's a pretty good idea. Say a car costs Cr.200'000. You pay Cr.100'000 instantly and then you loose 50% of your prize money to the bank until you've payed Cr.150'000. No loans if you already have one.

So If you want to loan to a car you only need 50% of the cash but you will end up paying 125% of the car and you don't need to worry about being on a minus budget or something.
